I am a birth doula, wife, and mother of two; and co-owner of Heart of the Thumb Doula Services. Having had high risk pregnancies myself, I aim to help pregnant women feel less alone. My goal is to provide love, give support, and guide mothers through pregnancy, labor, and beyond.

My philosophy is that birth is a normal and natural process. Women have an innate ability to birth their babies. Our bodies and our babies are perfectly designed for the journey. If you’ve never given birth before, let me be the first to assure you that you hold an incredible power within to grow, birth, and nourish your baby after they’re born. I believe in your power and the strength of women. Pregnancy and birth are incredibly transforming experiences in the life of a woman and her family. The stories and people that you surround yourself with during the months of pregnancy and at your birth have the potential to either enhance or diminish your belief in yourself. Every woman and birth deserves to be respected and held in a caring environment. Empowering yourself with education and support for birth helps build confidence in your ability to give birth. Education allows you to be an active participant on your journey into motherhood. It helps lead to higher rates of satisfaction of your birthing experience and a reduction in fear and anxiety. It is also associated with higher rates of vaginal birth.
