Thandia worked with us during the first six weeks of our son’s life. She was exceptional! She cared for him as one of her own. She taught us so much and made the first couple of weeks of parenthood so much less chaotic. We always felt a massive relief when she walked through the door. We were able to get the rest we needed, allowing us to be much more present during the day. 100% recommend

Rasheada Wallace has been an absolute blessing to my family and me during the birth and early postpartum period of our newborn. From the moment we began working together, Rasheada Wallace exceeded our expectations in every way, offering not just professional support, but genuine care and compassion. Rasheada Wallace demonstrated a deep knowledge of birth and postpartum practices, and I felt completely confident in her expertise. Her calm presence and thoughtful guidance helped us navigate every challenge with grace, whether it was providing emotional support during labor or offering practical advice for newborn care. She always took the time to listen to our concerns, answer our questions, and tailor her approach to meet our unique needs. What truly set Rasheada apart was her unwavering dedication to ensuring our well-being as new parents. Her support didn’t end at birth—she continued to check in, offering advice on breastfeeding, infant sleep, and self-care for me as I recovered. Her encouragement and reassurances were invaluable, and her hands-on assistance with our newborn allowed us to adjust to our new role with much more confidence and peace of mind.

Dia duit, hello! I am Eilís and I am a certified doula and full spectrum birth worker in Philadelphia PA. I have long been drawn to pregnancy and birth, and after the birth of my first baby at 16, I first trained to be a doula in 2005. I apprenticed and assisted with midwives for many years, and am also a trauma-informed social worker, herbalist, yoga teacher, and energy and body worker. I weave my experiences and skill sets together, providing intuitive and tailored physical, informational, educational, mental, emotional, and spiritual supports. I see the role of a doula or monitrice as a steward- someone to tend to and watch over the person, couple, family during labor, birth, and postpartum and providing care and remedies as is fit and called for. Every birth, body, baby is unique and I see it as my role to meet everyone where they're at. Some people need every bell and whistle, some people need their back squeezed for 12 hours, some people need a quiet, confident witness to be present, but hands off. I am here for all of that and everything in between. Outside of birth work, I am a mother to seven and I love to garden, cook, learn Irish, swim in all bodies of water, and overall, just have a good time of it.

Recent review

Eilís was my birth doula for my first child and I couldn't recommend her more! My husband and I felt comfortable immediately the first time we met with her and she met with us several times pre-natal to talk through what I wanted in my birth experience. She was on-call the weeks around my due date and I felt comfortable texting her when I wasn't sure if my contractions had started. Having her with me during labor was so helpful! She offered counter-pressure, suggested positions, helped me navigate decision-making, and talked me through contractions. It was so helpful to have someone on my team with calm confidence. After my baby was born, Eilís met with me several times, she brought me teas, she talked through my birth experience and offered advice on early parenthood. Truly, I would not want to do this again without her!

Hi, my name is Iris, and I am a doula in the Philadelphia area! My driving philosophy is that it takes a village--and for many years, I delved into that through nannying, helping parents care and raise their littles, but now my goal has been to rewind a little--and focus on the foundation of where that starts. With the parents and the births! As a doula, I am here to support you in your journey to parenthood! While that may look different depending on your family's needs, it generally means I am here to support you in figuring out what a satisfying birth looks like to you and to advocate for you during the stress of labor, so that you may focus on the labor itself! So while I am newer to the doula realm, I am a veteran in "being the village" and supporting growing families--I can't wait to support yours! I am currently offering discounts for my first ten clients and payment plans/sliding scale is always available as well! Feel free to email with inquiries regarding services or availability at Imwfamilysupport@gmail.com.

Iris was a great help with our kids this summer! She’s very hands on with whatever activity they’re getting into and has built such a great connection with them. They are always so excited on days she comes in and this is especially true when she brings her daughter—who, as far as they’re concerned, is just there for a playdate! Having the extra hand made such a difference over the 3 months as made the move from our old home to our new one! We wish her the best of luck!

I hired Nia Nchami as a doula for the birth of my second daughter in 2022. After an initial conversation via email, she came to our house and really listened to my concerns, fears and hopes for my delivery. She took extensive notes and created a birth plan that truly encapsulated what I wanted for the birth. We stayed in contact for several months and talked more frequently as my due day neared. When the day came, she was a force of nature. She kept me calm and confident. She helped me to navigate the birthing process. But most importantly, advocated for me with my doctors, nurses and healthcare staff to ensure that I received the best care. I can truly say that I had a much better experience giving birth than the first time and Nia was a big reason why. She is extremely professional, but also calm and caring. I’m so glad that I found her!

