Hello! I am a state certified doula, Medicaid approved doula, perinatal specialist and placenta specialist. I support families across Hampton Roads and I would love to be considered as part of your support team.
Amazing! 10/10 Juile made my whole birth experience super enjoyable. From coming up with a birth plan suitable for me to being by our side during labor and delivery. I'm honestly so blessed she was able to help me birth my first baby boy. Birth itself is nerve wracking but she made me feel very comfortable with how knowledgeable and supportive she is. She not only took stress off my plate but also my partners allowing him to be present during labor and delivery.

The Maternal Concierge / Whispering Lullabies / Birth Mamas Hi, I’m Tory Whitney—birth and postpartum doula, newborn care specialist, mindfulness and hypnobaby educator, and intuitive guide. We had the absolute best experience with Tory, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. From the moment she walked into our home, she brought an immediate sense of calm and confidence that we desperately needed. After just one visit, our entire household felt more settled. She didn’t just care for our newborn—she taught me how to care for him with new techniques, hands-on guidance, and so much patience. She showed me how to soothe him, how to read his cues, and how to manage those fussy moments that had felt overwhelming before. Her approach was gentle, practical, and incredibly reassuring. On top of that, both the baby and I were coming down with a cold, and she handled the situation with so much compassion. She showed me how to help a congested newborn, helped me feel more confident in what to watch for, and even let me get much-needed rest. I truly felt cared for as a new mom, not just supported in caring for my baby. If you are looking for someone who brings expertise, calm energy, and genuine care into your home, Tory is absolutely exceptional. One visit made such a meaningful difference for us, and I am so grateful for her. I am excited to work with her again and ensure that I’ve really taken her lessons to heart.

As your doula, I am dedicated to showing up for you and your family in the most authentic, present and compassionate way I can. Together, we’ll explore your birth preferences, core values and fears. We’ll practice mindfulness and comfort techniques.Whether you choose to birth at home, a birthing center, or the hospital, I'll be there to help you tap into your intuition and strength.
Kasha or Kashie as my 4 year old affectionately calls her was the most amazing doula even before I conceived. Every question I had any concerns or info I needed she found the answers or found someone who could help me find the answers. I never felt judged for the choices I made concerning my pregnancy or baby. During labor she was there by my side making sure I was taken care of and her postpartum care to me is unbelievable! We will for sure be using our wholesome doula again.

I am a Jesus follower, invested mom, joyful homeschooler, a passionate Birth Doula, Christian Childbirth Educator and Breastfeeding Counselor. I accompany women in labor to help ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience. I have received education and completed training for the doula’s role from DONA International and Hartland College, School of Midwifery. I draw on my knowledge and experience to provide emotional and spiritual support, physical comfort and, as needed, communication with the staff to make sure that you have the information you need to make informed decisions in labor. I can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress and help with relaxation, prayer, soothing touch, positioning and other techniques for comfort.
There is no way I can fully express my gratitude for Eva and the fact that I was able to have her by my side as my doula. It's no exaggeration when I say it made ALL the difference in my birth and I can't imagine what it would have been like if she was not there. Not only is Eva a skilled and experienced doula in the matters of childbirth but she is an incredible listener and support which is so critical at such a vulnerable time. She gives you the space and respect you need but is a source of strength and wisdom when you need to lean on her. She was always available, incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely respected our wishes and experience which is hard to come by these days. Everything you would hope for in an ideal doula and more. Working with her was an actual blessing from God; I will be forever grateful. Where many people in the industry can dismiss or minimize your experience, Eva sincerely cared and honored us throughout. She went above and beyond and her love for the Lord shows in her character and the reverence she brings to her clients and her calling. Anyone who works with her is incredibly lucky to have her by their side.

I am dedicated to helping you achieve the empowering transition into motherhood that you deserve! I specialize in supporting unmedicated hospital births and homebirths.
Amanda is such a huge blessing! She is very knowledgable and a comforting, supportive presence during such a vulnerable time. My husband and I were not originally going to hire a doula, but at the last minute (8 months pregnant) we decided we would want the extra support for our home birth as we are both first-time parents. We found Amanda through Facebook recommendations, and she was able to meet with us quickly, answer all of our questions (even bring up points we hadn't thought of yet), and provide us with the resources and knowledge to have a successful home birth. She does offer some prenatal education classes and while we were not able to attend the first session due to how late we found each other, the second session was so worth it - especially the exercises for pain management! The day of labor she was quick to respond to us and even coordinated with our midwife so that I could focus on my labor and my husband could focus on me. She provided excellent guidance and support to my husband so that he was the one comforting and helping me during labor and she was able to step in when needed. She even took care of our dog! We truly could not have asked for a better experience or a better doula than Amanda, and we have both said that we would absolutely work with her again if we are still in the area!

