Parris was my birth doula for my first and only birth so far and I have no reservations recommending her. From the initial consult to prenatal visits to the actual labor and delivery and post partum visit, Parris was attentive, courteous, and patient. Her actions in my delivery room avoided a c-section and her plethora of experience means that she has techniques for anything that might go wrong during your birth. I would go with her again if I have a second baby!

I believe I was around 20 weeks or so when I found Aeryka's website. I'd miscarried 3 months prior to finding out I was pregnant again, so suffice to say, I was completely terrified of 'doing anything wrong' this time around. From the moment of our initial consultation, I finally felt a wave of peace for the first time. I didn't know much about doulas, I just knew I wanted/needed someone knowledgeable to be on this journey with me. Every random question or concern, I could count on Aeryka. Going into labor, I can honestly say I wasn't nervous at all knowing she would be beside me. She not only helped me birth my baby boy, but also a new me (the latter being more painful, in my opinion lol). Through Thick and Thin is the most apt name as she literally has been there for me, pre and postpartum, in so many ways. I'd do it all over again with her in a heartbeat.

Hiring Neisha was one of the best decisions I made as I prepared for childbirth, and I would whole-heartedly recommend her to anyone. While I was initially unsure about whether I wanted to hire a doula, after interviewing Neisha I was convinced that it would be helpful to bring her on to support me and my husband before, during, and after the delivery of our first child, and I was not disappointed. I ultimately had a very positive birth experience, and I credit Neisha for giving me the preparation, knowledge, and validation needed to make informed decisions and clearly communicate my preferences during labor and delivery. Early on, she provided us with ample online resources to begin our childbirth preparation. During our prenatal meetings we developed a birth plan, practiced comfort techniques, and discussed the essentials of breastfeeding and newborn care. Throughout my labor Neisha calmly fielded our increasingly anxious calls about whether to take Pitocin and when to begin the epidural. She was a reassuring presence in the delivery room, suggesting alternative positions and providing encouragement to me and my husband through two hours of pushing. Postpartum, Neisha helped with breastfeeding, and continued to check in for several weeks after the end of our official contract as I dealt with a difficult and unexpected complication. Neishaās professionalism and expertise combined with her warmth and sense of humor made her an invaluable part of my birth team. I would absolutely hire her again. (PS - she is also an incredible massage therapist!)

I support women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with a blend of evidence-based care and ancestral wisdom. My work is rooted in helping families feel emotionally held, physically supported, and spiritually aligned as they welcome new life. Whether Iām creating nourishing teas, encapsulating placentas, or guiding mamas through their birthing journey, my goal is always the same, to remind women of their power and to make birth a deeply supported, healing experience. ⨠Your birth is sacred. Your care should be too. āØ
Drina went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and prepared for the day! I was freaking out because at 41 weeks my baby still hadn't come and i was due for induction. My first baby was also induced, and because of the pitocin i begged for an epidural and ended up with a catheter, more stitches, longer recovery, lasting back pain, etc. The first induction took 21 hours. Yesterday i had my second baby via pitocin induction without an epidural! My dream come true. It was painful but she kept me in the zone. She had me laughing and oozing oxytocin and just going with the pain. It was like out of a movie. The nurses were saying that i had the kind of birth they read about in textbooks but never see up close in person. I started pitocin at 11:45am and baby was here by 3:13pm. Having Drina there was such a game changer. I would 100% recommend her and have her there at any future births as long as sheās willing. I am eternally grateful.

My approach is deeply rooted in the healing wisdom of Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), helping new parents feel nurtured, balanced, and empowered through every stage of their journey. I specialize in Ayurvedic postpartum massage and belly binding wrap, baby massage & infant bodywork, and breastfeeding difficulty support for newborn families.
I worked with Heng Ma for six weeks after giving birth, and it was one of the best decisions I made for my postpartum recovery. Heng combines incredible skill with deep wisdom from traditional Chinese postpartum and newborn care. She taught me hands-free breastfeeding positions and how to nurse or pump while lying down. They are total game changers for a tired new mom! She also cooked delicious Chinese postpartum meals that not only tasted amazing but truly helped my body heal faster. Every day, she gave my baby a full body massage, and Iām sure it made a huge difference. My baby never had colic or constipation issues. Hengās care, knowledge, and kindness made me feel supported, understood, and confident as a new mom. I canāt recommend her enough!

Simone has been holding space for expecting and postpartum families for over 10 years. Birth has a powerful way of healing and transforming you, and her first birth did just that. The ability to have 2 empowered births the way she wanted, gave light to the need for advocacy, education and doula support amongst the birthing community, especially black families. Simone is a mother, doula, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, childbirth educator and infant sleep educator. She has been teaching and mentoring doulas along the way and excited to dive deeper into holding the hands of the next generation of birth workers.
Washington, District of Columbia
Since 2015, I have served clients as a Birth and Postpartum Doula. In 2021, I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I have served over 80Ā clients having vaginal births after caesarean (VBAC)Ā planned/unplanned C-sections, vaginal medicated and unmedicated births. I assisted close to 150 families as a postpartum doula, helping them adjust to parenthood with daytime or nighttime visits. I love assisting at births but the greatest joy for me is postpartum work. Families are under prepared for the changes that come during the first 3 months after birth. Having a guide makes the 4th trimester much smoother.
Louisburg, North Carolina
Hey there! My name is Naomi Carrington. I am a Certified Birth and Postpartum doula, Breastfeeding Counselor and Childbirth Educator in Louisburg, serving the greater Raleigh Triangle area. I'm passionate about childbirth, mamas, and babies, and I've dedicated my life to helping families experience a birth and postpartum beyond their expectations. Birth does not have to be seen as a fearful thing, but something women were designed for. Living overseas has helped to shape who I am today and the services I offer. Over the past few years I have mainly attended home births which is my 'happy place'. But no matter where you plan to deliver, I guide my clients in preparing both their minds and bodies for labor and offer full informed support of their choices. A few things that I impart to families are: education, the importance of body balancing, whole food diet and mental preparedness. Knowledge is power and a big part of what I do. Over the years, I have attended over 70 births and taught several classes. In my free time you can find me reading, working out, enjoying an iced coffee, working in the garden, with our many animals or cooking in the kitchen. I am from a big family and love making memories with them! I'd love to connect and discuss how we can meet your goals for your dream birth, postpartum or class experience!
Me and my husband knew we needed to learn more about birth and postpartum. This is our first child and I've heard many a horror story surrounding birth lol. We are so thankful for Naomi and her birth class. It was very instructive. Now we know there are many workouts and labor techniques that we will be able to implement. My husband feels more prepared for my labor and birth. He is excited to be able to know how to assist me during that time. I feel soooo much more confident about having my baby. I feel like it will be alot less scary nowthat im informed and way more prepared. Im so thankful for all that we learned. I highly recommend taking her class. She is passionate about empowering women to do what God has designed us to do! āØļøāØļø Thank you Naomi!
