Hi I am Maria, and I came to doula work after working in childcare for 8 years. After spending time with parents who had relatively no postpartum care or support, I soon started my training to bridge that gap. I believe that the postpartum period is one of the most crucial stages of pregnancy. Many parents experience feelings of loneliness, confusion, and exhaustion and it is Maria’s top priority to help parents feel their best during your fourth trimester. Maria believes that every family who wants a doula should have one. Promoting a judgement free zone, she happily works with families and individuals of any age, race, & gender. Instilling confidence and nurturing a new family is what makes Maria excited to go to work every day. Maria has been trained as an EMT, birth and postpartum doula, IBCLC.
Prenatal, initial, pumping, back to work, or follow up consult. Consults are offered virtually or in home in Washtenaw County.
Daytime support: • Between the hours of 7am-8pm • Support includes mental and emotional support, newborn care and education, light housekeeping, basic lactation education, and meal prep as needed. Overnight support: • Hours of 10pm-6am • Support includes newborn care, basic breastfeeding support, washing and sterilization of pump and bottle parts, laundry as needed. *This is not awake care*.
Postpartum doula services, prenatal lactation consult, initial lactation consult, pumping consult, back to work consult, and follow up consults.
I have worked with Maria for almost a year now and it has been the best decision for my family. I am a first time mom and only got 6 weeks of maternity leave before going back to work full time. Maria provided overnight support and it helped tremendously. She took over care for my son so that I could get a full nights sleep.
