Hello, my name is Vanessa, and I am honored to support and empower families on their unique birthing journeys. As an Afro-Latina/BIPOC birth worker, I am deeply committed to fostering safe, informed, and sacred birthing experiences. Following my spiritual calling as a healer, I completed my Birth Doula Workshop Training at Bastyr University’s Simkin Center for Allied Birth Professions in July 2023. This training equipped me with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to guide expecting families with compassionate care, advocacy, and emotional support through pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. My approach is rooted in intuition, empowerment, and holistic care. I believe every birthing person deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported in making informed choices about their body and birth experience. As your doula, I am here to hold space for you, whether through physical comfort, emotional reassurance, or spiritual grounding. Birth is a sacred rite of passage, and you are powerful beyond measure. I look forward to walking this journey with you. Let’s create a birth experience that honors your strength, wisdom, and intuition.

Kalen was invaluable after the birth of our premature twins. We hired her for 6 months of daytime support. She was punctual, dependable, knowledgable, and clearly passionate about babies. She gave us much needed relief and showed us how to help out little ones sleep through the night! Thank you so much, Kalen!

I was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. After obtaining a BFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah, I was able to tour as a professional dancer for many years. Upon "retiring" from dance, I returned to graduate school and obtained my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Washington. My passion has always been to understand the inner mechanics of the body. I am a certified Level 5 Romana's Pilates Instructor as well as a MELT (Myofascial Energetic Lengthening Technique) Level 1 practitioner. Through my dance, pilates, and myofascial training, I used pelvic floor strengthening components for many years, but felt l needed to further my knowledge. Following PT school, I underwent extensive training in pelvic floor physical therapy and the treatment of women's health issues. I believe in looking at the body as an entire system rather than piecemeal parts in order to treat the whole person.

I’m a mom to two beautiful girls, a passionate birth doula, and someone who loves showing up for families during one of the most incredible — and life-changing — journeys there is. Years ago, I walked away from a decade-long career as a lawyer and followed my heart straight into birth work. Supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum feels like home to me — it’s where I come alive. Caring for others has always been second nature, but there’s just something about standing beside a family as they meet their baby that fills me up in a way nothing else does. My approach is simple — warm, personal, and rooted in trust. I believe every woman deserves to feel safe, supported, and truly seen as she steps into her power. Birth is raw, real, and different every time — sometimes full of joy and laughter, sometimes messy, emotional, and intense. I’m here for all of it — holding space, offering steady support, and reminding you that you are never in it alone. There’s no script, no one-size-fits-all here. I show up ready to meet you where you are — tuning in, listening, and walking beside you every step of the way. My goal is to make you feel held, informed, and confident, so you can look back on your birth story with pride. When I’m not supporting families, you’ll usually find me soaking up time with my girls — whether that’s cooking up something delicious, getting outside, or cheering way too loudly at the rink for my hockey-playing daughter (my proudest role might just be hockey mom!). Nature is my reset button, and the sauna-my happy place to unwind, reflect, and breathe. I’m also fluent in Russian and feel incredibly honored to support Russian-speaking families here in the Greater Seattle area — though truly, my heart is wide open to families from every background and walk of life. If you’re looking for a doula who’s warm, grounded, and 100% in your corner, I’d love to connect. You deserve support that feels like a soft place to land — and I’d be honored to be that for you.

Hello, my name is Sharlene, a postpartum doula and a naturopathic medical student with a deep passion for supporting new families. My journey into birth work began when I was a senior in high school who had the opportunity to do my rotations at a hospital in Texas. Little did I know at that time that it was passion that had been born from that experience— it planted the seed for my future. Moving to Washington to study at Bastyr was a leap towards making my dreams a reality. Becoming a doula was another beautiful discovery, introduced to me by a professor who not only taught me, but also helped me heal in ways I never expected. Now, as a postpartum doula, I am honored to walk alongside new parents, providing the care, support, and reassurance they need during such a transformative time. I can’t wait to continue growing in this field and, one day, serve my community as a midwife and a prenatal ND, providing holistic care throughout pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

