Ameshia Carpenter is a devoted mother of five, a certified nurse’s assistant, and the proud author of Surviving Autism. As a BIPOC woman, she brings a deep sense of cultural awareness, empathy, and strength to every space she enters—especially in her calling as a certified birth and postpartum doula. While she finds immense joy in supporting families through pregnancy and birth, Ameshia holds a special place in her heart for the postpartum period—a time she believes deserves far more care and attention than it often receives. With compassion at the core of her work, she provides nurturing, judgment-free support for mothers and families as they navigate the early days of newborn life. Ameshia is passionate about educating others on the reality of postpartum depression, helping new mothers understand their emotions and experiences, and assuring them that they are not alone—and certainly not “crazy.” Her presence brings calm and clarity, offering both emotional and practical support during one of life’s most tender transitions. Whether it's preparing nourishing meals, tidying the home, folding laundry, entertaining older siblings, or simply holding the baby so mom can sleep or shower in peace, Ameshia shows up ready to serve with love and dedication. She is also available for overnight care, providing comfort and stability through the long hours of the night. With a heart for healing, a gift for service, and lived experience as both a mother and a woman of color, Ameshia Carpenter is a powerful and grounding presence for any family she supports
