Hello! My name is Melissa Guerra, and I am a birth and postpartum doula, a certified lactation specialist, a yoga teacher, and a mother to 5 amazing humans. I center my practice around trusting our bodies and using my knowledge of physiological birth, to make labor as smooth as possible. I also view birth as one of the most sacred moments we can experience, and want to make sure each parent experiences that as well. I am passionate about postpartum care as well, and love coming along side families during the transition. I bring my knowledge, experience and caring with me to every postpartum visit. I truly love what I get to do, and consider it nothing less than an honor to share these moments with families.

I am a birth doula and childbirth mentor/educator located in Orange County, CA. The primary focus of my work is to improve birth outcomes for marginalized communities and to reduce (ideally eradicate) birth trauma. My training is mostly through an organization called Birthing From Within and I highly recommend their reading materials for individuals at any stage, from pre-conception to postpartum. My philosophy is that you, the pregnant person, have all of the wisdom and ability within you and we can work together to awaken that within you.

I believe that every person deserves to feel supported in their labor and birth! I want parents to receive evidence based information so they can advocate for themselves and empower their birth through knowledge and experience before even setting foot in the birth space!

I have been a labor and delivery RN for over 30 years and continue to serve the California region as a travel nurse, at which that has been for 11 years. Owning my doula/montrice business in the states of Missouri for 17 years, I feel I can come to California and continue that legacy. Beautiful Birth Memories has been a successful business that offers not only early pregnancy education, but during labor, and after labor education. I have been also privately teaching Lamaze classes for 34 years and have continues to offer my services during this pandemic on a one to one bases with expectant couples.
