About me

Long before becoming a doula, I understood the importance of supporting mothers because I had experienced motherhood myself. Today, as both a mother and grandmother, I've had the privilege of watching motherhood unfold across generations. Those experiences have given me a deep appreciation for just how significant birth is. Every mother is different. Every baby is different. And every birth story is different. That's why I believe good doula care begins with listening. I was drawn to doula work because I wanted to provide women with the kind of steady, compassionate support that can be so meaningful during labor and birth. My approach is especially centered around comfort care and birth coaching. I help mothers explore different labor positions, movement, relaxation and comfort techniques while also providing the emotional encouragement that can be just as important during labor. I don't believe my role is to take over your birth experience. I'm there to walk beside you. To encourage you when labor becomes difficult. To help you find another position when something isn't working. To remind you of your strength when you're tired. To listen to what you need. And, when desired, to pray with you and bring the comfort of our shared Christian faith into the birth space.
