As your doula it’s my goal to make sure you have the skills, education and support to make informed decisions on how to birth YOUR way. Certified as a DONA birth/postpartum doula, placenta encapsulation specialist, as well as a certified advanced trained doula & educator in VBaC births, my role is to educate, support and empower every individual and their support partner through their pregnancy, labor and postpartum. I incorporate SpinningBabies methods into my work and provide encouraging, judgment-free and continuous birth support that is unique to each client’s hopes and wants towards a healthy & satisfying birth experience. Some of my professional highlights including being voted a Top Provider in GRKids Best Of GR and serving as director for The Maternal Wellness Program. On the personal side, I am a mom to three amazing children – Malone, Beau & Jocelyn (twins!), and wife to a sweet “Kentucky Boy”. My introduction to motherhood was challenging. I struggled with infertility, postpartum depression/anxiety and a difficult first birth. All these moments in my life set me on my path and passion for birth & postpartum support, and maternal mental health.

We just loved Carrie! She was so knowledgeable, kind, calm and intuitive to our needs, and definitely helped me with some fears I had about trying for a VBAC (I did it!!!). Nobody would regret having her in the birth room with them and I can't imagine not having her with us again if we have more children.

I'm a West Michigan mom of four who married her high school sweetheart and runs on chocolate & peanut butter. As a health educator by degree, my desire to support & champion others flourishes every time I hear a birth story. This fascination I have for all things pregnancy, birth & postpartum that led me to become a doula stems from my own experience advocating for my birth wishes and learning to trust my intuition. I hope every birthing person I meet knows this - your birth experience matters, your intuition is mighty and I will always be your supporter.

Hello! I’m Eva, a Full-Spectrum Doula proudly serving the Michiana area (Northern Indiana/Southern Michigan). My passion for birth work began when I was a teenager and has only grown stronger over the years. Before becoming a doula, I spent many years supporting families as a full-time nanny, building deep connections with parents and children in my community. I later took my passion for birth work to Hannah’s House of Michiana, where I gained invaluable experience working closely with women in various stages of their reproductive journey. In the Fall of 2022, I experienced one of the most transformative moments of my life when I welcomed my son into the world. His birth ignited a powerful, unshakable calling to support other families through their own birth and postpartum journeys. Since then, I’ve had the honor of stepping into my role as a doula in my local community. I believe every person deserves to be supported through their unique birth experience with respect and compassion. Whether you’re preparing for labor, navigating your postpartum transition, or anything in between, I’m here to offer you non-judgmental, evidence-based support that centers you and your family. You are the expert of your body, your birth, and your choices, and my role is to help protect, advocate for, and support your vision for your journey.

Eva is not only a great doula but also a genuinely down to earth and funny person who brings joy and laughter to your pregnancy and birth. She made me feel like the sister I never had was there as well as a knowledgeable and sweet doula. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants solid support, an advocate in their corner and a jovial mood at their birth.

Hello, and welcome. My name is Melissa, and I’m the doula and heart behind Held at Tulia — a space rooted in stillness, strength, and deep presence. “Tulia” means to be calm in Swahili, and that spirit of grounded peace shapes the care I offer. As a full-spectrum doula, I walk alongside you through all the sacred and complex chapters of your reproductive journey — from fertility and birth to postpartum, loss, and every moment in between. My approach is intuitive, nonjudgmental, and rooted in honoring your autonomy and wisdom. As a woman, I understand how vital it is to feel truly seen, heard, and held — especially in moments when the world doesn’t always offer that care freely. I am committed to creating a space where your choices are respected, your identity is affirmed, and your experiences are witnessed with compassion. Whether you're preparing for birth, navigating abortion or loss, healing in postpartum, or simply seeking steady hands and an open heart — you belong here. Held at Tulia is not just a service, but a sanctuary.

Hi! I’m currently a full time night shift registered nurse on a psychiatric medical unit. Throughout nursing school I was a nanny working with a family from birth to almost 2 years of age. I spent most of my adolescence babysitting, volunteering at local elementary schools, and recently was a volunteer for new moms in need. I am used to staying up through the night for work and would love to help a family out during the night.
