Hello! My name is Nicole. I’m a Birth Doula and I also offer overnight postpartum and newborn care to new and expectant families throughout South Jersey, Philly, and surrounding areas. I believe it is a gift to be able to make a difference in the way a family feels supported and cared for throughout their journey. It’s the reason I became a Doula. I personally know what it feels like to be supported vs not. I feel extremely fortunate and honored to have been trusted and invited into many birth spaces over the years. It is a mission that I continue to take very seriously. I specialize in helping people have redemptive births after previous birth trauma, VBAC, advocacy, and physiologic birth. I aim to help people find their voice and birth from a place of power, strength and confidence!

Shanti is often described by her peers as genuine, reliable, nurturing & supportive. These are also the qualities that make her a great doula. Her belief is that all women deserve a pregnancy & birthing experience rooted in education, advocacy, equity and holistic wellness. She will soon be a certified full spectrum doula and childbirth educator through Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings. She studied Maternal & Child Health Education at Howard University. Shanti currently works as a Family Engagement Specialist at the Maternity Care Coalition in Philadelphia. Her interests in this work began during the birth of her first niece when she was 9 years old. It was clear to her early on that she had a purpose in birthwork. She has supported hospital births as well as birth centers and assists both medicated and unmedicated births. When she isn’t working, Shanti is an avid traveller and loves the arts. She also enjoys being a dog mom, spending time with loved ones and staying active with yoga & dance. She is a fluent Spanish speaker and is currently learning French.

Shanti is awesome! She helped us out overnight when we were desperate for sleep. She knew exactly what to do and even helped get out baby down for a long stretch of sleep! I highly recommend her

My name is Nia Rose, I am a WHOLElistic doula where I take into consideration the whole (spiritual, mental, physical and emotional) aspect of pregnancy and birth. My practice evolves around meeting my clients wherever they are at and being alongside them as they journey into parenthood. I love to incorporate what I have learned from previous experiences as I learn and grow along my journey into birth work. I would love to chat with you to determine if we will be a good fit!

Recent review

I hired Nia Nchami as a doula for the birth of my second daughter in 2022. After an initial conversation via email, she came to our house and really listened to my concerns, fears and hopes for my delivery. She took extensive notes and created a birth plan that truly encapsulated what I wanted for the birth. We stayed in contact for several months and talked more frequently as my due day neared. When the day came, she was a force of nature. She kept me calm and confident. She helped me to navigate the birthing process. But most importantly, advocated for me with my doctors, nurses and healthcare staff to ensure that I received the best care. I can truly say that I had a much better experience giving birth than the first time and Nia was a big reason why. She is extremely professional, but also calm and caring. I’m so glad that I found her!

When I first was pregnant, I had a lot of fear surrounding the pregnancy. Fear that I would miscarry and fear of what was to come. Abby immediately provided comfort and support, and validated my feelings. She was with me every step of the way through my pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum. Even though she couldn't physically be with me much of that time, the encouragement, prayers, and support she provided me went such a long way. I'm so grateful for her, and look forward to the future support she will provide as our family continues to grow.

Hi everyone I’m Ari! (she/they) I'm a Trained Full Spectrum Doula located in Philadelphia, PA. I’m dedicated to providing trauma-informed, client-centered, and affirming care for all. My background in art and passion for research motivate me to offer imaginative, evidence-based birth education and holistic support. To read testimonials from parents who have trusted me to be a part of their experience, follow this link: https://doulamatch.net/profile/34407/ari-eisen. As a birth doula, my focus is on prenatal education that centers physical, emotional, social, and spiritual factors impacting your pregnancy and parenthood journey. I'm here to support your unique vision for your birth experience and serve as your advocate in times of need. I understand that the bodymind is vulnerable and reactive to regimes of oppression. My goal is to uplift the innate beauty and strength of all bodies, with a focus on supporting LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC parents in navigating barriers to just medical care (though I work with parents of all identities). I am sensitive to the institutions and practices that contribute to poor maternal and birth outcomes and I maintain that anti-racism is essential to holistic carework. For years, I've engaged in embodiment practices such as yoga, meditation, and acupuncture to deepen my connection with bodymind intelligence and navigate my own chronic pain journey gracefully. Throughout my various doula trainings, I've upheld my values, which I'm eager to share with you. It would be an honor to be your guide and provide you with compassionate, radically inclusive support.

Ari is a wonderful doula. My husband and I worked with Ari during pregnancy and delivery (at the hospital). Ari was consistently a fantastic partner and coach to both of us. We felt understood, cared for, and supported. From listening to our goals, offering resources, and even providing a reassuring massage, Ari was a source of relief. We also appreciated that she was very knowledgeable but at no point told us what to do or passed judgments on our intentions for pregnancy and delivery. Ari is both calming and confident – the perfect energy to help me deliver our child. I strongly recommend them to any birthing parent or partner!

Supporting Philadelphia Metropolitan area, surrounding suburban areas (Delaware County, Bucks County, Montgomery County) and New Jersey.

Recent review

I had the pleasure of working with Shannon in the fall of 2023 until the delivery of my first child in January 2024. As a first time mother, it was so helpful having Shannon guide me through what to expect during all stages of labor, delivery and the 4th trimester. Shannon is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and kind. Her calming nature really came in handy in the delivery room! With Shannon’s knowledge and support, me and my husband had the tools to advocate for ourselves during the prenatal appointments and in the delivery room. Overall I had a really positive birthing experience and I believe that Shannon’s presence and support contributed to that. I would not hesitate to recommend Shannon’s services to any person seeking support on their birthing journey.
