About me

Meet Ana R. Saldivar, IBCLC Hello, and welcome! I'm Ana R. Saldivar, IBCLC, founder of Lactation Support For You. I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) International Board Certified Lactation Consultant dedicated to helping families overcome routine and complex infant feeding challenges through evidence-based, individualized care. My passion for lactation began with my own breastfeeding journey. Like many parents, I was told that pain was "normal." It wasn't. Months later, I discovered my sons had undiagnosed oral restrictions that significantly affected our breastfeeding relationship. That experience inspired me to ensure other families receive the knowledgeable, compassionate care I wish I had. After becoming a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) in 2014, I earned my International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential in 2022 and founded Lactation Support For You in 2023 to provide families with advanced lactation care that goes beyond basic breastfeeding support. I believe successful feeding requires looking beyond the breast. My comprehensive evaluations assess oral function, feeding biomechanics, bottle-feeding skills, pumping efficiency, flange fit, maternal anatomy, infant body tension, primitive reflex integration, and milk transfer to identify the root cause of feeding challenges—not just the symptoms. Families seek my care for persistent breastfeeding pain, nipple damage, pumping discomfort, low milk supply, oversupply, poor weight gain, oral restrictions, recurrent plugged ducts or mastitis, bottle-feeding difficulties, NICU transitions, and complex feeding concerns. I enjoy solving difficult feeding challenges and helping families find answers when previous interventions have not been successful. I am committed to lifelong learning and regularly complete advanced education in oral function, feeding rehabilitation, pumping science, professional flange fitting, infant feeding biomechanics, oral habilitation, primitive reflex integration, infant massage, exclusive pumping, breastfeeding after oral restriction release, and management of medically complex lactation cases. My goal is not only to help with today's feeding challenges but also to empower parents with the knowledge and confidence to meet their family's feeding goals. Whether you choose breastfeeding, exclusive pumping, combination feeding, or formula feeding, you deserve compassionate, judgment-free, evidence-based support. I look forward to being part of your journey and helping your family achieve comfortable, effective, and confident feeding.
