I'm a mom of 3 with a set of twins! In 2019 I decided that I wanted to try and get into something that I thought would be a side job or just another certificate to put on the wall, not knowing that one day would change my life forever. I became a Certified Postpartum Doula in 2020 and started ABCS. I did independent contracting to get experience. A couple of months after that, I found out that I was pregnant with twins. I had a pretty tough pregnancy. Physically I was fine, but emotionally, this was probably my hardest pregnancy of the two. I felt like something was missing. Like I didn’t have much time for myself. I felt like I had neglected everything because I was exhausted. While on maternity leave, it then dawned on me - I need to invest in my passion. I first became a Certified Postpartum Placenta Specialist. Soon after, I became a Certified Childbirth Educator and a Certified Labor Doula. Now I'm in school to become a Certified Nurse Midwife!
Richmond, Virginia
I'm a certified postpartum doula and certified breastfeeding specialist living in Richmond, VA. I've been doing this work for over ten years, and I feel so honored to walk the early months of life with a new baby or babies alongside the families I serve. It's a beautiful, vulnerable time full of questions, joys, and concerns, and I love supporting families through all of it. I have extra training and expertise in supporting breastfeeding/chest feeding, since so many of parents' early concerns revolve around feeding, and there is not enough good lactation help available to most families. I work with first-time parents and those expecting their second, third, or more babies- everyone's needs are a bit different, but everyone can use extra hands and a listening ear during this time of transition. I would love to chat with you to see if we'd be a good fit for each other!

I am also a Bachelor’s prepared Registered Nurse and have worked postpartum/newborn care since 2016. I have helped thousands of mothers just like you navigate the first few moments after birth up to one year postpartum. My life’s passion is celebrating with young families the birth of their babies, in addition to helping with their feeding struggles. I want mothers to feel supported and educated to provide the nurturing care they deserve.

Congratulations on your growing family! My name is Inga Goodwin. I am a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, INA credentialed newborn care specialist, Christian childbirth educator and fertility awareness health coach. My burden is to empower parents-to-be with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to meet their breastfeeding or pumping goals, optimize fertility, birth safely, and get more sleep with a newborn! More about me? I am a work-at-home, home-schooling mom of 2. I birthed one of my babies at home and the other at the hospital. I enjoy composting, bird watching, and gardening for pollinators. Having an engineering degree has driven me to seek evidenced-based, practical solutions for my birthing and fertility clients. In all that I do, I stand in awe of our great Creator and make sure I approach my work prayerfully. If that resonates with you, take advantage of my free Birth Ready Check-up call service!

Welcome to The Drop! Instant access to human milk for all infants The first app matching breast milk donors to recipients in real time. We’re supporting a growing movement of cooperative feeding. The Drop matches milk donors to recipients, and helps families build a network of supply and support. Search by distance, filter by specific criteria (allergies, food sensitivities, etc.), match by age, make The Drop! Why the Drop? Because breast milk is magic. Human milk provides all the nutrients necessary for growth and development, and it protects against diseases. Experts advise that infants should be exclusively fed breast milk for the first 6 months of their lives. But not every parent can produce or supply breast milk. In fact only 25% of infants are fed breast milk for 6 months.

I can't remember a time when I was not passionate about family issues, and particularly family health. I had my first child at a young age, and found the perinatal landscape entirely bewildering. Mostly alone, I had no idea what was happening to me and my baby, or how to provide for him once he was born (and later, when he was quite sick). The experience strengthened my desire to support others who find themselves similarly lost at the hands of an impersonal medical institution. I am committed to helping families access evidence-based information for informed decision-making, and to helping improve the birth experience for all families. I serve families of all types, and I specialize in trauma-informed care, bereavement support, disability advocacy, and neurodivergence, Additionally, I am conversant in Spanish, French, and American Sign Language (ASL). The journey into familyhood should be a time of joy, love, and familial and community support. I founded Family Ways with the intention to help bring such an experience to any individual and family who wants and needs it, and to strengthen the family bond—no matter what shape the family takes. I am honored to have been able to share in the lives of so many beautiful families, if for just this one crucial moment.