Hi! I’m Lyndsie, a wife and mother to 2 boys and all around “birth friend” I love spending time outdoors, grabbing a coffee and catching up with friends and am always up for adventures! I believe birth is beautiful, empowering, and transformative. It does not need to be coerced, feared or walked alone. It is my utmost honor to walk alongside women as they transition from maiden to mother. To hold space with a reassuring smile, and a joyful heart, while you bring your baby earth side in your full authority. I believe in connection and relationships. With me you are not hiring an attendant, you are forming a friendship and understanding, you are gaining a sister who loves birth and you and will hold you in all the ways you need.

I love my job! Supporting parents through labor, birth and postpartum is amazing, and rewarding, and what I feel called to do. I am a birth and postpartum doula, as well as a childbirth educator and a lactation educator. Having an understanding of your options is a big part of preventing birth trauma. Educating parents about how they can better navigate their labor and the medical system is a big part of what I do. I support folks emotionally, physically, with information/resources, and with advocacy (and photo documentation of their labor). We usually have some fun too!

My husband, of over 30 years, and I have three grown children. We are super excited to be living in Kitsap Co. again after being away for most of our married lives. As a certified Doula, postpartum doula and Childbirth Educator I enjoy all aspects of the birth process, providing kind, experienced support before, during and after labor. Your birth should be a beautiful, empowering experience in the environment of your choice. I will be by your side to support your choices, give physical, emotional, and informational support as well as advocate for you during decision making. Please consider me as part of your support team as you navigate this important time in your life.

If I could give a rating higher than five stars, I would! Jocelyn was able to take over and advocate for me when I was unable to do it myself, and when my partner and I were unsure of what decisions to make before and during the delivery process. She was there for us from the early stages of labor to when our baby was in my arms for the first time. She is both knowledgeable and creative in her methods and had answers to all our questions. She far exceeded the expectations we had and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for doula services.

Hi, I’m Fiona Mortensen, founder of Little Pines Doula. I’m a certified postpartum doula, student lactation counselor, and a mom to two little boys under two, proudly supporting families throughout the Greater Seattle and Tacoma areas. My passion for birth and postpartum work began during my time as an EMT in King County, where I had the unforgettable experience of helping a mother deliver her sixth baby. That moment opened my eyes to the beauty and privilege of supporting families during such a powerful transition. Since then, I’ve welcomed my own children—first via cesarean and then through a VBAC—experiences that have deepened my appreciation for the importance of informed, compassionate care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. With a background in emergency medicine—including work on a NICU/PICU transport team and as an ER Technician at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital—I bring a steady, grounded presence and a blend of clinical knowledge and heartfelt support to my doula practice. At Little Pines Doula, I offer non-judgmental, personalized care to meet each family’s unique needs. I especially love helping new parents build confidence and connection as they adjust to life with their baby. Outside of doula work, I love exploring new parks with my boys, relaxing at the beach, and enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. At home, you’ll often find me curled up with an embroidery project and my cats, or sharing laughs and playful moments with my family. I believe joy and humor are essential, and I bring a light-hearted, down-to-earth energy into every family I support. I’m also passionate about learning and am always deepening my knowledge in birth, postpartum care, and lactation—not only to better serve my clients, but because I genuinely love continuing to grow. I truly believe the postpartum period can be one of the most beautiful and transformative times in a family’s life. It’s an honor to walk alongside families during this tender season—and to bring warmth, wisdom, and a few smiles along the way.

Having Fiona as my postpartum doula was one of the best decisions we made when preparing for our little guy’s arrival. Fiona guided me through decision paralysis, every question or concern, and exhaustion; she did this with care, grace, compassion and patience. She was very professional (prompt, communicated expectations and boundaries clearly) while being personable. I needed someone just like this while my little family navigated this tender time of postpartum. There was never a moment of doubt or worry with Fiona as our doula. I knew my little dude was in great hands while I rested. I can’t recommend Fiona enough! Our 2 months with her was amazing and made my postpartum journey so much easier and peaceful.
