Hello Mamas! I am Ashley and I am so glad that you have found my lactation profile. I am a caring and compassionate lactation consultant that was inspired to enter lactation consulting after my first failed attempt to breastfeed my oldest daughter. After diving into breastfeeding education, I successfully breastfed my youngest son for sixteen months with the help of an amazing lactation consultant (see, even lactation consultants need lactation consultants). In 2020, I completed a Doctorate of Public Health degree where my research focused on breastfeeding success. For the past six years, I have been working in higher education, while volunteering for a breastfeeding organization. In September of 2020, I sat for and passed the IBCLC exam. I am also a certified lactation educator and provide prenatal educational classes. I am originally from Northeastern Pennsylvania and currently reside in Brooklyn, New York with my husband and two children. I have been an IBCLC since 2007 offering both virtual and in-home visits to families for prenatal and postnatal infant feeding and lactation support. I help parents with a wide variety of topics in lactation and infant feeding. Some include preparing for lactation and infant feeding, returning to work, pumping and flange fitting, low milk supply, oversupply, oral function, oral restrictions, difficulty latching or feeding, positioning, introducing bottles, starting solids, nighttime nursing, weaning, and more. Patricia Berg is an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and a Diplomate Certified CranioSacral therapist. She was the first internationally to hold this designation. She has extensive experience in both filed. Patricia is a long-standing member of her professional organizations -ILCA and USLCA. She is active in NYLCA and The Connecticut Breastfeeding Coalition. She is on the board of the International Consortium of Ankylofrenula Professionals. She has published and spoken internationally on a number of topics ranging from the use of nipple shield to the question of tongue tie being a “fad” Her focus when working with a family is to provide research-based information so that they can make an informed decision for themselves and their family. Ms. Berg provides support and resources as they travel on the parenting journey.

Hi everyone! My experience with birth started with my first birth: my son was born peacefully at home in the water. I fell in love with birth right away, and began taking doula classes. My approach to prenatal, labor, and postpartum care is mother and family centered.
