Becoming a mother has shaped not only who I am—but also how I support others. I’ve experienced birth in many forms: a hospital birth with medical interventions, a hospital birth without medication, and finally, a peaceful home birth. Each one was powerful, unique, and taught me something new about strength, surrender, and support. My journey sparked a passion for supporting women during this incredibly personal and transformative time. I became a doula because I believe every mother deserves to feel seen, supported, and truly heard. My work is rooted in empathy and a deep respect for each person’s unique experience. I offer care that meets you where you are—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Whether it’s helping you prepare, offering reassurance, or simply holding space, I’m here to support you in making this journey your own.

I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible support I received from my birth and postpartum doula, Kei. From my third trimester all the way through labor and the first four weeks postpartum, Kei was a constant source of guidance, comfort, and strength. Kei provided me with an abundance of resources, including recipes, guides, exercises, and daily affirmations, which were invaluable during my pregnancy. She was instrumental in helping me stick to my birthing plan, yet was flexible and adaptive when changes were necessary during labor and delivery. One of the many thoughtful gestures Kei made was gifting me a birth exercise ball and warm compresses for breastfeeding. Her knowledge on breastfeeding and pumping was extensive; she not only educated me on the process but also made me a special lactation tea that significantly helped increase my milk production. Her hands-on approach in showing me how to breastfeed, along with tips for storage, was incredibly reassuring for a first-time mom like me. Kei's expertise didn't stop there. She helped our baby accept a pacifier, something we struggled with on our own, and showed us various tools and techniques to soothe our baby during those tough middle-of-the-night crying spells. Her 24/7 availability was a lifeline, especially when I experienced Braxton Hicks contractions and needed reassurance. During labor, Kei's support was unwavering. She stayed with me for over 24 hours in the hospital, ensuring I never lacked anything, whether it was physical comfort or emotional encouragement. Kei's presence gave me the confidence and strength I needed to navigate this new chapter of my life. I left this experience not just with a supportive doula but with a life-long friend. I wholeheartedly recommend Kei's doula services to anyone seeking comprehensive prenatal and postpartum support. Her dedication, compassion, and expertise are unmatched. Thank you, Kei, for being an indispensable part of my journey into motherhood.

Ines Serna is a mother, childbirth educator, and doula with a Master of Health Sciences in Public Health. She became interested in pregnancy and the birth process after having her first child in 2010. Shortly after, Ines started working for the childbirth education department at a prestigious Bergen County hospital, where she gained a great deal of knowledge about maternity services. After the birth of her second child in 2014, she decided to become a childbirth educator. Through her two birth experiences, she realized that the power of knowledge can have a positive impact on birth outcomes. While working as a childbirth educator at the hospital, Ines saw the necessity of giving additional support to her clients. She has trained with DONA International to obtain all the required skills to assist mothers during the birth process. Ines is dedicated to expanding her knowledge by attending maternal and child health conferences, seminars, and networking with health professionals in the community. Ines’s extensive hospital experience has allowed her to see and understand the need to continue advocating for patient-centered care. She believes a patient’s personal preferences, such as values, cultural traditions, family support, and lifestyles, must be taken into consideration. Ines is passionate about supporting expectant parents by making sure they understand that they have options before, during, and after birth. She firmly believes that EVERY woman deserves a good support network. A network that consists of health professionals, along with family, friends, and, of course, the support of a doula, is the greatest gift parents can experience in their lifetime. Hi Everyone, I'm Ashley, a Afro-Dominican & Puerto Rican mother to a 15 year old boy and a Certified Full Spectrum Doula and Lactation Counselor. Throughout my career, I have had the honor of supporting over 55 families and counting during their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey, helping them navigate all the transitions of bringing new life into the world. My passion for supporting families during this transformative time began when I experienced the birth of my own child. I realized the profound impact a skilled and compassionate doula can have on ones birthing experience because although I wasn't able to have a doula for my birth, I was able to teach myself and those supporting me the role of a doula during birth, which allowed me to achieve all of my birth goals. Through this passion, I have dedicated myself to supporting families through their pregnancy, birth and postpartum in a way that is personalized, empowering, and non-judgmental. I believe in creating a safe and nurturing space that allows families to make informed decisions and feel supported throughout their process. My approach is grounded in evidence-based research and tailored to the needs of each family. I provide emotional, physical and advocacy support as well as evidence-based education and access to resources you may need to help encourage a positive and fulfilling birth and postpartum experience. I am committed to continuing my education and professional development to ensure that I am providing the most up-to-date and effective care possible. Whether you're planning a home birth, hospital birth, or a birth center delivery and/or you're just looking for postpartum support, I am here to support you every step of the way. I look forward to the opportunity to help you achieve your ideal birth and postpartum experience.

I've been working with Taja for several months. I met her when my baby was a few months old and I was having trouble figuring out how to get her to nap. Taja was very helpful in teaching me how to soothe my baby and help her nap. She is very dependable and trustworthy, has great perception in understanding what the baby needs and has good emotional intelligence. I have used her dozens of times for childcare and she is always early, helpful and very reliable.
