My name is Tina Louise and I love supporting families around their birth experience. I'm passionate about birth and working to improve birth outcomes in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. I attended my first birth at the age of 16 years in a homebirth community and knew this was a calling for me. I attended home births, birth centers and hospital births, and finally decided to become certified as a Doula in 2014. I have volunteered with Joy in Birthing Foundation, worked as a private doula under Doula Sisters LA and began with SBCC a as a Community-based Doula in 2018. I am experienced in all forms of doula support, Lactation, Childbirth Education, Spinning Babies, Placenta Encapsulation, Infant Massage and a Reiki II practitioner. I am currently only taking at risk clients for doula support through SBCC and providing birth placenta encapsulation, Spinning Babies classes and Reiki II sessions to Southwest Los Angeles, Long Beach and surrounding cities.

My path to becoming a doula was forged during a deeply personal experience, as I navigated the challenges of healing my own womb from an ovarian cyst. Faced with the possibility of losing an ovary and the potential inability to have more children, I turned to holistic remedies and the power of herbs. Through this transformative journey, I not only healed myself but also discovered a profound calling to share the knowledge I gained with other women of color who often face similar struggles with womb health. Driven by this newfound purpose, I embarked on a mission to become a holistic fertility doula. As I delved into the realm of fertility, I uncovered not only the prevalence of womb health issues among women of color but also the systemic disparities and injustices they face in their pregnancy and delivery experiences. This revelation ignited a fire within me to advocate for fair treatment and support for all mothers-to-be.

Hello Parents, I decided to begin my service as a Postpartum Doula because I have a passion for the wellness of women and children. I worked before as a Youth Liasion advocating for young people who battled homelessness. In my service, I met with several clients with little ones and they lacked the necessary resources to care for their children. I noticed the emotional strain that was placed on the mothers so I would help out where I could. I love spending time with children so I made the decision to become educated. I've been a birth professional for about 7 years now and I thoroughly enjoy it. I got started in this industry almost by default. I am the daughter of the middle daughter of 5 girls. All of those girls (my aunts) gave birth to girls. If you can see where I'm going, I have seen a lot of birth over the years.
