I was having a really difficult time with pumping effectively. Even if I produced decent output, I'd end up having several painful clogged ducts. It got to the point where my output decreased significantly, and I was ready to give up breastfeeding and pumping completely. I had one week before I was scheduled to go back to work, and I told my husband that if I didn't figure it out during that week, I was done and our baby would be a formula fed baby. During a middle of the night wake up, I was doing some more Googling about pumping. Someone was looking out for me because I saw a video thumbnail made by Katie (The Breastfeeding Mama) and clicked on it. From there, I found her Pumping Playbook and contact information - and the rest is history! She is very responsive and so incredibly helpful. Through several videos, Zoom calls, and messaging, we finally found my correct flange size - and my pumping experience improved enough that I no longer dreaded the act! My output increased, and my nipple pain and clogged duct reoccurrence decreased. I could not recommend her more and am so thankful I stumbled upon her video. If you're thinking of reaching out to Katie for breastfeeding or pumping help, don't waste another minute! She's totally worth it.

I am so thankful for my experience working with Katie and her team on my breastfeeding journey and would highly recommend them to anyone who wants support or help breastfeeding. They are knowledgeable, supportive and make themselves available to answer any and all questions. After every session I was provided with a detailed care plan that covered everything we discussed and with links to helpful videos or articles. During each session I was listened to, supported and never felt rushed, they took their time with me and my baby. Without Katie and her team, I would have given up on breastfeeding and pumping after 1 week. Now 6 weeks postpartum, my baby is successfully latching and feeding daily and I am pumping more than I ever have.

I can’t recommend Sierra enough! Her knowledge, encouragement, and holistic approach made all the difference in my breastfeeding journey. From the beginning, she took the time to understandd our challenges and offered both evidence-based lactation support and thoughtful homeopathic recommendations that complemented my goals. There were times I wasn’t sure exclusive breastfeeding would be possible after challenges with my first, but with her guidance, patience, and support, we made it!!. She truly cares about both me as a mom and both of my sons, never makes me feel rushed, and empowers me. I’m so grateful for everything she did for our family and would wholeheartedly recommend her and this company as a whole (Katie too!) to any parent!

My experience with Katie has been wonderful. She is patient, encouraging and walked me through various checks to understand the reason for a low milk supply. With her help we were able to diagnose and slowly work towards me nursing and building back milk supply. We reviewed Flange sizing, pump schedule, nursing options and also Regular check ins, availability over text, support for varied queries made it simple to work with her. I highly recommend working with Katie!

Katie and her team are incredible. I had the pleasure of working with Katie and Julia. This was my third at final attempt at breastfeeding. My first two children I was able to provide some breastmilk, but their main source of nutrition came from formula as I struggled with supply and latching. I told Katie my goals before my son was before and expressed how much I yearned to nurse him and primarily give breastmilk. Over the last 9 weeks she has answered every text and email in a timely fashion. She has sat with me when through tears and through laughter. My supply has increased and my sons efficiency at the breast has continued to improve. I am so happy with where I am at in my breastfeeding journey and owe it to The Breastfeeding Mama

What a spectacular experience! I’m a second time mom and successfully BF my first for 8 months. After a C-Section, postpartum hemorrhage and double transfusion I was really struggling with my supply as well as some other unknown issues due to my baby’s oral dysfunction/tension. I had seen two other lactation consultants and they both gave me less than stellar advice. Katie took the time to really listen to me, give tremendously valuable advice and was overall just a joy to work with. She also utilizes an online platform to keep your notes, video tutorials and more. This keeps the plethora of information you receive organized and easy to refer back to. She is also extremely responsive and was eager to help as soon as possible as well as in between appointments. I truly can’t recommend Katie enough. What a blessing this woman is!

I have had two visits with the LCs at The Breastfeeding Mama. Katie (and her team) are incredible!! I needed immediate help coming home from the hospital and Katie was so quick to respond and give me support. She is so responsive, works with you to meet your goals, and is so empathetic and encouraging at every step of the way. She is a wealth of knowledge and I’ve learned so much from her. There is no way I would be breastfeeding in any form right now if it wasn’t for all of the help her and her team provided me, and I am so grateful!

Katie was an incredible support throughout my breastfeeding journey. She provided clear education, hands-on guidance, and helpful resources that made all the difference. What set her apart was her availability between appointments—something I’ve never experienced before with lactation support. Being able to reach out with questions and get timely, thoughtful responses was invaluable. I’m so grateful for her expertise and support! We not only met our goals but exceeded my timeline expectations doing it much quicker than I could’ve expected through breastfeeding support and providing exercises and things we could do at home to help our baby girl develop the skills she needed.

