K. Blake Slusser

Hi, I’m Blake! I’ve been working in birth since 2010. I am a Lamaze certified childbirth educator, certified birth doula, and prenatal yoga teacher. I believe that the journey through pregnancy and birth can be difficult and beautiful at the same time and love the opportunity to support parents as their family grows.

Recent review

I had every fear, anxiety and horror story heard from friends going through my head about labor and delivery. How could I not, when one of the single biggest things you ever go through (delivering a baby) has no guarantee about how it will go? This is where Blake helped immensely. Not only has she been through this, three times herself, and more than that as a Doula, but she's a wealth of knowledge on everything about it. From the moment Blake told me she was available to be with us at the birth of our daughter, I felt the weight of the unknown world come off of my chest. Not to discredit the amazing nurses and midwives at my delivery or my incredibly smart OBGYN, but there is something to be said for having an advocate for you in the room. Blake personally came to our home prior to birth to learn more about our preferences, my fears, help us lay out a potential birth plan. She helped us understand what the different options were and when one thing might be more important than another. She was on call from there whenever we had questions, concerns or updates. She was my first call when I believed I was in labor. She gave me guidance on what to do from there and met us at the hospital before we were admitted. She walked me around the hospital for 45 minutes because I wasn't dilated enough for them to admit me at first. She advocated for me once we were admitted and ensured my birth plan priorities and needs were met, and quickly. She worked very well with the medical professionals and my husband in the room. She kept me comfortable, occupied and entertained, and above all else, calm. I'll never forget after delivering my daughter, and Blake getting me a snack and drink and literally feeding me while I held my baby for the first time. She checked in on us after delivery. When I look back on memories of that day, and photos (that Blake took) I feel so fortunate to have had such a positive birth experience and credit so much of that to having Blake with us.

Namaste! I’m Tory Whitney; birth and postpartum doula, newborn care specialist, sleep consultant, mindfulness and Hypno Babies, educator, intuitive guide, and author of Sacred Sleep on Amazon. I am the founder of Whispering Lullabies, bringing 7 years of perinatal experience and over 30 years of hands-on childcare experience into the families I serve. I support parents through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and infant sleep with a calm, regulation-first, whole-family approach that honors both science and intuition. As a sleep consultant, my work is guided by a core belief: sleep is not forced or trained through distress—it is conditioned through safety, nervous-system regulation, and connection. I blend evidence-based physiology, nervous-system education, mindfulness, and intuitive attunement to help babies and parents settle into sustainable sleep rhythms—without rigid or one-size-fits-all methods. My birth and postpartum services mirror this belief. I believe parenthood is more than a transition—it is a sacred awakening. My mission is to help families feel seen, supported, and deeply aligned with their instincts as they move through birth, bonding, and beyond. Through in-home and virtual care, I hold space for families to soften, settle, and trust themselves—one breath, one night, one season at a time.

Recent review

We had the absolute best experience with Tory, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. From the moment she walked into our home, she brought an immediate sense of calm and confidence that we desperately needed. After just one visit, our entire household felt more settled. She didn’t just care for our newborn—she taught me how to care for him with new techniques, hands-on guidance, and so much patience. She showed me how to soothe him, how to read his cues, and how to manage those fussy moments that had felt overwhelming before. Her approach was gentle, practical, and incredibly reassuring. On top of that, both the baby and I were coming down with a cold, and she handled the situation with so much compassion. She showed me how to help a congested newborn, helped me feel more confident in what to watch for, and even let me get much-needed rest. I truly felt cared for as a new mom, not just supported in caring for my baby. If you are looking for someone who brings expertise, calm energy, and genuine care into your home, Tory is absolutely exceptional. One visit made such a meaningful difference for us, and I am so grateful for her. I am excited to work with her again and ensure that I’ve really taken her lessons to heart.

Hi, I’m Siedah Israel, a Certified Labor Doula, Holistic Wellness Practitioner, and Certified Herbalist based in Fredericksburg in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. I’m a wife of 15 years and a homeschooling mother of five. My wellness and birth advocacy journey began with earning a certificate in Massage Therapy from Eastern Virginia Career College in 2018. I later completed my Doula Certification through Germanna Community College in 2024 and graduated with honors in Herbal Studies from the American College of Healthcare Sciences in 2025. I am currently in Phase I of the PEP process as I work toward becoming a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). I have extensive experience supporting families through hospital births, birth center births, and home births. Personally, I have experienced three hospital births and two home births, which deeply informs the care, perspective, and support I offer to the families I serve. When I’m not supporting families, I enjoy homeschooling, spending time outdoors with my children, writing poetry, working on my werewolf novel, and handcrafting natural hair and skincare products. It is a true honor to walk alongside families with compassion, cultural awareness, and grounded support during such a sacred season of life.

