My name is Orion Clements, the forerunner of Clements Doula Services, and I’m a Madriella Certified Birth Doula serving the DFW area. I decided to become a doula early in 2024 after realizing how much I wanted a career in helping others during some of the most vulnerable times of their lives. I believe in a God that creates peace and order, and wanted to be someone who could embody that for others. Funny enough, shortly after deciding to pursue this career, I found out I was pregnant with my son! Going through that experience, along with training I think really shaped my own doula philosophy. To me, it doesn’t matter if you desire a medicated or natural birth, or even if things don’t go exactly as planned. What matters to me as your doula is if YOU feel empowered, educated, and as supported as possible during this experience. In my case, my passion for birth work stems from personal experience as a wife and mother of two beautiful souls. The miraculous and empowering births I experienced sparked within me a desire to guide and support others on their own journeys through pregnancy and childbirth. However, my path to becoming a birth doula was not without obstacles. Before conceiving my oldest, I faced some difficult pregnancy losses. To help heal and cope with these losses, I turned to writing and expressed my feelings through a love letter or poem dedicated to my future rainbow baby. This experience not only brought me solace, but also deepened my understanding and empathy for other women facing similar struggles. It was this profound sense of empathy and the desire to support and empower women that ultimately inspired me to become a birth doula.