Julia is wonderful. She came to my house and helped me with my newborn son and his latch. She properly sized me for the correct pump flanges and that was a game changer for comfort and volume. We also discussed tongue tie exercises and they have helped my son’s latch tremendously. I would highly recommend Julia as a lactation consultant!

I was a bit hesitant about getting a LC in the first place but knew there was several issues I needed help with. From issues with pumping to breast feeding Katie is beyond helpful and informative. There’s so many things I didn’t realize I had questions about and she has been prompt and helping my journey as a ftm. I really appreciate everything she puts into her care and how she truly wants to help you. If you’re needing a LC, look no further.

Katie was wonderful! I brought my newborn to her for help with a tongue tie. I wanted to avoid a frenectomy if possible. Katie knew what to do to help, provided practical tips and instructions, and listened patiently as I shared about my difficult past experiences with a frenectomy recovery with one of my other kids. I always felt supported and heard by Katie. My baby now nurses so much better and it has made such a difference in the postpartum season. I learned a lot of valuable information about how babies’ bodies work and how everything is connected when it comes to tongue ties. Katie even helped find a better fit for my breast pump, and I was able to do a payment package since we don’t have insurance. Couldn’t recommend Katie more!

Katie is a fantastic lactation consultant and I am so grateful that I found her! I was having some breastfeeding challenges that I felt weren’t fully being addressed, and Katie was so wonderful to acknowledge and validate the issues I was having. She is very knowledgeable on many aspects of breastfeeding and milk supply. She helped me navigate through my baby’s oral restriction problems and his mild tongue tie, which was affecting his latch. She gave me lots of ideas and ways to intervene that helped improved his latch over time. Katie was very informative and educated me on all the options available, without ever pressuring me to do a certain intervention. Instead she laid out different options and encouraged my husband and I to make the best decisions for our family. She is kind, encouraging, and compassionate. It is obvious she puts her heart and soul into lactation consulting and that she does her research thoroughly! If you need help and support, you will find it if you reach out to Katie!! :)

I cannot recommend The Breastfeeding Mama highly enough! Julia was great since our very first visit, she provided the support and expertise I desperately needed. She examined my baby’s mouth in the hopes to find the reason why it was being so painful to latch and she quickly identified my baby’s tongue and lip ties, something that had been overlooked, and helped me understand how it was affecting our breastfeeding journey, besides providing some exercises to help release the ties without intervention. Her guidance with weighted feeds was invaluable in ensuring my baby was getting enough milk, besides taking the time to assess and adjust our positioning, making nursing so much more comfortable. Julia still helps me every time I desperately text her in search of a wiser opinion. Her knowledge, kindness and encouragement made all the difference in my journey. She’s a life saver and I’m forever grateful!

Katie was INCREDIBLE to work with. I'm a second-time mom with experience in pumping and milk supply, yet I can't help but think of how much better my experience would've been the first time I had worked with her from the get-go. She listens to your goals and empathizes with your situation (I've worked with so many LCs, and she was the first to do this) and works systematically to find improvements. I nearly gave up on exclusive pumping, and she saved me to the point where I saw meaningful and sometimes startling improvements in supply. She was always available for quick questions, guidance, and to cheer me on, and handled my lows with grace and ease. She's so knowledgable about pumping, supplements, devices, routines -- and even took the effort to send me canada-specific links as I needed them! Worth 10X the time and $$ -- Katie is the very best to work with and I'd recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone.

Katie is incredible, so knowledgeable and really met me where I was at in my situation. We had our daughter’s tongue tie released and she worked with us through some challenges, giving us great recommendations for care, nursing and exercises to help her heal well. She was so encouraging and supportive. She provided a lot of education through the process. The results we had were beyond what we expected from where we started! I would highly recommend Katie and her team!!

As a second time mom who had a totally different (and challenging) experience breastfeeding my second child, Katie provided the knowledge, support and empathy I needed during a very crucial time. Aside from our in person appointments which provided detailed protocol and recap notes, having Katie’s support as someone I could reach out to has allowed me to continue my breastfeeding journey without battling all of the conflicting information on the internet. If you’re preparing to have a baby, or if you already have and want support with breastfeeding or pumping, don’t hesitate to connect with Katie.

Katie has been incredible and was absolutely instrumental in helping me continue and succeed in my breastfeeding journey. My fourth kiddo (like all her siblings) had a tongue and lip tie that made breastfeeding incredibly painful for me. Katie walked with me on the journey of body work and exercises to get her prepared for a release and was amazing in the follow-up as well. She was an advocate, a cheerleader, an emotional support coach, and a great source of wisdom in my breastfeeding journey. Can't recommend her enough. Oh, and the fact that she works with insurance is beyond amazing!!