I truly do not know what I would have done without Siedah, and I believe I amucky to have found her for my second birth. As someone who has gone through a traumatic birth experience my first pregnancy, I knew I needed some additional support outside of my husband. But, let's talk about the process even before birth. Months before giving birth, Siedah reminded me and helped me re-process my trauma. Made me really think about how I wanted things to go this time around. To make me confident as well in asking questions about my care and babies care. I feel like that was a huge part in the success of my second birth experience. Fast forward to the actual birth, Siedah asked all the healthcare staff the right questions, or had them re-explain what was going on. I did have to be induced as I had pre-eclampsia. Everything went so smooth, it was exactly how I imagined it. Not to mention how fast it all went too! Siedah has such a big heart, and you can tell she truly cares about you; wants what is best for you too! She treats you like family, and reminds you to choose yourself which can be hard sometimes to remember when you're a mom. You won't regret having her by your side.

Alyssa is a real rockstar!! 🫶🏻 After having a much harder birth and breastfeeding journey the first time, I was honestly so afraid I was going to go through all of that again. Instead, this experience was completely different. She gave me the confidence, education, and support I needed, and it not only helped me heal physically and emotionally, but it also made my breastfeeding journey so much smoother! 🤍 Because of her, I now feel healthy, confident, and ready to get back to doing what I love. I’ll always be so grateful for everything she's done for our family. She has such an incredible gift and so many mamas are blessed because of her! 😌👏💛

There is no way I can fully express my gratitude for Eva and the fact that I was able to have her by my side as my doula. It's no exaggeration when I say it made ALL the difference in my birth and I can't imagine what it would have been like if she was not there. Not only is Eva a skilled and experienced doula in the matters of childbirth but she is an incredible listener and support which is so critical at such a vulnerable time. She gives you the space and respect you need but is a source of strength and wisdom when you need to lean on her. She was always available, incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely respected our wishes and experience which is hard to come by these days. Everything you would hope for in an ideal doula and more. Working with her was an actual blessing from God; I will be forever grateful. Where many people in the industry can dismiss or minimize your experience, Eva sincerely cared and honored us throughout. She went above and beyond and her love for the Lord shows in her character and the reverence she brings to her clients and her calling. Anyone who works with her is incredibly lucky to have her by their side.

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. My name is Bonney Burton, and I'm a certified Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Breastfeeding Consultant trained through DONA International. Before becoming a doula, I spent years as an elementary school teacher, where I discovered my passion for helping others learn with confidence. That experience continues to shape the way I support families today—meeting you with patience, compassion, and practical education every step of the way. I believe every family deserves to feel informed, heard, and empowered throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey. My role isn't to tell you what your birth should look like, but to provide evidence-based education, steady encouragement, and unwavering support so you can make the decisions that feel right for you. Supporting women during one of the most transformative moments of their lives isn't just what I do—it's a calling that I'm honored to answer. My greatest hope is that you leave your birth experience feeling confident, respected, and proud of your journey. I'm currently based in the National Capital Region and am available to travel as needed. As the proud spouse of an active-duty service member and a mom to three amazing children, I understand the beauty, unpredictability, and joy that come with family life. You'll usually find me cheering from the sidelines at one of my kids' sporting events, curled up with a good book, enjoying the peace of the beach, or searching for my next favorite place to eat. Thank you for considering me to be part of such a meaningful chapter in your life. It is truly an honor to walk alongside growing families, and I look forward to supporting, encouraging, and celebrating you throughout your birthing journey.

