Hello! My name is Serena, and I am a labor doula, placenta encapsulator, and postpartum doula! I have 3 dogs and 2 cats, and if I’m not working I'm usually with them watching TV. My all time favorite shows are Doctor Who and New Girl, though I’m sure you’d have a hard time finding a show I haven’t seen! I also enjoy reading, hiking, playing games, and spending time with my family. My first step into the doula world was becoming a Postpartum doula. This felt very natural to me, as I have been working in childcare for what feels like my whole life! I started off babysitting for my siblings and my parent’s friends when I was younger, became a teacher in the infant room of a daycare at 18, and a postpartum doula at 21. I decided to step into this field because I love helping families adjust to having a new little one! Supporting labor and delivery was a natural transition as I began working as a doula and stepping more and more into the birthing world. Labor and delivery is truly one of the most beautiful and fascinating events I’ve had the honor of witnessing, and I knew instantly that this is exactly what I was meant to do. That’s such a hard question to answer! For postpartum work, I’d have to say it’s the moments when something finally clicks into place. There's always some trial and error with each baby since they each have their own preferences and personalities, but I love the moments when you figure out how they like to be burped, the quickest way to get them sleeping, which formula works for them, and everything in between! I know it's not possible for me to fix every problem that arises, but it always such a relief when I can help with one. Adjusting to this new chapter of your life can be such a chaotic time, and I truly believe it takes a village! For birth work, my favorite part is seeing birthing people reach deep inside themselves and finding strength they never knew they had. The absolute relief and joy I can see on their face as they hold their little one in their arms for the first time always brings tears to my eyes.

Hi! I'm Noelle and I'm a birth and postpartum doula. I was born and raised on an island off the coast of Maine and grew up with Acadia National Park as my backyard. As a former Air Force spouse, I have traveled and lived in some of the most beautiful places in the United States. My family and I moved to San Antonio in 2019. I enjoy spending my free time with my 3 wonderful kiddos, big fur baby goldendoodle, and husband. I love to read, hike, travel, and bake. As a former military spouse, I realized the resources and support available to those families were limited. I gave birth to my first baby far away from my friends/family in a new place. I suffered from PPD/PPA and a few years later as a part of my healing, I decided to look into how I could help others like me. I switched my career field and became a doula -- immediately I knew I was doing the work that healed my soul and would help so many others.

Hello! I’m Taryn, a birth and postpartum doula born and raised great city of San Antonio! I have been a certified doula since 2022! I have a passion for helping women during the most intimate and vulnerable moments of their lives. By being a doula, I strive to help women find their voice to have a birth experience they can look back on with joy and confidence. I am married to the most wonderful man ever created (yes, I am bias), and together we have been blessed to raise two wonderful children: Ezra and Winnifred. We also have a gigantic white fluffball cat named Bento who loves to eat any type of food (even salads…). Outside of doula work, you will find me gardening, crafting, and playing board and video games! Additionally, I am obsessed with bread baking, and have a sourdough starter that has been alive longer than my kids! In February 2020, my husband and I were blessed to learn we were pregnant. One month later, the world completely shut down. With the unknowns of COVID, hospitals were continually changing policies on who would be allowed to support a mother during birth. With the fear of not having my husband with me, my research on alternatives began. Through my research, I learned about doulas, birth centers, home births, and unmedicated births. I learned that childbirth can be beautiful and joyful with the right support, and I wanted to become that support for other mothers and empower them to be their own voice! Both of my births were very different; one ending in a c-section the other a VBAC. Both have helped me secure my passion for this line of work. After working as a Financial Analyst Manger for a major company, my husband and I decided to take a step of faith and go down a new path. A more rewarding path. A path I know provides true value to our community.

Hi everyone! I’m Megan, and I lead Rooted Birth. I have been a doula and childbirth educator in the San Antonio area since 2017. I am also a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist and I’m studying for my board certification as a lactation consultant. I have a husband, 3 kids, one cat (who we named Albus Dumbledore because of his white beard), and an Aussiedoodle named Zoey. If I’m not working or hanging out with my family, you’ll find me listening to podcasts and audiobooks, practicing pottery, watching reality TV, or doing yoga. I also fancy myself one day winning Star Baker on The Great British Bake-Off. But I’m not British, so that’s one hurdle!

