Alicia Patterson has been a dedicated birth worker since 2004, focusing on healing through ancestral practices and integrative care. As a reiki master, Kemetic yogi, and hypnotherapist specializing in gate control theory and tactical pain management, she combines deep spiritual and practical approaches to support families. Alicia is trained in indigenous herbalism, floral emotional healing, postnatal care, Caribbean bone closing, including eight global post natal wrapping techniques.
A descendant of Jasper Darrett—record-holder for the most descendants born to one parent in Houston, Texas—Alicia’s Southern lineage runs through Texas, Louisiana, the Carolinas, Virginia, and Kentucky, rooted in generations of home birthing women. Born and raised in Northern California, she draws on this rich heritage in her work.
She is the founder of First Vision Birth and Family Services, offering birth support, postpartum care, grief and elder care, and breastfeeding consulting. Certified by DONA, SMC Doulas, and Divine Birth Wisdom, Alicia is also a priestess of the International Kemetic Temple and trained in traditional Pentecostal faith healing.
A passionate health justice advocate, she has trained parent-child teams, as well as Oregon and Washington legislators, in healthcare advocacy, conflict resolution, bystander intervention, and somatic release. Her organizing work spans local to presidential campaigns, including serving while pregnant in 2020.
Alicia is a mother of four sons, with three natural, medication-free births—most recently delivering twins ten minutes apart using meditation and breathwork.