I called Katie because I was struggling with symptoms of mastitis. I knew I had a clogged duct and I had strong flu symptoms and a low grade fever. I had set up a telehealth appointment thinking I should get an antibiotic. Katie explained to me the most recent guidelines and taught me how to treat my symptoms at home. While I knew it wasn't a guarantee that my symptoms would resolve, I followed her advice. I saw a huge reduction in my symptoms within twelve hours! I was able to cancel my appointment and avoid the antibiotic and doctor visit! Katie is up to date on her information and has helpful videos and thorough information for her patients. She is very non-judgemental about your preferences. She told me I could just go the route of the antibiotic if I prefer and also had a lot of information about homeopathic options as well. Highly recommend!

I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to meet Katie and have her help and support with my son. I have two older children that I previously breastfed, but each child and situation is different. My son has had a lot of problems with reflux, GI problems, and with his latch and Katie was so knowledgeable about each problem that we’ve faced with my son. We’ve made huge progress already and it’s truly because of Katie—her expertise, support, and love that she has shown me and my son. I highly recommend her, whether you’re a first time mom, or a mother of three, she can definitely help you with any concern that you might have!

I started seeing Katie early on in my breastfeeding journey due to the poor experience I had with my first baby (lack of support, thrush, lack of knowledge with pumping/flange sizes, etc.). Katie was very responsive and took ample time to give me support. She watched me breastfeed in order to give feedback, which I think is the only way to do it. After my first visit with her, I was able to make some simple adjustments and get my baby latching in a way that was not painful. We had a couple follow up sessions to adjust for minor issues I was still having. I was really particular in figuring out how to have zero pain because I knew it was possible. Without Katie’s suggestions, support, and feedback I would not have known what it is like to have pain free breastfeeding. My sweet girl is now 9 weeks old. She is gaining weight perfectly and I actually look forward to breastfeeding her. Katie has also helped me with getting the correct flange size for pumping as I am planning to go back to work in about a month. I realized that although I thought I had the right size and was using the pump correctly before, I was very wrong. My flange size ended up being 5 sizes different than what I was using. Even though I was still getting milk before, it was inefficient and also lead to clogged ducts and mastitis. Now I don’t dread pumping because it no longer hurts and I am also getting it done in no time. My daughter was also having trouble with taking a bottle. She would only take it for a few seconds then start crying or she would gag. We found the perfect bottle and can now add that into our day so that she is prepared when I go back to work. Without Katie’s expertise and patience, I would have easily given up by now! I can’t recommend her enough.

Thank you Katie!!! Katie’s courses have been super informative and had me really prepared for breastfeeding. I appreciate the detail and they are much more comprehensive compared to similar courses from others I have purchased. I was completely prepared for how to handle the initial challenges I encountered with breastfeeding after my baby was born. Then when I experienced chronic clogged ducts and mastitis that were significantly affecting my physical and mental health, a consult with Katie helped me implement the changes that actually worked for me! I have my health and happiness back so I can joyfully take care of my babe and still give my baby breastmilk too! Breastfeeding can be a difficult journey, and Katie helped me continue my journey without having to compromise my own health or sanity. Happy mom and Happy breastmilk babe!

If you’re a new mama struggling with breastfeeding and exhausted from the emotional and physical toll of it all, look no further! Katie is a Godsend 🙏🏼 Within one session my 3 week old baby latched beautifully!! My baby had a tongue tie and was struggling since delivery to latch, and once I met with Katie my baby did amazing! Katie is kind, empathetic, and knows her stuff! She makes you feel incredibly comfortable right from the start, and really listens to you. She recognizes that there’s more than one way to do things, and the most important aspect of her care was that I was comfortable! She always made sure whatever technique we were trying made sense for me and felt natural. Her compassion makes a difference, especially when you’re riding the wave of postpartum hormones! Katie is incredible and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a lactation consultant. She will no doubt love on you and your baby :)

I could not have made it through my breast feeding journey without Katie. She went above and beyond for my baby and I and was available whenever I needed her or wanted advice on topics from pacifier use, bottles, amounts my baby should eat, breastfeeding positions, etc. She provided recommendations for local providers and had an in depth knowledge of post tongue tie release procedure. I have and will continue to recommend her to other moms I know, especially ones local to the Denver area!

Katie helped saved my sanity twice. After a horrible beginning with my daughter as a newborn, her latch was too shallow and extremely painful. Katie was able to get me on track to find the right support I needed to help get her latching correctly and continue our breastfeeding journey until she was 16 months when the pain returned. Katie again helped me troubleshoot the problems and find the solution to the sudden change. When I was ready to give up, she helped counsel me back to sanity and find the right treatment to get us back on track. I'm hopefully that I can keep it up until my daughter is 2 years old now because of her support. I highly recommend her services.
