I am a widowed mother of four children between the ages of 19 and 22 who were born within three years. My first birth was at age 35 with a female physician in rural Maine, who was previously a midwife. I also had a female prenatal and postpartum doula who helped me find my confidence as a new mother. My second birth was a mandatory cesarean for breech & transverse presentation of fraternal male twins at age 38. Although the male physician would not grant requested delayed cord clamping, I was permitted to take the placentas home to plant a tree in honor of the birth. My fourth child was born in my 40th year as a rapid fire VBAC at a freestanding birth center with a midwife and doula in attendance. I have served as a pre-partum and postpartum doula, and am an experienced night nanny with a high success rate with sleep training. I do not adhere to any particular philosophy, serving only to support parents and caregivers with strengthening their own parental instincts. It is my practice to mirror the customs of the household, however shabbily chic, or with the spices alphabetized in the cabinet:) Experienced with serving post partum after traumatic births.

Latched provides breastfeeding friendly physical therapy for babies and mamas. Many of us never put much thought into how we would feed our babies. However, for many babies and mamas (like my little one and me), breastfeeding can come with lots of new challenges. Some of these challenges may arise from: - Infant being overwhelmed with new environment (state regulation) - Movement restrictions during pregnancy - Difficult birth - Tethered oral tissues (such as lip and tongue ties) - Decreased range of motion (such as torticollis) - Strength imbalances - Postural changes - Increased tension or stiffness - Reflexive responses The good news, therapy can help address these concerns!

I am Shanna Hinrichs, and my story of community birth began over 20 years ago when I began supporting families as a doula, lactation consultant, and now midwife. I have known I was called to help women bring their babies earthside since I was a young child. I didn't know what that would look like, but I was fortunate to witness the intimate and precious home birth of a dear friend. That experience revealed my path as a birth worker and ignited my desire to serve women and their families in their most powerful and vulnerable moments. I am fulfilled by serving my incredible clients as their families grow. Attending births builds my trust over and over in women's bodies and their ability to transform and heal. I respect the responsibility of being a midwife and recognize the privilege of facilitating an experience that best supports my client's wishes. I believe that educated, informed choice is the best way for families to become empowered and make the best decisions for their pregnancy. That belief has afforded me the privilege to serve on the board of different cesarean awareness groups to help provide evidence-based information so families can make the appropriate choice for themselves and their current pregnancy. I am also a strong advocate for Vaginal Birth after Cesarean (VBAC) when it is the most appropriate choice. I was born and raised in Garland but have had the privilege to live in a few different states. I am married and have given birth to 9 children, each with their own distinct story. Having experienced 9 very different births and breastfeeding journeys, I have lots of hands-on personal experience to offer to you. When not engrossed in the birth world, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our 4 school-age kids still at home, and our dog and cats, as well as playing in the great outdoors, eating delicious food, and making our home in Rowlett as peaceful as a home with 4 kids (still living at home), a dog, and 2 cats can be. I would love the opportunity to chat with you to see if I would be the best midwife for you and your family. If we decide that I am not the best fit, I am more than happy to help you find the care provider you deserve as you travel this beautiful journey.

Shanna delivered my third baby. She is an amazing and caring midwife! She is knowledgeable and takes the time to get to know you and your family. She always answered my questions with detail and evidence backed information. At my birth she was fantastic in helping my husband catch our baby and managing me when I had some difficulty immediately postpartum. She was a huge blessing in my postpartum and understands the importance of support in the postpartum.

Hi, I’m Jazmine—a bilingual Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), and perhaps most importantly, a two-time triple-feeding mom of two. Like so many parents, I found myself exhausted and overwhelmed in the early days of feeding my babies—navigating confusing advice, constant pumping, and sleepless nights. I became a CLC to provide parents with the highest quality practical knowledge and care. I combine lived experience with professional expertise to support other parents in making informed, confident feeding choices. I have a background in Public Health (MPH) and over 15 years of experience in patient- and family-centered care, and I am bilingual (English/Spanish). I support families with evidence-based lactation education and early postpartum challenges.

I have been a doula and childbirth educator since 2004, and have attended over 600 births to date. I love to help my clients feel informed and encouraged on their journey to parenthood. I attend births in the hospital, birth centers, and at home. Many of my clients want assistance and support for an unmedicated, low-intervention birth, while others want physical, emotional and/or informational support for their birth with "all the bells and whistles." I would love to visit with you about your hopes and plans around the special day when you meet your baby.

Recent review

Delilah has been our AMAZING doula for 3 births now, I feel so incredibly blessed to have found her back in 2014 when I was pregnant with my first child. From our very first conversation I felt supported and more confident in my abilities to achieve my birth goals. Throughout that first pregnancy Delilah was so helpful as I prepared for labor. We also took her childbirth class, which was great. The day of my birth she was spectacular, providing physical support, information, and overall just a wonderful addition to our birth space. Of course we went on to hire her for our 2nd and 3rd births and the support we received was always exceptional. From helping with provider recommendations while trying to conceive, to emotional support during pregnancy to in person support at the births, I couldn't have asked for a better doula.
