Highly Recommend Thalia – An Amazing Birth Doula! I had the absolute privilege of having Thalia as my birth doula, and I cannot recommend her enough! Despite being based in Houston, TX, she traveled all the way to Los Angeles to support me during my birth, and her presence made all the difference. From our very first consultation, I knew I was in good hands. Thalia was incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and attentive to my needs, both emotionally and physically. She took the time to understand my birth preferences and offered valuable support and guidance every step of the way. On the big day, she was a calm and reassuring presence, providing me with comfort, strength, and encouragement. Her support allowed me to have a positive and empowered birth experience. I truly believe that having Thalia by my side helped me achieve the birth I had hoped for. If you're looking for a professional, caring, and dedicated doula who goes above and beyond, look no further. I am forever grateful for her support and highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and supportive birth doula. Thank you again, Thalia! You made a huge impact on my birth experience, and I’ll always be thankful for you!

My name Angela Lewis and I am a postpartum doula. I have chosen to be a postpartum doula because I understand the significance of creating a nurturing environment and fostering positive relationships with both parents and newborns. As a mother who suffered postpartum depression, I understand firsthand that new parents may need additional support during the postpartum period. Having a strong support system and providing a nonjudgmental space for families to express concerns about the birthing process, parenthood, and mental health is beneficial in preventing negative outcomes for the parents and the baby.

I have been preparing birthing couples since 2013. Unhappy with the support I received during my first birth, my sister encouraged me to take an independent childbirth class. My second birth was healing and my third birth was empowering. This started my passion for safe, natural when possible, and empowering birth. I have since become trained in Spinning Babies, Rebozo use during labor, Neonatal Resuscitation, and Bengkung belly binding. I have taught over 300 couples and attended dozens of births, either as doula support or as a midwife birth assistant. I am a certified breastfeeding specialist that is currently going through the process of becoming an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). I'm married to my best friend of 10 years and we have 3 vivacious children together. Two of those children are deaf and we enjoy learning ASL and signing together. When I'm not reading articles about birth, I can be found chasing my kids around the park or folding laundry. It’s a toss up. My birth stories are all different from each other. I believe this shapes my teaching. My first birth, I did not know about the Bradley Method®. My mother gave birth in Vietnam without drugs and her only advice was “you just do it”. Because she said she did it, I thought naturally I would be able to and did not consider learning different coping techniques. For my first birth, unable to cope with the pain, I began to hold my breath and tense up. This ultimately caused my labor to stop and I was given Pitocin and the cycle continued. I eventually was given an epidural and my son was born by vacuum extraction. My daughter, my second birth, on the other hand has a completely different birth story. I had a short, six hour labor. I firmly believe learning all the physical exercises, practicing relaxing, and knowing the best birthing positions sped up the birth and caused me to give birth with ease. I was calm and happy after giving birth. By the time the doctor arrived I had already breastfed and my daughter was sleeping peacefully. He was amazed and commented on how we as a family appeared stoic. My third birth was a quick homebirth. I was excited to practice everything I had been teaching! My husband caught our last child and we consider it our best teamwork. Both my husband and I noticed a big difference in how I felt after my last two births. Because of the vast differences in my birth experiences, I feel the need to tell every women. What better way than by becoming a Bradley instructor.

Jaelyn is an angel straight from heaven. I live across the country from my family, and she showed up as my best friend and my family during my delivery and postpartum. She was a tremendous advocate for me during my birth. I was committed to having a natural birth at a birth center, but after 18 hours of labor we had to take it to the hospital because of unavoidable complications. She did absolutely everything to protect and support me at the hospital, while I was pretty much delirious and struggling to make decisions, she was bold and brave standing up from my rights and needs the whole time. For example, the doctors wanted me to go straight to Pitocin to strengthen my ability to push, but Jaelyn knew I wanted to avoid medical interventions, so like a genius she instructed the doctors to give me a breast pump instead because pumping can have the same strengthening effect in an all-natural way. I didn’t even know that, but she did. All through the day and night at the birth center she kept me fed and hydrated, tirelessly held the detachable shower head for me for literally 3 hours straight as I was attempting a water birth, and gave me massages and helped me through all kinds of creative birthing positions. During my extremely challenging birth experience, feeling her hand holding mine was the most comforting and reassuring thing. Her energy was calm always. And then, low and behold postpartum at the hospital, she was my first visitor bringing me a gift bag full of beautiful high quality baby items, a huge bouquet of flowers, and a deluxe fruit tray which I devoured. She’s one of those friends who knows what you need without you having to say anything. She was born to be a doula, and she even remembered my dog’s name and asked about her which cheered me up so much! Plus, with my pregnancy Medicaid all of her services were free! She has a great sense of humor and made me laugh so hard during her hospital visits that they could definitely hear us in the next room! Anyway, God bless you Jaelyn and thank you for treating me with such kindness, love, and respect. And any of you looking for the best doula ever who will seriously have your back, Jaelyn is your girl.

Postpartum can be ROUGH. As individuals, and within our relationships, we are expected to sail through this massive life transition with no emotion, except for unending joy. You don't have to do that with me, you can feel what you feel. Tell me how you're feeling and we can figure out how you can more effectively cope and actually enjoy this time with your baby. No more suffering in silence. There are resources and things that can be done so you can feel better, more like yourself. In addition to postpartum challenges, I work with most facets of reproductive mental health including; infertility, miscarriage, and pregnancy.

I am passionate about all things, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum! I believe that everyone deserves to be informed on all of their options, risks and benefits, of all interventions and procedures. my favorite part about being a Doula is providing birth education to my clients!

Recent review

Jessi was the best doula I could ever ask for. If I had to go through the pregnancy, labor and birth all over again, I would choose her again in a heart beat. Not only did she take the time to answer all my questions, she was a great support when my home birth plans changed to the hospital due to pre eclampsia. She walked me through the risks and benefits of all the interventions that were presented to me. She was a calm and caring presence at the labor and birth that I do desperately needed when my plans changed. I will never be able to explain to her what a great comfort she was to me at the labor and birth. You need her as your doula. You will not be disappointed.

Anastasia, who not only served as our birth doula but also beautifully captured the essence of our child's birth through her extraordinary birth photography. From the moment we connected with Anastasia, we felt an instant sense of trust and comfort. Her warmth, professionalism, and expertise made her an invaluable addition to our birth team. Anastasia's extensive knowledge and experience as a doula were evident throughout the entire process, from providing guidance on relaxation techniques to offering support during the intense contractions. Her calming presence and ability to intuitively anticipate our needs were truly remarkable. What truly sets Anastasia apart, however, is her exceptional talent as a birth photographer. She possesses a unique ability to blend into the background while still capturing the most intimate and emotional moments of our child's birth. The images she took are not only breathtaking but also tell a story that we will cherish for a lifetime. Anastasia went above and beyond to ensure that our experience was as stress-free and memorable as possible. Her unwavering support and dedication have left an indelible mark on our hearts, and we are forever grateful for her role in welcoming our little one into the world. If you are searching for a doula and birth photographer who will be there every step of the way, ensuring that you feel supported, informed, and empowered, look no further than Anastasia. Thank you, Anastasia, for being an integral part of our amazing birth experience. With heartfelt gratitude, The jones
