In 2011 I was trained as a (DONA international) Doula. Since then I was trained in Hypnobirthing methods, Belly binding, Abhyanga massage, natural doctoring, and other holistic practices. I have attended many different types of births, including hospital, home and birthing center births. I also offer in person and virtual child birth education and preparation. Hi! My name is Sara, I am a Registered Nurse (RN-BSN) and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I am also a mother of two and a military spouse. When breastfeeding both of my children I was not prepared for all of the issues that could occur! Milk supply concerns, pumping when returning to work, clogged ducts, fussy baby, the list goes on! I have years of experience in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as well as the Newborn Nursery. Being a nurse and working with babies is where I am meant to be! While working in the NICU I found my passion for helping breastfeeding mothers. So I decided to study to become a Lactation Consultant. This allowed me to provide the best care for mothers and babies struggling with lactation issues. I absolutely LOVE being able to assist mothers initiate breastfeeding with their babies in the hospital setting. But I know when you leave the hospital some new challenges may arise. Prior to becoming an IBCLC, I was a breastfeeding mother of two. I struggled to breastfeed my first born and I was so determined to make it work!
