Hello, my name is Crystal Lopez and I am a PCD through DONA. I have been serving families in the community as a postpartum doula for the past 2 years. I am a mother to three beautiful children. I am also a lover of the arts and anything that has to do with self-expression. Fashion and Makeup are some of my favorites!! I love the theater and also indulge in live music of all genres. I love documentaries and learning about different cultures. I am a stargazer and nature lover and also grew up in the country on a ranch. There's nothing like the sound of crickets and a black sky full of stars to help heal the soul. My eldest daughter is going to be 21 years old. As a new mother I found myself with so many questions about the birthing process. I took it upon myself to educate myself and attend birthing classes with the San Antonio birth doulas 21 years ago. It was then that I discovered my love for educating women about birthing and their choice to do so. I have since had two other children with the aid from doulas through SABD and 2 years ago was given the opportunity to help grow the postpartum program through that organization. I discovered the power and importance of mothering the mother after she returns home from the hospital. I learned that support during the postpartum period is very crucial and needed although speaking about it seemed taboo. I have served over 100 families both in and out of work, and each one was more enlightening and empowering on both of our ends.

Hi! I'm Noelle and I'm a birth and postpartum doula. I was born and raised on an island off the coast of Maine and grew up with Acadia National Park as my backyard. As a former Air Force spouse, I have traveled and lived in some of the most beautiful places in the United States. My family and I moved to San Antonio in 2019. I enjoy spending my free time with my 3 wonderful kiddos, big fur baby goldendoodle, and husband. I love to read, hike, travel, and bake. As a former military spouse, I realized the resources and support available to those families were limited. I gave birth to my first baby far away from my friends/family in a new place. I suffered from PPD/PPA and a few years later as a part of my healing, I decided to look into how I could help others like me. I switched my career field and became a doula -- immediately I knew I was doing the work that healed my soul and would help so many others.

Hi there! My name is Ashleigh Berry and I was born and raised in San Antonio! I am a mother, doula, wife, Jesus lover, gym shark and pastry connoisseur. I love all things nature and outdoors - minus the heat and mosquitos. My family and my faith are a huge part of my life. When I’m not at a birth, at church or in the gym, you can find me dancing in the kitchen with my hubby and toddler. We’re a spontaneous and adventurous family, always trying new things and constantly making s’mores in the backyard. Life is a precious gift and I’m always finding ways to soak it all in. The deep desire to serve and love on mamas during a crucial time in their lives. That’s what brought me to doula work. The longing to help make every birth beautiful - to help every birthing person be heard and cared for. Before I was a doula, I worked briefly at the Freeman Coliseum and a bridal expo! But the Lord called me elsewhere. I love what I do - it would be a dream come true to be able to do this forever.

Hello! I’m Taryn, a birth and postpartum doula born and raised great city of San Antonio! I have been a certified doula since 2022! I have a passion for helping women during the most intimate and vulnerable moments of their lives. By being a doula, I strive to help women find their voice to have a birth experience they can look back on with joy and confidence. I am married to the most wonderful man ever created (yes, I am bias), and together we have been blessed to raise two wonderful children: Ezra and Winnifred. We also have a gigantic white fluffball cat named Bento who loves to eat any type of food (even salads…). Outside of doula work, you will find me gardening, crafting, and playing board and video games! Additionally, I am obsessed with bread baking, and have a sourdough starter that has been alive longer than my kids! In February 2020, my husband and I were blessed to learn we were pregnant. One month later, the world completely shut down. With the unknowns of COVID, hospitals were continually changing policies on who would be allowed to support a mother during birth. With the fear of not having my husband with me, my research on alternatives began. Through my research, I learned about doulas, birth centers, home births, and unmedicated births. I learned that childbirth can be beautiful and joyful with the right support, and I wanted to become that support for other mothers and empower them to be their own voice! Both of my births were very different; one ending in a c-section the other a VBAC. Both have helped me secure my passion for this line of work. After working as a Financial Analyst Manger for a major company, my husband and I decided to take a step of faith and go down a new path. A more rewarding path. A path I know provides true value to our community.

