Welcome! I'm Bri, a longtime baby whisperer & children's rights advocate. I trained as a Birth Doula in 2017 after supporting a friend through a traumatic pregnancy & loss. After serving my community for several years as a community doula, trainer & facilitator I transitions into postpartum care. In 2019 I received my newborn care specialist training from NCTA, & in 2025 I certified as a postpartum doula also with NCTA. I am also fully vaccinated, infant First Aid & CPR certified and NRP certified. I completed Phase 1 of my midwifery program but am on sabbatical from the program at this time. I believe in approaching client care as a member of your family's team, available to help and support you without judgment. Together we will learn your family's needs and work together to adjust to life at home with your new baby.

Hey there, I’m Ni’Sheerer! I’m the kind of doula who believes birth isn’t just about bringing a baby into the world—it’s about honoring the whole journey, from the first little flutter to those sweet (and sometimes sleepy) postpartum snuggles. My philosophy is simple: every family deserves support that’s both knowledgeable and heart-centered. I combine evidence-based care with a sprinkle of intuition, a lot of listening, and the belief that your birth story should feel empowering, not overwhelming. I’m here to be your cheerleader, your extra set of hands, and sometimes even your snack-fetching, water-refilling, “you’ve got this” voice when things get real. I see birth as a partnership—your body, your baby, your choices—my role is to support and protect that space. Whether it’s helping you find your breath during labor, keeping you company in those quiet postpartum hours, or making sure you get that much-needed nap, I’m all about creating an environment where you feel safe, heard, and cared for. Birth is powerful, parenting is brave, and I’m honored to walk beside you in it all.

Hi there, I am a wife and mother to 3 children. I spend my days staying current on evidence based information about prenatal, peri and postnatal care. I enjoy playing soccer with my kids, cooking, decorating my home for each season and holiday as well as baking and arts and crafts with my kids after school. I have always been enamored with Labor and Delivery! My most favorite thing is to hear others that talk about their birthing experience. Whether it was positive or not, this most intimate time in their lives will always be memorable. As a birth and post partum doula with several other certifications, I make it my mission to help soon to be and returning parents have a positive birth outcome even during unpredictable situations.

I had the honor of walking alongside Christine's journey. She is a bright, loving, encouraging light in this world and a gift to birthing people before and after delivery. She is full of knowledge, experience, ongoing education, mindfulness. She is a lifelong learner seeking to bring the best to others, while practicing the tools she brings to others. She practices with humility, gentleness and inclusivity. She and the services she provides are a gift to families who have just brought new life into this world. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend Judith Christine Stirn!

***FOR INQUIRIES EMAIL***: Hello@mothersisterfriend.org Site:https://www.MotherSisterFriend.org When Brittany became a mom at 19, she recalls feeling afraid, unprepared, and disconnected from herself. She lacked a strong support system, and self-advocacy was a foreign concept to her. All she knew was to follow doctors' orders. So, she suffered through her first HG pregnancy without treatment, showed up at the hospital at the first sign of contractions, and birthed her baby via cesarean for reasons unknown. When she became pregnant with her second child a few years later, she was more intentional in finding a care team to support her in achieving her birth goals. She hired doula-midwives from whom she received all of her prenatal care. Despite Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) and other stressors negatively impacting that pregnancy as well, having an attentive and supportive care team that centered her needs and respected her bodily autonomy influenced a more positive and empowering experience. Inspired by her journey, Brittany felt compelled to pay it forward. She believes everyone deserves a safe, informed and empowering birthing experience. Recognizing the implications of birthing while Black in America, she actively challenges coercive healthcare practices and, alongside many dedicated birth workers, strives to improve the state of Black maternal and infant healthcare.