If this platforme allowed me to give Bonney 100 stars, I’d do it instantly 🤍 Her professionalism and personalism are incredible, she instantly calms a room when she enters it and is so incredibly thoughtful. We met multiple times before the birth and each visiting felt more and more like I had someone who would advocate for everything I wanted. As a type A person it’s hard to trust others with important things but there was no hesitation in trusting Bonney. As an Active Duty member, I loved that she understood the military, as she is a military spouse, and I loved that she has access to the military base Fort Belvior! It made the day I gave birth so seamless! I truly cannot recommend her enough. If your reading through other doula and trying to figure out if she is the one for you, consider this your sign 🤍 you will be loved beyond measure and taken care of with so much kindness, empathy and grace. She truly made the birth of our second baby boy so peaceful and was an enormous help to my husband as well 🤍

Nicole Iriarte

12 years of experience

Hi! I’m Nicole and here’s a bit about my story. I became a Birth and Postpartum Doula and Newborn Care Specialist because I truly believe parents deserve to feel supported, not overwhelmed, during pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum stage. This season is tender, emotional, and life-changing and my role is to be by your side with compassion, knowledge, and reassurance. I meet families exactly where they are—honoring their choices, their culture, and their intuition. While providing evidence-based guidance and calm, grounded support, and respect for each family’s values, and understanding that there is no “right” way to give birth or parent a newborn. Whether you’re preparing for labor, navigating the early postpartum weeks, or adjusting to life with a new baby, my goal is to create a calm, non-judgmental space where YOU feel confident in your choices and supported every step of the way. My philosophy is centered on nurturing both baby and parent. Whether I’m offering hands-on newborn care, emotional support during birth, my goal is for you to feel seen, heard, and never alone. I focus on promoting rest, recovery, and bonding while helping families establish gentle routines that feel realistic and sustainable. I view my role as both a guide and a steady presence. I believe when parents feel supported, they thrive — and that belief guides every part of the care I provide.

Recent review

My husband and I are incredibly grateful for Nicole’s support throughout my pregnancy and during our baby’s birth. Her calm presence and thoughtful guidance were invaluable, especially when we needed to make important decisions at the hospital for both me and our baby. She helped us feel informed, grounded, and confident every step of the way. My husband also felt truly supported and empowered in his role, which meant so much to us. We wholeheartedly recommend her for both prenatal and birth support.

Lacie was a great help during my first couple months postpartum. She has a calming and nurturing presence. She gave great tips for sleep and soothing techniques. Our daughter has reflux, and Lacie was always attentive to her needs, keeping her upright after feedings and contact napping with her when needed to help ease her symptoms. She took wonderful care of our daughter and made sure my husband and I were able to get the rest and support we needed. Thank you Lacie!

I am a Birth Doula that is passionate about working with families to help them achieve the birth experience that they are looking for. I provide emotional, physical and educational support during pregnancy, labor and delivery, as well as during the postpartum period.

Susan is absolutely amazing and I would recommend her to anyone! My husband and I had never considered the idea of having a doula for my pregnancy and birth of our son, but then we attended a class that she helped teach. The benefits of having a doula were explained and we instantly knew that we wanted to have one. Susan was so informative, excited about her work and welcoming - we connected with her right away! We loved how involved she was from the very beginning of us deciding to work with her. She met with us to determine if she would be a good fit - which she was! Once we hired her as our doula, we had multiple lunches to discuss our birth preferences and to answer any and all questions we had. During birth and delivery, she helped us determine when contractions were close enough to head to the hospital, she helped me work through the pain, and made us feel safe and prepared. When it was time for me to push, my son had the cord wrapped around and his stats were dropping. Susan, the doctors and the nurses helped keep me calm throughout that and made sure me and baby were safe! Once our son was born, Susan stayed with us to help with skin to skin and with the initial breastfeeding. We were so worried that I would have a traumatic birth, but with Susan by our side that was absolutely NOT the case. If / when we have another baby, we will 1000% have her by our side again - we LOVE her!

Sarah Stanley

Sarah Stanley

4 years of experience

Sarah is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Licensed midwife (LM) Virginia. She brings deep passion and dedication to the birth world, with a mission to create positive change, one birth at a time. From a young age, Sarah felt called to support families, though it took time to find the path that aligned with her heart. It wasn’t until she joined the ARMY and had her first child that she realized birth didn’t have to look like what society or Hollywood often portrays. That experience sparked a fire in her to help women understand that God designed their bodies with strength and purpose! While still serving in the military, Sarah supported three fellow soldiers through their birthing journeys. After completing her service in 2012, she became a doula and birth photographer, then soon after, a Certified StillBirthday Doula, walking alongside families through both joyful and heartbreaking births. Her commitment deepened with time, and after much prayer and reflection, she felt a strong calling to pursue midwifery and became a CPM. Sarah is passionate about empowering mothers to trust their bodies, their instincts, and their faith. Her guiding belief: “Peace on Earth begins with birth.” She is blessed with a loving husband, four beautiful children, and two angel babies. A devoted follower of Christ, Sarah finds joy in the simple things like family time, homeschooling, and serving at her church. Raising Godly children has always been one of her highest callings. In every aspect of her work, Sarah’s love, faith, and joy shine through. She believes that birth is not only the arrival of a baby but the birth of a mother and a family. Her mission is to walk with women through that sacred transformation, providing unwavering support and prayer from pregnancy through parenthood.