My name is Allie Contreras. I am an army Brat, I was born in Germany and raised in the south and El Paso, TX. I have been a certified Doula since 2022. I am married to my best friend, he is my person, and truly understands and supports our family. We have two amazing kids Evelyn (9) and Logan (6). They are my reason for being and keep me going in life. My hobbies are going to the gym and listening to podcasts and books. I also started Midwifery school May 2023! I love women's health and learning all that I can about it! I started my journey with birth work in 2007 after watching the Business of Being Born. After two unmedicated births, one home birth myself, my love of birth continued to grow. My midwife and doula showed me what it was to truly mother and mother myself. I overcame Postpartum Anxiety, and looked into what a Doula was and what role they played in the birth team. When my father died in October 2021, I realized how much we truly need to cherish life and to follow our passions. I had been a Cosmetologist and Esthetician for 10 years and finally took the leap into birth work! It has been joyous and eye opening. I truly feel called to this work. I feel happiest serving others, and I am very passionate about serving LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC families. I want to emotionally support, because I was not given that. I have worked for rescue missions and the child crisis center. To be able to help a birthing person during the most transformative moments is a privilege.

Hi everyone! I’m Megan, and I lead Rooted Birth. I have been a doula and childbirth educator in the San Antonio area since 2017. I am also a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist and I’m studying for my board certification as a lactation consultant. I have a husband, 3 kids, one cat (who we named Albus Dumbledore because of his white beard), and an Aussiedoodle named Zoey. If I’m not working or hanging out with my family, you’ll find me listening to podcasts and audiobooks, practicing pottery, watching reality TV, or doing yoga. I also fancy myself one day winning Star Baker on The Great British Bake-Off. But I’m not British, so that’s one hurdle!

Hello. My name is Yolyvette Boston, or Yoly for short. I am a Labor Doula, Birth Photographer and Student Midwife. I have been a doula for 3 years and prioritize the knowledge needed to enhance the support received during your birth. I was born in Puerto Rico, but San Antonio has been home for over a decade. I married my best friend Aaron, and we have a beautiful son named Noah. Being the last of six, I have been exposed to multiple pregnancies from a young age. Being present for my sisters ignited a fire and motivated me to continue to empower and support every pregnant person. I witnessed my first cesarean at 16 years of age, and it was an instant confirmation from the universe that I am meant to assist expecting families. Every pregnancy and labor experience is unique, and that is the beauty of it. No matter how many births or families you assist, they are all special in different ways. At times, the birthing person may want to give up, but all they need is a little motivation and support to flourish. Seeing mothers surrender to their bodies and finding the strength and power within when they want to quit has to be what I love witnessing the most. There is nothing like seeing how proud the birthing person gets afterward- as they should because they are amazing! Birth Photography allows me to freeze those beautiful emotions while you are meeting your little one. Those tiny toes quickly turn into smelly feet, but the pictures last a lifetime. After my own pregnancy during covid in 2021, I quickly realized knowledge is fundamental. When hospital policies are activated many of those on your birth team are replaceable. Now I strive to help your partner be the doula you need and prepare them as much I prepare the birthing person. I strive to be all-inclusive and helping all people. I am especially passionate about helping people of color, all genders, and military families. I was born into a military family, and I know family is not always around to help. Whether you are one hour away from the place you call “home” or a thousand miles, you do not have to do it alone. It does not matter what your birth plans are; you deserve to be respected, heard, encouraged, and supported during and after your pregnancy. I am also fluently bilingual in Spanish and English.

When I introduce myself I share that I’m ’Light, Love, and a Bringer of Peace!’ I am the mom to three of the most creative, charismatic, intelligent, joyful and loving children: Victoria, Vivienne, and Arjun… As LEGO-enthusiast, we often spend a lot of time working on sets! My youngest two children, are almost 24-months apart but are often mistaken as twins due to my middle child’s short stature and complex medical needs. As an educator, medical momma, and life-long learner I have made it my mission to be a resource in the community for those who need love and support. Hiking, Cooking/Baking and Creating art in various forms and helping others are my love languages! My greatest glimmer (sparkles for joy) are Plants! I am a Plant Momma to Many, and a Dog momma to one Puppy named Bluu!