I have been so lucky to hire Melissa twice as a doula now and I could not recommend her services enough. She is a wonderful advocate for mothers and truly listened to what I needed. She gave me the space to think about what my needs might be and I don’t think I would have known without her there to ask those questions. She helped prep our whole family in a way where I felt so well cared for. For both of the births Melissa was there for, as soon as she walked in I felt a huge sigh of relief. She was there and she had me and my back and I fully trusted her to guide me. We were also fortunate enough to hire her postpartum doulas! We had the pleasure of working with Veronica, Danielle and Bernadette. Everyone brought different outstanding qualities that were a total joy to experience. They went above and beyond to learn about our families needs and fit right in. I trusted all of them with my postpartum care, cooking meals, giving my husband a break and endless sibling entertainment for my bigger kids so I could snuggle in bed with our new baby. I felt so well supported my body was able to heal physically and I could emotionally take space when needed. There was always round the clock care and they were quick to fill our schedule when I quickly realized I needed more support than I had initially intended. I wish all mothers could experience this kind of care.

Donneta was the best decision we made as a family! As new parents, it was incredibly important to have a newborn care specialist who was very professional and experienced. As a pediatrician training in allergy and immunology, safety was my number one priority and Donneta has far surpassed my expectations. She is dedicated to ensuring my baby and I are very well taken care of. She does all of his laundry, bottle and pump part prep, tidying the house and is overall a very respectful house guest. She is very clean and respectful of our space. I cannot imagine hiring anyone else during this vulnerable time. She is part of our family now.

With over 5 years of international experience, she is passionate about providing compassionate, knowledgeable, and individualized support to families during the postpartum and newborn period. Born and raised in Brazil in a large, loving family, Kamilla grew up surrounded by caregiving. Inspired by her grandmother, a traditional midwife, she developed a deep connection to newborn care, maternal support, and nurturing practices from an early age. Her passion for postpartum care became even more personal after supporting her own mother through postpartum depression. This experience gave her a deeper understanding of how vulnerable, emotional, and overwhelming the postpartum transition can be. Through her professional experience, she has also supported families navigating baby blues and postpartum depression, always providing compassionate, nonjudgmental support while recognizing when additional professional care may be needed. Kamilla has additional training in Montessori Education, Sleep Training through Summer Secret, and Early Childhood Development. She is currently continuing her education in Breastfeeding Education through CAPPA and pursuing her nursing education to further expand her knowledge of maternal and newborn care. With a background in law and extensive hands-on experience caring for newborns and supporting families, Kamilla brings together professional education, practical experience, and genuine compassion. Her goal is to create a calm and supportive environment where parents can rest, recover, bond with their baby, and feel confident in their new role. Kamilla provides individualized support based on each family’s unique needs, with a focus on newborn care, postpartum recovery, sleep support, feeding support, and the emotional well-being of the family. We had the pleasure of having Monica as our postpartum doula after the birth of our second baby. Monica is sweet, caring, and hard working. She supported my feeding goals, whether I wanted her to bring me baby to breastfeed or wanted her to offer baby a bottle so I could get some extra sleep. In addition to helping to care for our newborn, she was a tremendous help with cleaning bottles and pump parts and folding laundry - all the tasks that helped us focus on baby and get some extra sleep. Monica was a big help to us during the postpartum period and we gladly recommend her!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Vania, our certified postpartum doula..She was an absolute godsend during my C-section recovery, providing exceptional care for both our newborn and me. As a certified doula and nursing student, she is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated to what she does. She went above and beyond, helping with newborn care, bottle washing, baby laundry, keeping everything tidy, and preparing nutritious meals to support my recovery. She made it possible for me to truly rest and focus on healing, knowing our baby was in the most loving and capable hands. She is responsible, punctual, trustworthy, and genuinely treats your children as her own. We continue to use her for overnights, and our girls are always overjoyed to see her, which speaks volumes about the special bond she has built with them. She is truly a gem, and I would recommend her without hesitation to any family. We are so grateful to have her in our lives!

October 2026

We are so grateful for the support provided by The Rested Mama Village right after my wife gave birth. We worked with Vânia during the first six weeks of our daughter’s life, and she was absolutely phenomenal. Months later, my wife and I were completely exhausted and reached out to Vânia again for guidance and support with our daughter’s sleep. She was 8 months old at the time, and with Vânia’s guidance and support, it took less than a week for her to start sleeping through the night in her crib. Vânia is genuinely caring, knowledgeable, and truly loves what she does. She made such a positive difference for our family, both during the newborn stage and later when we needed support again. We would highly recommend Vânia to any family looking for compassionate, knowledgeable, and reliable support during the postpartum and newborn stages.

September 2026

Vânia supported our family during the first two months after our baby girl was born, and we truly cannot recommend her enough. As our postpartum doula, she provided both overnight and daytime care, giving me the opportunity to rest and recover while knowing my baby was in wonderful hands. She also supported us later with gentle sleep guidance. I exclusively breastfed, and during the nights she helped with everything from sterilizing pump parts to doing laundry and making sure everything was ready for the next day. What impressed me most was how naturally she understood my daughter's cues and knew when she needed a diaper change, soothing, or help with gas. Everything felt calm and smooth when my baby was with her. Most importantly, as first-time parents, we felt safe and reassured knowing Vânia was there with us. Her knowledge and calm presence gave us so much confidence during those early months. Vânia is knowledgeable, caring, and truly loves what she does. She became part of our village, and we will always be grateful for her.
