About me

My name is Kimmi Schonhorst, and I am a full spectrum queer doula based in Grand Rapids, MI. I aim to provide trauma-informed, identity affirming care to clients. I began this work attending births, and now I focus of caring for new parents & new babies. I offer LGBTQ+ affirming Postpartum Doula Services, Childbirth Education, and Lactation Education. I also love creating pottery and stained glass, training and teaching partner acrobatics, and cuddling with my cats.

Service introduction

I offer in person and virtual Evidence Based Birth childbirth and Birth Savvy classes. Additionally, I offer postpartum care focused on supporting you and your baby. As a Lactation Educator and IBCLC in training, I can provide prenatal lactation education so you can get off to a great start and know what to expect when baby arrives. After baby arrives, I can answer many lactation questions, let you know what is normal, and recommend a visit with a skilled Lactation Consultant when necessary.
