After dedicating 23 years to being a stay-at-home mom for my three children, I made a significant decision in November 2022 to channel my time and energy into pursuing my passion for becoming a labor and birth doula. Reflecting on my own four deliveries, I realized the immense value a doula could have provided by offering education, empowerment, and encouragement to advocate for myself. I chose the certification program aligned with my goals, completing 27 hours of in-person learning. Throughout 2023, I delved into extensive reading, writing, and research to enhance my knowledge and capabilities, culminating in my first doula experience at the end of the year.

Hello there! My name is Jess Harrell and I am an RN, IBCLC in the northwest Georgia region. As an IBCLC I am experienced with both in-person, virtual, and telephone lactation consultations. A little about myself! My journey in healthcare started in the ER as a patient care tech, and I became an RN in 2010. Shortly after obtaining my RN I stepped into the world of Women's Health. I have practiced in multiple arenas of Women's Health such as: mother/baby, newborn admission and nursery, labor and delivery, OB-GYN office, and lactation consultation. My journey with breastfeeding was brought on when I faced my own personal struggles with breastfeeding my first baby. I struggled with postpartum depression during that time and I did not feel that I had enough support from personal relationships nor from clinical providers. Because of this experience I became very passionate about providing support to other breastfeeding families. I never another struggling family to feel that they do not have the support and resources to reach their breastfeeding goals! I am married and we have 2 children and 3 pups! I enjoy nature, crochet, and reading. I love working with breastfeeding families and being a source of support and camaraderie with my families. I look forward to working with you!
