I am a birth and postpartum doula who loves working with new families as they grow and develop! When it comes to birth, I believe each person labors and births in their own unique way, and I want to discover what the birth process looks like for you. I believe the postpartum period is a time of rest, healing, and bonding for new parents, and I lovingly support that process in your home. When I'm not doula-ing, I enjoy reading, yoga, and spending time outside.

I am a DONA-certified birth doula practicing in the Ann Arbor, MI area. I believe that doula support is a right, not a privilege, so my fees are nominal and my services are above and beyond. In addition to the usual DONA certification training, I am also trained through Survivor Moms and I also volunteer with the Michigan Prison Doula Initiative, in addition to my private practice. I have no time cut-off, so if your labor is moving slowly, I will stay with you all the way. I have been told that my kindness, compassion and ability to listen and advocate has been a godsend to many of my clients.

I am a passionate birth doula who is dedicated to helping mothers feel heard and in control of their pregnancy and birth by finding trust, strength, and empowerment through listening to the intuition we all have as mothers. My personal experiences of having a C-section, a miscarriage, and a VBAC have all encouraged me to help educate and support other women throughout their own journeys. Hi I am Maria, and I came to doula work after working in childcare for 8 years. After spending time with parents who had relatively no postpartum care or support, I soon started my training to bridge that gap. I believe that the postpartum period is one of the most crucial stages of pregnancy. Many parents experience feelings of loneliness, confusion, and exhaustion and it is Maria’s top priority to help parents feel their best during your fourth trimester. Maria believes that every family who wants a doula should have one. Promoting a judgement free zone, she happily works with families and individuals of any age, race, & gender. Instilling confidence and nurturing a new family is what makes Maria excited to go to work every day. Maria has been trained as an EMT, birth and postpartum doula, certified lactation counselor, and is working on her IBCLC certification which she plans to finish by winter 2025.
