I am Ana R. Saldivar, a Bilingual (Spanish) International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). My journey into lactation assistance began with the challenges I faced while breastfeeding my firstborn. The lack of knowledge and professional guidance made it difficult to nurse, and I endured months of pain due to misconceptions about breastfeeding and a lack of support. My struggles were a result of my sons’ undiagnosed oral ties, which I only discovered during my training to become a breastfeeding peer counselor. This experience highlighted the significant gap in breastfeeding guidance and understanding for new mothers, both among parents and medical professionals. During my time with WIC, I gained extensive knowledge in breastfeeding support, and the program I led received multiple awards, including two USDA National Recognitions, for serving thousands of families over my 12-year tenure. After earning my CLC certification in 2014, I realized the need for further education and achieved my IBCLC certification in July 2022. In January 2023, I launched my lactation support practice. Currently, I am enhancing my expertise through as many IBCLC Master Classes as I can take. My experience includes building trust in relationships with historically oppressed communities and understanding how biases against race, ethnicity, culture, age, abilities, gender, and sexual orientation impact breastfeeding support. My goal is to reach more families in our community and provide higher-level lactation assistance. Megan Desrochers CPM LM, an Arizona licensed midwife and Certified Professional Midwife, has been privileged to serve hundreds of families in their birth journeys since 2018. My name is Gosia (Gosha). I’m an independent Slavic traditional ‘grandmother” midwife – to be with a woman and for women. I developed and matured with other sisters and women into where I am today. My road was long and winding, but it brought me a gift of enormous experience as a woman, mother, and Midwife. I transformed from a CNM hospital midwife to a CPM midwife to finally be reborn as an independent midwife who is with a woman and connects intuitively, energetically, and spiritually with the surrounding world. I had the privilege of transforming on the Old and New Continent; I am deeply connected with my intuition, love, and women’s power to serve other women fully.

I have spent over 25 years as an infant care RN, mostly in the NICU and am certified as a Low Risk Maternal-Infant care nurse. After some soul-searching about my true career passion, I have discovered that I am the most enthusiastic about helping mamas with breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is often depicted as a simple method of feeding your newborn. It is a natural process, but may not go smoothly at first. It is completely normal to have challenges in the beginning, but with the right kind of support those challenges can be overcome. It’s my goal to be just that right support!