I am a Birth Doula that is passionate about working with families to help them achieve the birth experience that they are looking for. I provide emotional, physical and educational support during pregnancy, labor and delivery, as well as during the postpartum period.
Susan is absolutely amazing and I would recommend her to anyone! My husband and I had never considered the idea of having a doula for my pregnancy and birth of our son, but then we attended a class that she helped teach. The benefits of having a doula were explained and we instantly knew that we wanted to have one. Susan was so informative, excited about her work and welcoming - we connected with her right away! We loved how involved she was from the very beginning of us deciding to work with her. She met with us to determine if she would be a good fit - which she was! Once we hired her as our doula, we had multiple lunches to discuss our birth preferences and to answer any and all questions we had. During birth and delivery, she helped us determine when contractions were close enough to head to the hospital, she helped me work through the pain, and made us feel safe and prepared. When it was time for me to push, my son had the cord wrapped around and his stats were dropping. Susan, the doctors and the nurses helped keep me calm throughout that and made sure me and baby were safe! Once our son was born, Susan stayed with us to help with skin to skin and with the initial breastfeeding. We were so worried that I would have a traumatic birth, but with Susan by our side that was absolutely NOT the case. If / when we have another baby, we will 1000% have her by our side again - we LOVE her!

My aim is to earn the trust of my clients to guide them through their perinatal experiences and choices, but more impactfully to connect them with their own intrinsic wisdom and intuition. Supporting the PARTNER (if applicable) to support the birthing person through labor is my approach (dictated by comfort level, obviously) . As someone with a history of ED and body dysmorphia I have a passion for supporting people who have had or do have similar struggles. I am relatedly an active advocate against medical fatphobia and the associated myriad of non-evidence based biases against fat pregnant folks. My work is informed greatly by my own perinatal experiences, particularly in the realms of both birth plans and feeding plans changing, and the importance of the diagnosis and treatment of later onset postpartum mood disorders. In my free time I like to dismantle systems of white supremacy and patriarchy, tend to my indoor jungle, and build marble mazes with my kiddo.
To say that Melanie was an incredible doula falls woefully short of the experience we've had with her bringing our baby girl into the world. Melanie was our guide and partner across so many different areas of birth, labor, and beyond that we could not possibly hope to effectively capture in a brief testimonial here. From the outset, Melanie's primary concern was to get to know us and our story, and to deeply understand our goals, concerns, blindspots, and fears around our daughter's birth. She never pushed for us to take a specific direction in terms of a birth plan, and was clear that she would support, regardless of the specific direction we wanted to take. She helped us in developing a birth plan that felt right for our circumstances and goals, and demystified the process of labor and delivery in a way that made us feel calm and confident going in. She was an incredible partner and advocate during our time in the hospital. She went above and beyond to make sure we were as comfortable as possible in our room, made herself available to answer our questions and provide coaching in the middle of the night as we progressed through early labor, and was there at our side as a guide and champion during active labor and pushing. After the birth of our child, Melanie continued to stand by us and provide invaluable coaching and wisdom on what we should expect in the early days out of the hospital. She's continued to make herself available by text message for random questions and panicked brain darts as they come up, and has helped us tremendously in sorting through the beautiful mess of life with a newborn. Beyond all of that, Melanie is a fun, funny, and wonderful human. We genuinely feel that we could not have gotten here without Melanie. Working with her as our doula was one of the best life decisions we’ve ever made.

