I am a certified birth& postpartum doula, as well as CPR& first aide. After having 3 babies of my own, I knew this is exactly the career for me. I know how lonely and tiring the postpartum journey can be, and that’s what I am here for! I’d love to be your extra support. My goal is to actively listen to your needs and wants, and to create a healthy sleep schedule for your baby and you. Rest is very important in the fourth trimester. I can give you resources, suggestions, and advice when needed. I will be there to do some chores as well such as cleaning bottle and pump parts, and doing the baby’s laundry. I’m excited to learn all about your plan, and be there by your side!

Hi, I'm Stacey Bodziony. I'm a Rhode Island based DONA International Certified Postpartum Doula, a Rhode Island Certified Perinatal Doula, Certified Newborn Care Specialist and mother of three. I've been supporting mothers and children since 1991. Bringing a new baby into your life is exhausting and exhilarating, all at once! In my work with families I've found that what parents need most at this time is someone to support them without judgement as they navigate the early days. (And naps, of course!) Southern RI Doula will be there to help you figure it all out.

Hi, I’m Kathleen Stern—a certified postpartum and birth doula, certified infant feeding specialist and an IBCLC candidate (international board certified lactation consultant), expecting to be certified in 2026. I love working with parents to offer real-time relief and practical tips and to remind them that they’re doing a great job. My goal is to build your confidence and provide relief so that you feel better when my visit ends. Whether you’re a first-time parent feeling nervous/excited or thinking ā€œI don’t know what I don’t know,ā€ or a seasoned parent looking for some more relief this time around, I’ve got you! Prior to working with infants and families, I earned a Masters in Teaching and had a rewarding 15-year education career— teaching students (mostly middle school English), coaching teachers, and helping others recognize their own strengths. I got into the perinatal world after I had a colicky baby in 2014 and was filled with exhaustion, self-doubt, and conflicting advice from well-meaning family and friends. I knew there must be a better way. For my second baby, I worked with a postpartum doula to provide me with the nonjudgmental, hands-on support I knew I would need. The difference between my first and second postpartum experiences prompted me to become a doula and lactation professional. My best advice for expecting families is, ā€œReach out for help before you think you need it. You're not supposed to be able to do this by yourself.ā€ I live in the North Shore with my 11 and 8 year-old daughters and labradoodle. When I’m not with my family or holding babies, I love to garden, be active, and be by the water.

Working with children and their families has been my life’s work, whether being a center-based teacher or in-home care. My biggest and greatest accomplishment has been becoming a mother to my two boys. Being a postpartum doula and lactation educator is another way to share in these magical times and help families adjust to life with a newborn. Having experienced vastly different prenatal, birth, and postpartum experiences with both of my sons, this lit the passion in me to help others during this time when things can be unexpected. Training through CAPPA (Childbirth & Postpartum Professional Association) solidified all the reasons why I want to continue to help support families and be a part of their amazing journey as their family grows. My hands-on experience, becoming a mother and working as a teacher, has shown me just how different each baby and family are. I look forward to sharing your unique beginning with you, creating success in your parenting journey.

Hi my name is Jess. I have always known that my gift is to help others heal. Being a doula is a manifestation of that. Birth work is a direct response to the injustice and disparities experienced by BIPOC in the US. And we all have the power to change that narrative. I look forward to healing with you.

As an indigenous person working as a lactation counselor, childbirth educator, birth doula and postpartum doula I offer unique opportunities to integrate traditional practices with contemporary support. In this experience, the doula role extends beyond the physical recovery and infant care; it requires cultural humility , respect for ancestral knowledge and recognition of the community’s values. This experience highlights that postpartum care is not one-size-fits-all model. The doula’s presence becomes a bridge between worlds-supporting modern postpartum practices while safeguarding cultural continuity. In conclusion, working with an indigenous doula ;has given me the responsibility to practice the cultural humility of my heritage, honor my traditional knowledge and provide holistic care. Such experiences that demonstrate support is most effective when it respects identity, empowers families and nurtures both body and spirit!