A little bit about myself! I was born in Kansas, raised in Colorado! I moved to Texas in the summer of 2009. I have been a Postpartum and Birth Doula since 2021. Before be coming a doula I received a child development associates degree and became a preschool teacher for 8 years I also ran my own home daycare for a little over a year and I was a private nanny for 2 special needs children. I have a wonderful spouse and 5 beautiful children that are ages 17, 15, 11, 6 and 19 months old! As a family we all enjoy being outdoors, camping, going to the beach, and swimming in the Texas summers! I am a foodie and love going and trying local food trucks! My spouse and I also run our own food pop-up business here in San Antonio! I love being to be able to provide good nurturing meals for people! I became a doula after my own childbirth experiences. I was a teen mom at 15 years old and I didn't really feel supported by the health care system, at that time my mom was around and was very supportive of me and my choices to be a teen mom. But before my 3rd child was born my mom sadly passed away and I felt really alone during that Birth and Postpartum period because I really didn't have that motherly support during that season in my life. After my 4th pregnancy I found out about doulas and was able to have one with me during my birth she was an amazing advocate and helped me navigate so much through my all natrual birth wishes and also taught me how to advocate for myself. After that I knew my calling was to be a doula!! I love listening and supporting new moms any way I can. I feel all expecting parents deserve to have a trusted person that they won't be judged by so that they can feel comfortable asking questions and advice.

I homeschool my children, and in my free time I love to travel, explore nature, listen to music, and catch up on TV. I have a bachelor’s degree and I am currently going to school to become a Registered Nurse. After my second child, I realized how important it is to have a village. I believe if I had a postpartum doula, my fourth trimester would have been completely different. There are so many women that don’t have a good support system, even though everyone deserves one. Being able to help my family members and friends who were postpartum has been such a rewarding experience; it led me to seek out formal training in doula work so I could make a career out of helping people.

I found my calling in birth work at the young age of 16, where I was present at at a family members birth, and never looked back! After studying Biology at Temple University and devoting a portion of my life to modern medicine, I found a passion in Ethnobotany, which led to applying a more holistic approach to women’s health- -hyper focused on women’s reproductive health. I aid women in womb wellness through overall health and herbal healing by way of yoni steaming, abdominal chirapsia, and nutrition counseling. My doula duties are universally geared toward family-directed, physiologic childbirth, antenatal and postpartum care, newborn care, herbal remedies, reproductive care(pre-conception to postpartum) and placenta medicine. 

Saron is a mom of 3 who has experience with birth in and out of the hospital. A birth and postpartum doula who also teaches childbirth ed, and babywearing classes. In her free time she loves cooking and playing games with her children and she’s a fan of tattoos and Harry Potter 😊

I am a birth doula with certifications from DONA, Hypnobabies, and Stillbirthday. I am also certified in TENS usage and have my own units to use with my clients. I strive to educate, empower and support with a calm, quiet atmosphere, upholding the desires of the birthing person. I am also a certified Spinning Babies Parent Educator and a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (this means a carseat expert!) As a retired teacher and Air Force spouse, with seven children and two grandchildren, I have experienced a wide variety of personal birth scenarios and am particularly drawn to help military wives and those without family nearby. My name is Sophie Perkins and I grew up in Kerrville, TX. I have been practicing as a doula since 2020, and I have fallen in love with this work. I have no children of my own, but my wonderful girlfriend and I have plans to expand our family. While I hope to be able to carry a child, we are very excited about the prospect of adopting or fostering children! My hobbies include spending time with my partner and pets, renovating our home, and reading. In 2016, a friend of mine got pregnant and hired a doula. Hearing her birth story was such a privilege and an eye opening experience! As the months passed, she shared with me honestly what it was like being a new mom–the sleep deprivation, confusion, visceral joy and love of having a child. I felt so honored that she would trust me, and I was inspired to find my place beside families as they welcome new children. I looked into doula work and was hooked immediately. After I was trained, I knew with certainty that I had found my passion.

In her role as a Newborn Care Specialist, Asia provides essential care for newborns, including sleep conditioning, bathing, feeding, and bottle cleaning, helping families to rest and adjust to their new routines.