She is a beautiful, kind woman who holds space in a way that makes families feel seen, safe, and supported. Part of being an outstanding doula is the passion for continuous learning and the ability to remain moldable to each unique family and setting—traits that Aleigha embodies wholeheartedly. She approaches each situation with openness and a deep understanding of what it truly means to support women, no matter their background or circumstances. Her ability to balance presence, intuition, and professionalism sets her apart. Greetings, everyone! I'm Bonney Burton, a birth doula, childbirth educator, and breastfeeding consultant trained by DONA International. My educational background has equipped me with innovative teaching methods, enabling me to educate new families about the birthing process in creative ways. Drawing from my experience as an elementary teacher, I approach every situation with calmness and patience. My guiding philosophy revolves around empowering and educating birthing families, fostering confidence in navigating the stages before, during, and after birth. I firmly believe that this empowerment contributes to positive birthing outcomes for all my clients. While I'm currently based in the NCR, I am open to travel as needed. As an active duty service member's spouse, affectionately known as "B," I am blessed with three delightful children who bring immense joy to our lives. Witnessing my kids engage in sports is a cherished aspect of parenthood for me. During my leisure time, I indulge in reading, savoring nature, especially at the beach, and relishing good food. I am excited about the prospect of collaborating with you on your birthing journey.
Bonney is an amazing doula! She's a great communicator, professional and well organized, but more importantly, she's one of the most patient, compassionate, and dedicated human beings I've ever met. She stayed with me through a long and difficult labor, rubbing my back, telling me what I needed to hear, encouraging me to keep going. She still texts me once in a while to remind me I'm alright, or remembering baby's milestones.

Hello everyone, my name is Marissa Howard and I am a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula located in Hampton Roads, VA. I strongly believe that the birthing experience should be empowering and peaceful. I encourage clients to feel they have autonomy over their decisions during the birthing process. I provide evidence based information to support and educate my clients in prenatal and postpartum stage. I also promote advocacy skills so my clients can feel secure in their decisions throughout the process of pregnancy/birth/postpartum. In my free time, my husband and I keep busy with our 3 beautiful children.
We are so grateful for Marissa! I knew from the moment we met she was the doula for our family. Her calm presence and joyful spirit was just what we needed for our pregnancy journey. Our meetings were informative and fun, and we felt so prepared going into labor. Marissa was extremely supportive through the whole process- always checking in to see how we were doing. She was a rockstar through delivery and stayed with us through the night until our daughter was born. I felt confident between her and my husband that I would be taken care of when I was unable to adequately make decisions during labor. On top of that, our two postpartum visits were helpful and honestly just comforting! At the end of our time together, we were sad to say goodbye because Marissa is forever a part of our family!

I am writing this after 3 days of c section postpartum. I cannot stress enough when I say this but just close your eyes and hire Alyssa as your doula. she is on top of the information, has best interest for you, organized and so much knowledgeable in this field. I feel blessed and lucky that I hired her as my doula and if it wasn't for advocating for my health, I wouldn't be able to birth my beautiful baby girl. As a first time mom I had no idea what I was going to go through, Alyssa walked me through every single struggle and helped me fight all the fears I have about child birth and whole process. hands down one of the best decision I have made that I got her as my doula. she's truly the best!

I'm a certified postpartum doula and certified breastfeeding specialist living in Richmond, VA. I've been doing this work for over 11 years, and I feel so honored to walk the early months of life with a new baby or babies alongside the families I serve. It's a beautiful, vulnerable time full of questions, joys, and concerns, and I love supporting families through all of it. I have extra training and expertise in supporting breastfeeding/chest feeding, since so many of parents' early concerns revolve around feeding, and there is not enough good lactation help available to most families. I work with first-time parents and those expecting their second, third, or more babies- everyone's needs are a bit different, but everyone can use extra hands and a listening ear during this time of transition. I would love to chat with you to get to know you and your family!
Erica was a tremendous help to our family! We welcomed our first child over the summer and had no idea what we were doing as first time parents. Erica helped us with the transition in so many ways. She went above and beyond our expectations and not only provided care for the baby and helped with housework, but frequently checked in on my recovery physically, mentally, and emotionally. Her knowledge about breastfeeding was invaluable--I know my breastfeeding success is largely due to her support and knowledge in those early days when I wasn't sure what I was doing. Securing her help before the baby arrived paid dividends in so many ways!

We had a wonderful experience with Felecia! She kept our premature twins for us at night for the first several weeks of their life to help us get some rest during the transition. She always showed up on time and loved our babies. We are so thankful for the help she provided our family during that time.