So many good things I could say but my experience with Brittany was nothing short of amazing!!!! My birth didn't go as planned so instead of a vaginal unmedicated birth I had to have a cesarean. However Brittany explained everything step by step which made me relax a bit. She also helped me prepare a birthing plan for a vaginal as well as a cesarean birth. I've never felt so empowered. One of the very few people that I would entrust with my son while I showered and took some much needed rest with my door shut! No worries at all. A meal prepared and a clean house. As Moms we need our village!!! Thank you for everything! 💙💚 Round 2 lol

I recently became a mother in 2020 and to be honest, I didn’t have a great birth experience. Which is pretty normal. Until I learned that it didn’t have to be this way, which inspired my passion for birth work. I want birthing people to be empowered in their births and have the best experience possible. I approach birth holistically, and I feel honored to be able to share years of expertise with birthing people and their families in the NOVA and Richmond area. Every woman deserves to have someone there to guide and assist them in making educated choices about their pregnancy, and remind them that they can trust the strength of their bodies during this time. I’m here to provide unbiased information and emotional support. Please get in touch to find out more.

Erin is so incredibly helpful! I had been anxious about child birth and my lack of knowledge I had going into it, and she’s given me so much information, shared her own experiences, and helped calm my nerves immensely!!

My philosophy as a doula is that everyone deserves to live out their best intentions. I provide personalized services for those seeking inclusive and comprehensive pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum support. I wish to give you an uplifting experience, free from discrimination and mental health stigma. I strive to create a space that will help you feel actively listened to and emotionally supported.

If you're in need of a doula, I highly recommend Juliann! While she wasn't technically the doula we hired, she stepped in and stepped up for her sister in ways that no one else could. She demonstrated the perfect amount of restraint and support by being the best distraction to Kat (my partner; her sister) when desperately needed....and other times, the rock I just couldn't be....the rock only a sister can be). She knew just what she needed and when, and we intuitively worked with one another to be there for her every step of the way. Going into labor, Kat was sure she didn't want any family in the room while I always felt that as soon as things got rolling, she was going to need her sister. So without any advance notice and with a fully booked schedule and child of her own, Julie dropped everything to travel hours to the hospital (and back a few times while we rested) and be there with Kat until our little one came earth-side. As a queer couple (I'm trans and my partner is non-binary), I can say that there aren't many doula's out there that even recognize that there can be birthing persons with different genders - that include those bodies in these predomenantly/societally female spaces. With Julie, you can be sure that as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, your body, wishes, partner dynamics, pronouns etc will be honored, respected, and uplifted. During our birth, I got to witness Julie as she realized this was her calling. I was moved, touched, and so honored to be able to experience this moment of hers, and I genuinely can say there isn't anyone I'd trust more with your care. While Julie is just starting out in this field, she has a drive to excel and learn, and I'm witnessing firsthand her dedication to becoming an expert in this field.

My name is Ashley and I am a Professional Birth and Postpartum Doula. I am born and raised in VA and engaged to my high school sweetheart. My hobbies include running outdoors, puzzling, and lounging about with my cat, Sardo 🐈. You’ll often find my nose in a book and a seltzer water in hand. I served as a Domestic Violence Advocate within a nonprofit organization for 5 years—My role encompassed the responsibilities of a Night Resident Manager at an emergency shelter, alongside serving as the Children’s Service Coordinator. My professional duties encompassed the provision of in-person emotional support to families in distress, both on-site and via our 24/7 emergency hotline. My ongoing professional development included participation in continuous training programs, notably in areas such as crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and advocacy. My formative professional experiences include a 5 years of service as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at a home health agency, where I engaged with elderly patients, many of whom faced challenges related to dementia and physical limitations. This period of work significantly contributes to my capacity for caregiving and understanding of complex care needs. Furthermore, I maintain my employment as a cook at a respected vegetarian restaurant, a role I have upheld for twelve years . My proficiency in food preparation and safety protocols plays a pivotal role in ensuring the provision of nourishing meals for individuals seeking postpartum services. Hello beloved I am Larice Johnson and I am a certifying full spectrum doula supporting families in Maryland. I have been trained with two different black/POC organizations. My goal in this work is to provide space for black and POC birthers, and birthers in other marginalized communities to safely and comfortably birth in their most ideal way. I believe the only way to ensure safety and comfort throughout pregnancy, during labor/delivery and recovering through postpartum is through education and support. I plan to gather fact-based information and pair it with a gentle touch to advocate for, empower, support and love my clients through this wonderful life altering time. I am currently working with families choosing to birth in hospitals, birthing centers and private residences.