I have attempted to write this testimonial time and time again, yet I keep falling short — because words alone cannot truly encompass my experience with Sarah and Kelly. To fully understand what they offer, you must experience it. I was diligent in my search. I interviewed midwives with care and intention. All were qualified, but none spoke to my soul… until I heard Sarah’s voice. That same voice became my anchor — the calm in the storm when I didn’t realize I was deep in transition and drowning in self-doubt. It was the voice that prayed over me. The voice that held space for me when I questioned my own strength. The voice that gently guided my baby into the world — the first hands my child ever knew. How lucky my child is to have been welcomed to Earth by Sarah’s hands. But the story doesn’t end with birth. Kelly, became a lifeline in my postpartum journey. She held space for my tears when the weight of new motherhood felt heavy. She didn’t rush me back to “okay” — she sat with me in the not-okay and prayed with me through it. In those moments, with both Sarah and Kelly, I felt God in the room. Not as a distant idea, but as a presence moving through their words, their touch, their care. Throughout my pregnancy and birth, I was never managed — I was supported. My choices were honored. My autonomy was protected. Every decision was made with informed consent, never coercion

Witley Smith

Hi! My name is Witley Smith! I started my birth doula journey in November of 2024. Ever since I was young I have always loved helping mothers care for their babies. Once I learned about birth doulas I knew that is what I was meant to do! I want to help mamas have a joyous birth experience. I have completed the training for my Birth Doula Certification along with my Lactation Support Certification. I am currently in the process of becoming a DONA International affiliate. I am trained, but I need experience of being the primary Birth Doula in order to complete my application with DONA. I am looking for mamas who are willing to let me serve them, and support them through their beautiful birth. My services will be discounted as I am a new doula looking for experience. I chose the name Serving Dreams Birth Doula Services, because I believe every mother should be served the birth she has always dreamed. No need or want for a mother is too small or frivolous. I want to make my mamas feel comforted, supported, and empowered. My favorite quote that I have learned through my birth doula journey is "You grow the baby you were meant to birth".

Recent review

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Witley. I have known her for years and have seen her mature into a strong, determined and intelligent young woman. She has helped me with all 5 of my children throughout the years. My last child was born 6.5 weeks premature and she was there whenever I needed her help. She is amazing with children of all ages especially newborns. I would highly recommend her knowing the training she has gone through to become a certified birth doula. She would be my choice if I were having anymore children!

Elise also attended the University of Georgia and Piedmont College and holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies. She is a mother to Theo and Georgia and is married to Todd. She entered into the doula field after her own birth, which showed her the importance of building a supportive birth and postpartum team. She continued to add trainings to help extend her knowledge about the many facets of birth and offer assistance through the postpartum time. Those trainings and workshops include: Acupressure in pregnancy and childbirth, Perinatal Loss and Grief, and Spinning Babies Techniques. Elise believes that education and unbiased support lead to each birthing family feeling empowered and informed when making childbirth decisions. After personally enduring a battle with postpartum depression, she hopes to help her clients feel supported through the entire childbirth experience including the fourth trimester. Through her work as a birth doula and her own experience, she saw her clients have beautiful births, but still struggle with energy and emotions during the postpartum experience. She offers placenta encapsulation as a holistic option to balance hormones, replenish iron, increase prolactin for milk production, and boost energy levels. Outside of the birth world, Elise enjoys cheering for UGA (Go Dawgs!), arranging flowers, reading, retail therapy, and watching Hallmark Christmas movies.

I absolutely credit Elise with the amazing positive empowering birth experience I was able to have as a first time mom. Her presence is soothing, confident, and maternal. My husband was so happy to have her there, so reassuring and helpful. Even though we arrived in the delivery room as I was in transition, she still managed to set the ambiance and calm mood I needed for the space. For anyone on the fence, I would say absolutely go for it. Having a doula is everything I had hoped it would be. I will be calling her when it’s time for baby #2
