About Rachel

I am a birth doula with certifications from DONA, Hypnobabies, and Stillbirthday. I am also certified in TENS usage and have my own units to use with my clients. I strive to educate, empower and support with a calm, quiet atmosphere, upholding the desires of the birthing person. I am also a certified Spinning Babies Parent Educator and a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (this means a carseat expert!) As a retired teacher and Air Force spouse, with seven children and two grandchildren, I have experienced a wide variety of personal birth scenarios and am particularly drawn to help military wives and those without family nearby. I look forward to meeting you!

Birth Doula

The Birth Doula Package includes three prenatal visits- one of which is an official SpinningI’m Babies Parent Course-AND a six week Evidence Based Birth Childbirth Education series, Constant, in person support once active labor has begun, and one postpartum visit. I block out two weeks prior and post estimated due date. I am always available via text once a contract has been signed. $250.00 deposit required at signing, balance paid by 36 weeks. Payment plans available.

Spinning Babies Parent Education Course

This course is a three hour interactive, hands on class designed to help couples learn birth anatomy and activities that will help achieve optimal baby positioning for comfort in pregnancy and ease in birth!

What to expect

I will meet with you at least three times before labor begins, one meeting will be a three hour official Spinning Babies Parent Education course! During these meetings we go over all the ways to prepare mentally and physically for the birth you envision, as well as the birth you may not expect! Providing constant, in person support once you are in active labor and education and support as you begin your breastfeeding relationship, as well as a postpartum visit are all aspects of my service. Hypnobabies, TENS usage, birth anatomy and how the body works, nutrition, hydration, mindfulness, meditation, activities to promote comfort during pregnancy and creating a postpartum plan in addition to a birth plan are some of the topics you can be sure we will cover- but YOU will be the one who drives the focus of our meetings because I am here for YOU.

Goodness, where do I begin? I hope to convey how much Rachel truly means to our family but I'll start off by saying there aren't enough characters to express my love and gratitude for her. From the moment my husband and I first met her, we knew she was the perfect person to support us as we prepared to welcome our sweet son. After each prenatal visit, I left our conversation feeling more empowered, educated and excited for labor than before. She lovingly shared her wisdom not only as a doula but as a mother of 7 children. When I went into labor (18 days early) she showed up promptly and provided such a peace and strength that was present without words. She quietly rubbed my back, reassured me when I doubted myself, and relieved my nausea with essential oils. She stood back to allow my husband to be the main support. In order to limit the amount of people attending my son's birth I was unable to invite a photographer. Rachel stepped up and took some of the most beautiful photos I have ever seen. Looking at them, you'd never know I didn't have a professional photographer present. Rachel followed up with me and continued to check in weeks after I had given birth. We had a virtual visit and we discussed my son's birth and she filled in the pieces that weren't as clear in my memory. She not only encouraged me but my husband as well. I don't know what we would have done had we not had Rachel's support. Rachel and her mini fan are unstoppable. I can't recommend her enough. She is divinely gifted and we will certainly request her services for my future pregnancies.

I moved from another state with my husband and two small children in the middle of my pregnancy and had prepared to deliver alone. Then I found Rachel, and she was a blessing in disguise. She was amazing. She provided me with information and resources, Antepartum. She was encouraging and listened to me while in labor. After I developed complications, she returned to my side, no questions asked, and advocated for me when I felt discouraged. I can not recommend her enough. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose Rachel????

Rachel was everything you could hope for in a doula and more! She is kind, courteous, thoughtful, caring, supportive, professional, and a wealth of knowledge ?? She provided so many helpful tips and methods throughout my pregnancy, labor (TENS unit!), breastfeeding (battling mastitis), and postpartum journeys! She was an invaluable resource for my family as we prepared for and welcomed our 3rd baby, but even more than that, she became a trusted friend and mother figure to me. I cannot recommend Rachel enough!!!
