My name is Tina Louise and I love supporting families around their birth experience. I'm passionate about birth and working to improve birth outcomes in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. I attended my first birth at the age of 16 years in a homebirth community and knew this was a calling for me. I attended home births, birth centers and hospital births, and finally decided to become certified as a Doula in 2014. I have volunteered with Joy in Birthing Foundation, worked as a private doula under Doula Sisters LA and began with SBCC a as a Community-based Doula in 2018. I am experienced in all forms of doula support, Lactation, Childbirth Education, Spinning Babies, Placenta Encapsulation, Infant Massage and a Reiki II practitioner. I worked before as a Youth Liasion advocating for young people who battled homelessness. In my service, I met with several clients with little ones and they lacked the necessary resources to care for their children. I've been a birth professional for about 7 years now and I thoroughly enjoy it. I got started in this industry almost by default. I am the daughter of the middle daughter of 5 girls. All of those girls (my aunts) gave birth to girls. If you can see where I'm going, I have seen a lot of birth over the years. I am certified by DONA International and have worked with many families using carrot benefits so I’m familiar with the process. Aside from being a birth and postpartum doula I am also a lactation and parent educator. I can provide guidance and help with breastfeeding, pumping, storing milk and if needed supplementing with formula. My approach is to meet each family needs, to offer the education and provide different options and let family decide what works best and go from there. There’s no right or wrong way to do things.
