In my case, my passion for birth work stems from personal experience as a wife and mother of two beautiful souls. The miraculous and empowering births I experienced sparked within me a desire to guide and support others on their own journeys through pregnancy and childbirth. However, my path to becoming a birth doula was not without obstacles. Before conceiving my oldest, I faced some difficult pregnancy losses. To help heal and cope with these losses, I turned to writing and expressed my feelings through a love letter or poem dedicated to my future rainbow baby. This experience not only brought me solace, but also deepened my understanding and empathy for other women facing similar struggles. It was this profound sense of empathy and the desire to support and empower women that ultimately inspired me to become a birth doula. With every client I work with, I am reminded of the importance of providing emotional, physical, and informational support during such a transformative time in a woman's life. I am a widowed mother of four children between the ages of 19 and 22 who were born within three years. My first birth was at age 35 with a female physician in rural Maine, who was previously a midwife. I also had a female prenatal and postpartum doula who helped me find my confidence as a new mother. My second birth was a mandatory cesarean for breech & transverse presentation of fraternal male twins at age 38. Although the male physician would not grant requested delayed cord clamping, I was permitted to take the placentas home to plant a tree in honor of the birth. My fourth child was born in my 40th year as a rapid fire VBAC at a freestanding birth center with a midwife and doula in attendance. I have served as a pre-partum and postpartum doula, and am an experienced night nanny with a high success rate with sleep training. I do not adhere to any particular philosophy, serving only to support parents and caregivers with strengthening their own parental instincts. It is my practice to mirror the customs of the household, however shabbily chic, or with the spices alphabetized in the cabinet:) Experienced with serving post partum after traumatic births.

Prinscilla Moore CPD CLE CNPE, is the founder of Delighted to Doula Birth Services. For as long as she can remember, supporting and educating families has been her passion. Prinscilla believes all families should be properly educated and equipped with the knowledge and tools they need in preparation for postpartum and infant care. Prinscilla is a wife, mother of four beautiful girls, and a grandmother. Prinscilla decided to pursue her passion professionally by becoming a doula.
