I first got into birth work after a tough delivery with my first little. I knew birth wasn’t meant to be scary. Birth is a transformative, inceredibly sacred experience that should be honored and not feared. In 2022 I left my job working for a federaly recognized tribe to persue birth work. Hello! My name is Marcela and from a young age I’ve felt a calling to help those who cannot speak for themselves, this is why I initially became a Veterinarian Technician. After enjoying that field for many years I wanted to specialize in OB/GYN sonography. Plans were put on hold as I welcomed my blessing. During my pregnancy I took all sorts of classes to prepare for birth, but, when it came to the hospital, things didn’t go as planned and I was stripped from my birth rights ! I never want another mother to feel the way I felt or be treated the way I was. Every woman deserves to feel empowered, supported and loved throughout their pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum and lactation journey. Becoming a mother has been the most amazing experience of my life! Watching my daughter grow from a tiny baby in my belly to the beautiful little sunflower she is today has been truly incredible. Now that she’s 5 years old, I know I still have so much to learn as she continues to grow, but I’m beyond grateful to have her in my life. With my extensive experience caring for children since a young age, I’ve worked in after-school programs, summer camps, and preschools since 2015. Caring for children is something I’ve always loved and admired. I am now certified as a Doula and look forward to providing services to elevate and advocate for mothers, especially by offering postpartum/prenatal care. It’s my mission to support women as they navigate this beautiful but sometimes overwhelming journey of motherhood. Rosalie began attending births in 2018 as a student midwife and has supported many women through the transformative journey of the childbearing year. She hopes to provide competent care in a space where women can feel safe, bestowing mothers with a deeper understanding of pregnancy and birth, which in turn will help them find their power to make the best decisions for themselves and their family.
