Emily specializes in women’s mental health issues and understands the unique set of challenges related specifically to women’s reproductive & maternal mental health. Her specialties in this area include: postpartum depression and anxiety, infertility, life transitions (i.e., adjustment to motherhood, menopause, etc.), trauma, codependency and grief/loss (i.e., miscarriage, stillbirths, etc.). Utilizing education, training and her own life’s experience has proven to be some of the most effective tools and resources in providing her clients with empathy and compassion, a deeper understanding and insight into problems, as well as much needed emotional support, resulting in a great sense of hope and healing. Hello! I am an Utah County birth doula with a specialty in pregnancy and postpartum nutrition. I got my bachelors degree in Health Science from Utah State and worked 2 years at a holistic health clinic. I help women with fertility and preconception. I am passionate about helping women become completely prepared for labor so that it can be a joyful and empowering experience for them. My path to become a doula began with my first powerful and transformative experience giving birth. I left the hospital in awe of my innate strength and what my body could do. Hi, I’m Caryn Allen, certified childbirth educator, birth doula, and postpartum doula. I was born and raised in the Saint Louis, Missouri area but have called Utah my home since 2013. My husband and I met when he came to Missouri to do summer sales, and what started out as a summer romance turned into 14 years of marriage, 5 moves in 3 states, 4 children, 1 dog, and loads of fun. I enjoy board and card games, sewing, crocheting, movie watching, Dungeons and Dragons, and a good camping trip. I have dreams of one day living on a small farm with a variety of animals, doing birth work for animals and humans alike. I believe that birth is one of the most empowering and transformative experiences a woman can ever go through. How she chooses to give birth will affect her mind, body, and spirit for the rest of her life. I passionately believe that knowledge is power, and with that power comes the potential for truly wonderful birthing experiences. I became a birth worker to help women and their partners know and feel empowered in their choices, and to help them feel supported during the beautiful and intimate process of bringing a new life into the world.

I am an RN and IBCLC with 28 years of experience working with breastfeeding moms and babies in hospitals and outpatient clinics. I currently see my clients in the comfort of their own homes. My area of expertise involves working with tongue and lip tied babies before and after release if needed. I believe firmly in supporting my clients, regardless of what feeding method they may choose. The moments to when a friend of mine was delivering her beautiful son , I was there nurturing her, and the little moment of patting her head with a cool cloth was it. It was my moment of emotional connection with women during the most beautiful transition of their story. I have gone through pain of grief in my life that truly has taken me deeper into a true relationship with God and myself. I feel pain when words can not be expressed, I feel love and joy when the words are so exciting nothing can come out. I feel the anxious feeling of the unknown when written in silence. I can’t explain the truth behind it but I know it’s all because God is always working and is calling us to be there for one another. We are not ever meant to do this world alone.
