Hello, my name is Raven! As an entrepreneur, I am familiar with the importance of being passionate about one's work. In my case, my passion for birth work stems from personal experience as a wife and mother of two beautiful souls. The miraculous and empowering births I experienced sparked within me a desire to guide and support others on their own journeys through pregnancy and childbirth. However, my path to becoming a birth doula was not without obstacles. Before conceiving my oldest, I faced some difficult pregnancy losses. To help heal and cope with these losses, I turned to writing and expressed my feelings through a love letter or poem dedicated to my future rainbow baby. This experience not only brought me solace, but also deepened my understanding and empathy for other women facing similar struggles. It was this profound sense of empathy and the desire to support and empower women that ultimately inspired me to become a birth doula. With every client I work with, I am reminded of the importance of providing emotional, physical, and informational support during such a transformative time in a woman's life. My personal journey has fueled my passion and dedication to this work, and I am constantly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a meaningful and rewarding profession.

Absolutely Amazing! I received the Classically Beautiful Package and I couldn’t be more pleased with the services provided by Mrs. Kidd. She was patient, informative, and made me feel so at ease with the birthing process. She was ready and available whenever I called, and I really love the affirmations and the Aura she brought to each visit and the birth of my beautiful baby girl. When searching for a Doula, I was nervous and didn’t know what to expect, however, after being guided by Poetically Birthed (Mrs. Kidd), I for sure know I was in the right place during the right time. I could not be more happy! Thank you so much Poetically Birthed for caring for me and my baby. 💕

As a postpartum doula, I’m there to nurture, educate, assess the needs of the mama or baby, refer to needed doctors or specialists, and support the family as they transition their life with a new baby.

My husband and I delivered our first child November of 2022 with the help of Maya. Our family was truly blessed to have her as our doula. She met with us before delivering, supported us during delivery, and met with us after delivery. During pregnancy, Maya knew I wanted to breastfeed and sent me information on breastfeeding as well as a class. During delivery, Maya made sure my needs were heard and met. She made sure my voice did not go unheard and made both my health and my family’s health the number one priority. She helped to make my birth experience peaceful and amazing. I was terrified to deliver a child but Maya quickly made all those fears go away. We definitely plan to use Maya again and highly recommend her!

My name is Kiara Thomas, and I am the Lead Birth and Postpartum Doula at Affirmative Parenting Solutions (APS). I proudly serve families throughout the DFW metropolitan area and Oklahoma, providing compassionate, affirming, and holistic doula care. My journey as a doula began over five years ago from a deep calling to support families during one of life’s most transformative seasons. I believe that birth and the postpartum period are not merely medical events, but sacred transitions that deserve care rooted in dignity, advocacy, emotional safety, and education. I am also a mother of five children, all of whom I birthed naturally. My personal birthing experiences deeply shape my approach to care and reinforce my belief in the body’s innate wisdom. I am passionate about creating spaces where mothers feel safe, supported, and empowered to trust their bodies and their intuition. At APS, we believe wholeheartedly that when the mother is taken care of, the baby is taken care of. Our doula packages are thoughtfully designed to be affordable, flexible, and supportive, meeting families exactly where they are. As a birth doula, I provide prenatal education, Lamaze breathing techniques to prepare for natural childbirth, personalized birth plan creation, continuous labor support, physical comfort measures, advocacy, and intentional partner support. My care philosophy is deeply rooted in a holistic healing approach. I incorporate practices such as aromatherapy, meditation therapy, sound therapy, and water therapy to promote relaxation, grounding, and emotional regulation. I focus on cultivating an environment whether at home, a birth center, or a hospital where a mother feels free to surrender, soften, and allow her body to do exactly what it was designed to do. This approach extends beyond birth and into everyday support throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period. Postpartum care at APS centers on rest, recovery, and emotional well-being. I provide daytime and overnight newborn care support, lactation guidance and education, newborn care assistance, and emotional check-ins. As part of our postpartum services, mothers also receive complimentary relaxation-focused therapy, including massage for the back, legs, and feet, to promote healing, reduce tension, and support nervous system regulation after birth. I have had the honor of supporting diverse families, including first-time parents, growing families, single parents, and families from various cultural backgrounds. My approach is inclusive, trauma-informed, and affirming, always personalized to each family’s needs, values, and birth preferences. APS offers free 30-minute consultations to ensure every mother feels informed and supported before committing to care. These consultations provide space to explore desires, address concerns, and shed light on the childbirth and postpartum journey. I believe childbirth can be a positive, empowering, and deeply rewarding experience and that it is simply more time spent with your baby before they take their first breath into the world. It is my honor to walk alongside families with care that honors their strength, resilience, and unique journey into parenthood.

There are truly no words big enough to express how grateful I am for Kiara Thomas with APS and Treichae. During one of the most emotional and vulnerable seasons of my life, they became my village when I had no family or friends in town. They didn’t just provide postpartum and overnight newborn care they showed up with genuine love, compassion, and heart. One of the most touching moments was when they surprised me with a baby shower after my daughter was born. Knowing I had no support system nearby, they went out of their way to make me feel celebrated, seen, and cared for. That alone meant more to me than I can ever fully explain. They were truly on call 24/7, always available to answer my questions, calm my worries, and support me as a new mom. When my baby girl struggled to latch the way I had hoped for breastfeeding, Kiara provided reassurance, education, and emotional support without judgment reminding me that I was doing my best and that my baby was loved and thriving. On top of everything else, Kiara was incredibly understanding of my financial situation and worked with me to make care affordable without ever making me feel uncomfortable or ashamed. That level of compassion and flexibility is rare and deeply appreciated. Kiara and Treichae didn’t just care for my baby they cared for me. I will forever be thankful for the role they played in my postpartum journey and would recommend them to any family looking for support that goes far beyond expectations.

I am a widowed mother of four children between the ages of 19 and 22 who were born within three years. My first birth was at age 35 with a female physician in rural Maine, who was previously a midwife. I also had a female prenatal and postpartum doula who helped me find my confidence as a new mother. My second birth was a mandatory cesarean for breech & transverse presentation of fraternal male twins at age 38. Although the male physician would not grant requested delayed cord clamping, I was permitted to take the placentas home to plant a tree in honor of the birth. My fourth child was born in my 40th year as a rapid fire VBAC at a freestanding birth center with a midwife and doula in attendance. I have served as a pre-partum and postpartum doula, and am an experienced night nanny with a high success rate with sleep training. I do not adhere to any particular philosophy, serving only to support parents and caregivers with strengthening their own parental instincts. It is my practice to mirror the customs of the household, however shabbily chic, or with the spices alphabetized in the cabinet:) Experienced with serving post partum after traumatic births.

I am excited to express my interest in the Night Doula/Night Nanny position. With four years of hands-on childcare experience—including dedicated night nanny work—I’ve supported families with newborns, infants, and children up to 5 years old, including twins. Caring for little ones during those tender nighttime hours has become something I truly love and take pride in. My experience has taught me the importance of patience, gentleness, and intuition—especially at night when babies need calm, consistent care. I also bring a reliable, nurturing presence that helps families feel secure and supported while they recharge. I would be honored to support your family and bring my professionalism, warmth, and dedication to your home. Thank you so much for considering me.
