**If you are unable to afford a doula, I offer low to no cost service every month to a limited amount of families. Let me be your personal hype woman. I am an Air Force Veteran turned Birth Worker. I became a doula because while in the military, I was displaced from having a support system. When I got pregnant, I had to give birth in a community that looked nothing like me. I was also wildly uninformed about the rates of maternal morbidity amongst black women. These coupled ideas made me feel really uneasy about my birthing experience. I wanted to make a difference after my experience and becoming a doula turned out to be my life's passion. I pride myself on being open-minded, spiritual, and will provide you with a calm reassuring presence during your pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum.

My name is Joy Lynn, a birth doula in DFW. I feel confident and called to support mothers as they birth their sweet babies; to empower women as new mothers are born. A little bit about myself: I recently began my journey to become a birth doula, with aspirations to pursue midwifery school and eventually become a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). I’ve always found the processes of pregnancy and birth to be such miraculous things, which is why I am so excited to be supporting mothers in this special way. Pregnancy, birth, and the beauty of new life are truly "glorious things!" The choice to pursue birth work sprouted after I began volunteering at a pregnancy resource center.
