We moved back to the Capital Region and I found La Leche League! This community of supportive, non-judgmental nursing families inspired me and I became an accredited Leader in 2017. In 2024, I brought Emily on as a co-owner to be able to reach more families. My husband and I have three daughters ages 11, 7 and 2. Our youngest gave us a challenge as an infant. We worked through silent reflux, oral dysfunction, bottle difficulties, weight gain concerns and had her tethered oral tissues released. It was a difficult first 6 months, but we made it through and she is thriving. As part of my commitment to providing the best possible support, I am passionate about continuing my education and staying up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in lactation consulting. Brianna, originally from Las Vegas, NV, embarked on her educational journey towards becoming a midwife when she moved to Santa Barbara in 2015. There she studied and earned her BS in Psychology. In 2017, she attended a DONA doula training, a pivotal step in her commitment to supporting women during labor. As a student, Brianna volunteered at a local maternity home, offering prenatal nutrition classes and doula services. In 2019, she expanded her impact by volunteering with AmeriCorps as a Community Health Worker in Southern Utah, addressing social determinants of health. This experience underscored the strength of community and the importance of continuity of care. After completing her 12-month term, Brianna moved to San Diego to attend Midwifery school and commenced her clinical placement with San Diego Midwife in 2020. As a midwife, Brianna blends her foundation in psychology with specialized midwifery training, emphasizing a compassionate and empathetic approach. Her dedication extends to providing holistic care throughout the prenatal, labor, and postpartum phases, emphasizing both the physical and emotional well-being of mothers.