Hey, I’m Tess! I’m a birth and postpartum doula and placenta encapsulation specialist. I’ve been a birth worker since 2020 and have been serving moms in San Antonio since 2021. I married my best friend and we are raising our 4 beautiful kids, 2 of them are autistic, along with a few chickens. We love spending our time outside whenever we can whether that’s in the garden, on a trail or at the park. My aunt had 2 home births when I was a kid so from an early age I knew birth was beautiful, normal, and full of options and choices. When I got pregnant with my first, I researched everything from birth to baby soap but I still felt unsupported, uneducated and unprepared- especially as a first time mom and military wife with no family near me. I went a different route with my second birth which led me to dive deeper into the birth world and eventually becoming a doula was a natural next step for the knowledge and passion I was starting to culture and grow into. Knowing firsthand how important it is to feel seen, heard, supported, prepared and encouraged- I get the privilege of working with families to help them achieve that. I love getting to walk alongside families through such a life changing transition. Placenta encapsulation allows me to offer a different kind of support where I can also honor and memorialize something that sustained life and connected mom to baby before they ever got to meet each other.

I'm a mom of 4 & Nana of 1, married to my soulmate for almost 24 years. Proud to be an Air Force veteran, I was Active duty when my first was born. Her birth was eye opening... and the reason I sought out different options for my second birth. My second was the first of 3 redeeming and beautiful home births, and that experience is what ignited my passion for birth. I wanted to be a midwife for several years but that wasn't in the cards. It was years later, shortly after making the move to pursue photography, that I found my passion in birth photography. From there, my desire to support and encourage birthing families only grew, and I sought out certification as a doula. Obviously I love being there when a sweet little soul makes its debut. It's more than that though! As a birth worker, I have the honor and privilege of witnessing transformations. That realization that they are able, that they are doing it, that they are about to meet their long awaited babies... that they CAN do hard things. That moment is worth the sleepless nights, sore muscles, and changed plans. That moment of empowerment and transformation brings a tear to my eyes. It never gets old. I specialize in documenting birth in photos and films as well as supporting through labor and birth. My name is Sophie Perkins and I grew up in Kerrville, TX. I have been practicing as a doula since 2020, and I have fallen in love with this work. I have no children of my own, but my wonderful girlfriend and I have plans to expand our family. While I hope to be able to carry a child, we are very excited about the prospect of adopting or fostering children! My hobbies include spending time with my partner and pets, renovating our home, and reading. In 2016, a friend of mine got pregnant and hired a doula. Hearing her birth story was such a privilege and an eye opening experience! As the months passed, she shared with me honestly what it was like being a new mom–the sleep deprivation, confusion, visceral joy and love of having a child. I felt so honored that she would trust me, and I was inspired to find my place beside families as they welcome new children. I looked into doula work and was hooked immediately. After I was trained, I knew with certainty that I had found my passion.

Hi everyone!! I’m Micaela! I have been practicing as a postpartum doula for almost 2 years and I’ve been a certified postpartum doula for almost a year! I am a single momma to my 3 year old son named Tobias! If I’m not chasing my wild child around, you’ll find me cuddled up on the couch watching some reality tv, maybe reading a good book, or in a coffee shop enjoying an over priced coffee. I also enjoy being outdoors, taking my son anywhere that will get all of his energy out, or hanging out with some like minded friends who are apart of my village as much as I’m apart of theirs! I had my son as a single, young, 18 year old woman. I was incredibly lost and didn’t know what I was doing(even though I had taken care of countless babies) I didn’t know how to handle it on my own. Megan Taylor was my doula and that was my first look into what support looks like during childbirth and even after!! I had already known I loved children and working with babies( I have been doing it since I was 13) but what I didn’t know was how much I enjoyed serving families and mamas who are stuck and exhausted just like I once was. My calling became clear to me once I began my relationship with Christ! His calling on my life and doing his good work is why I decided to become certified, so I could continue living out my passion and serve so many other women just like I was once served!

I am a birth doula with certifications from DONA, Hypnobabies, and Stillbirthday. I am also certified in TENS usage and have my own units to use with my clients. I strive to educate, empower and support with a calm, quiet atmosphere, upholding the desires of the birthing person. I am also a certified Spinning Babies Parent Educator and a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (this means a carseat expert!) As a retired teacher and Air Force spouse, with seven children and two grandchildren, I have experienced a wide variety of personal birth scenarios and am particularly drawn to help military wives and those without family nearby.