Hi, I’m Siedah Israel, a Certified Labor Doula, Holistic Wellness Practitioner, and Certified Herbalist based in Fredericksburg (Spotsylvania County), VA. I’m a wife of 15 years, homeschooling mother of five, and bonus mom to a 21-year-old. I began my wellness journey by earning a certificate in Massage Therapy from Eastern Virginia Career College in 2018, went on to complete my Doula Certification at Germanna Community College in 2024, and graduated with honors in Herbal Studies from the American College of Healthcare Sciences in 2025. I’m currently in Phase I of my PEP process on the road to becoming a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). When I’m not supporting families, you’ll find me homeschooling, exploring outdoors with my children, writing poetry, working on my werewolf novel, or handcrafting natural hair and skincare products. It’s a blessing to walk alongside families with compassion, cultural care, and grounded support during such a sacred season of life.
I cannot recommend Siedah enough. I was TERRIFIED of delivering my baby. I have a lot of birth trauma, both from a traumatic vaginal delivery as well as a traumatic c section. But I wanted to try for a VBAC and take my power back, but my anxiety was holding me back. Siedah was my ROCK. Both during my pregnancy and during labor/delivery. She is full of knowledge, love, compassion. Never judged, always the best listener, and her check ins seriously brought me so much peace. When induction day came, I was terrified. As my contractions got intense, Siedah kept me focused and reminded me of my power. She never judged me when I lost focus and always brought me back to center and respected and supported my decisions. I truly don't think I would have gotten my VBAC without her. Especially with my 10lbs 2oz chunker! If you need a doula, you can’t top Siedah!

I am someone who truly listens to what moms want and need. I believe that every future mother should not only be able to have a birth plan but that every birth plan goes as planned. I am a mother of 3. I have had 3 sections but also know what it’s like to have dreams of wanting to have a vbac and not being successful. Just because my birth plan wasn’t successful doesn’t mean yours has to be too.
SHE DOES AMAZING BABY PICTURES THANK YOU GIRL

Shonna was always calm, supportive, reassuring, and ALWAYS saw the positive side of things. She is an expert in this profession and has made my first time with a doula an unforgettable experience. If I decide to have another one, she will be my first choice. Thank you so much Shonna for everything you did to help with the arrival of our baby!!

We used Lacey for a few weeks after we had our baby. My wife was exhausted from giving birth and she just needed as much rest as possible at night. Lacey came in for 6 weeks 5 nights a week and took care of our sweet baby girl while we slept. She would change her, pass her to my wife to nurse when baby was hungry and would take her back and get her burped and back to sleep. She was amazing and never woke us up for anything. She even washed babies clothes and restocked supplies for the next day. We couldn’t have gotten through those first few weeks without Lacey . I highly recommend her for night nanny services. We will have her again if we have another. Thank you so much Lacey!

We are a mother daughter team working together to support families during the transition to life with a new baby. We love that we are able to offer something unique to our in-person clients in the Hampton Roads area and our virtual clients all over the US. I, Laurie Ann, am a certified Postpartum Doula. For more than 20 years I have been passionate about serving moms. My goal is to give the new family the confidence to parent; working myself out of a job. I like to say, don’t doula this alone; women need other women especially after giving birth. As a caring professional, I share techniques, tools, and personalized recommendations, to support families emotionally and physically as they transition to life with a newborn. Dani is a new mom herself with a 3 year old daughter and infant son. She has been able to really connect with our clients because she has recently (and currently) been in their shoes. We are also proud to be up to date on our product and vendor recommendations because we have personally utilized these products and services. We are better together! This is Mothering the Mother in the Fourth Trimester.
With my first child (see above review), I called LAF (Laurie Ann and Dani) in a panic because breastfeeding was off to a dumpster fire start. Due solely to their coaching, my breastfeeding journey quickly turned around. I breastfed my daughter for 10 months and could not have had a better experience – both physically and mentally. When I found out I was pregnant with my second (the day before my daughter’s first birthday) LAF was one of the first to know (because I wanted them on my team again for round 2!) I knew that the second time around would be a bit different because my husband was in the middle of a deployment cycle. He got home from being gone for six weeks one week prior to me giving birth and will leave again (for 7+ months) very soon. I told Laurie Ann and Dani that I not only wanted to start strong with breastfeeding but wanted to build a large storage supply early on so that the pressure was off a bit when he deployed. Six weeks postpartum, I have 750+ ounces of breastmilk stored due to the plan that LAF put in place (in addition to feeding my baby girl who is growing faster than her growth curve!) The Elvie Curve made collecting this much breastmilk possible – this product was not available with my first daughter, and I could not recommend it more! LAF is a MUST if you are a first, second, third+ time mom in the Hampton Roads area. Seriously – I refer to them as my Fairy Godmothers. So incredibly thankful for their mentorship and love!
