I am a DONA certified and Medi-Cal approved birth doula and mother of two. I believe birth is a natural physiological process, and a sacred passage: for mother, parents, baby, and family. I understand pregnancy and childbirth to be a deeply transformative time. As a Christian, I celebrate every baby born into the world as a unique and precious gift from God. My passion to become a birth doula grew from witnessing my nephew's birth and then having two boys of my own. Like many women, I was fearful of childbirth due to my limited understanding. Birth was rarely talked about by the women in my life and if it was, pain was typically the main subject. Watching my nephew’s birth showed me that birth can be beautiful. I believe that as women, our bodies were designed by God to birth well. While complications do happen, they are not the rule. Birth is a natural physiological process. It is hard work and can be uncomfortable or painful, but that is not all. Birth is a transformative, life changing experience no matter how it happens: unmedicated or medicated, vaginal or cesarean, home birth, birth center, or hospital.

As a Doula and birth worker, I'm committed to supporting you physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I've given birth to two beautiful babies (who are now grown/and almost grown) and I could not have done it without my doula. I have a Bachelors of Science in Human Environmental Sciences – which equates to commercial interior design - but childbirth is my passion. I have been teaching childbirth classes in The Bradley Method ® in Long Beach, California since 2011. In 2012, I became a certified Doula and have since had the honor of witnessing over 350 births. It is my goal to empower women and their partners, through positive education, to give birth in the most natural way possible. Hello Parents, I decided to begin my service as a Postpartum Doula because I have a passion for the wellness of women and children. I worked before as a Youth Liasion advocating for young people who battled homelessness. In my service, I met with several clients with little ones and they lacked the necessary resources to care for their children. I noticed the emotional strain that was placed on the mothers so I would help out where I could. I love spending time with children so I made the decision to become educated. My philosophy is this: you are not alone and it is perfectly fine to not know. You have support and you deserve it. Hi, I'm Jaime! As a postpartum doula, PCD(DONA), I support new families with educational, emotional, and physical support. Within the unique needs of each family, I aim to establish an environment that promotes bonding, healing, and rest, while also educating on infant feeding, newborn care, family integration, baby milestones, and sleep. Hello there! My name is Cynthia Alvarado and I identify as she/her. I'm happily married to a wonderful man, and we have a beautiful 12-year-old boy, who is currently in middle school. My journey in Baby Night Care began in 2011 when a dear friend of mine, who is a Doula, recommended that I take a Doula training course. At that time, I had no idea what a doula was, but I was fascinated when she explained it to me. I loved babies and was excited to work with them and nurture families in their postpartum journey. When I took my doula training, I was eighteen and pregnant with my son Julian Alvarado! Julian was my first experience with newborns, and it was an incredible experience for me. As I was young and had no work experience, I started as a part-time daytime nanny. Later on, I began doing night nanny work while still working daytime. I slowly started building my experience and resume, and eventually started working full-time night-time only as a postpartum doula. Since then, I have continued my education in newborn and postpartum care, and I've become a Certified Doula, a Certified Newborn Specialist, a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, and I've earned a degree in Child Development, specializing in infant care. I have been working with families for over ten years now, and I absolutely love it. I have combined all my careers to provide personalized care that fulfills each family's unique needs. My Story I am New York native, living in Los Angeles now for the last 15 years. I am a proud mom to my 6 six boys (age 5 to 21) so for a long time I was either pregnant or breastfeeding. Each baby breastfed for a different duration of time depending on what was going on in my life then and I enjoyed every minute of it. As my boys grew older I was on the search for a new career so I started searching. After exploring various career options, and helping some new mom friends along the way I set my eyes on becoming a Lactation Consultant. This profession combines my passions for babies, breastfeeding and helping others. I so enjoyed my breastfeeding experiences with my babies and wished the same for all moms. So, in my 30's and mom of 5 at the time, I returned to school. After completing my prerequisites, I joined the LC program at UCSD and finally became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2019. ​
