Hello, I’m Amber, the heart behind Life’s Journey Doula Services, and I’m honored to support families through one of life’s most meaningful journeys—welcoming their baby into the world. I believe birth is more than just a moment in time; it is a powerful and deeply personal experience that deserves to be approached with compassion, respect, and support. My philosophy as a birth doula is centered around making sure you feel heard, informed, empowered, and never alone throughout your birth experience. Every family, every pregnancy, and every birth is different. I don’t believe there is one “right” way to give birth. Whether you are planning an unmedicated birth, considering pain relief, planning a cesarean birth, or simply want to remain open to where your journey takes you, my role is to support your choices without judgment. I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support, while creating a calm and reassuring presence during labor. I’m there to encourage you, help you find comfort measures that work for you, advocate for your wishes, and remind you of your strength when things feel overwhelming. Most importantly, I want you to feel confident in yourself and your ability to birth your baby. My goal is not to tell you how your birth should unfold, but to walk beside you through it—honoring your voice, your choices, and your unique journey. It would be an honor to be part of yours. ❤️

I am a full-spectrum doula, offering support in reproductive health, birth and labor, and postpartum care in Connecticut and Rhode Island. I love doula work because I deeply value the one-to-one relationships I build with clients, walking alongside them during one of the most important and transformative experiences of their lives. My passion for supporting, educating, and empowering people giving birth comes from my commitment to addressing the maternal and infant health disparities that disproportionately affect Black women. My goal is to help all birthing people—especially Black women—feel confident, informed, and supported by: learning to trust their bodies, learning to trust themselves to make informed decisions and advocate for the birth experience they desire, and receiving culturally responsive, non-clinical emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth. It would be an honor to support you on your birth journey. I work collaboratively with you and your support team to create an experience where you feel confident, informed, and surrounded by care, love, and respect. I welcome you to schedule a free, 30-minute consultation to help us get to know one another, decide if we're a good fit and so that I can also answer any questions you may have. Hi, I’m Marsha, founder of Blissful Sleep Doulas. I began supporting families as a postpartum doula in 2018, and what started as one doula caring for one family at a time has grown into a trusted team of experienced, dedicated doulas supporting new and growing families throughout Greater Boston and beyond. Blissful Sleep Doulas offers birth and postpartum doula support, breastfeeding support, newborn and infant sleep support, and prenatal education. We also offer digital guides covering pregnancy, newborn care, postpartum recovery, feeding, sleep, and more, because we believe parents deserve reliable support and practical answers throughout the entire journey, not just after baby arrives. Every doula on our team is carefully vetted and brings professional training, hands-on experience, and a genuine passion for supporting families. Our approach is warm, judgment-free, and personalized to your family, your baby, and the kind of support you actually need. We believe the postpartum season deserves just as much care and preparation as birth itself. You shouldn’t be expected to figure everything out on your own or feel like you have to do it all without help. Whether you’re preparing for birth, navigating those first weeks at home, looking for overnight support so everyone can get some much-needed rest, or trying to understand your baby’s changing sleep needs, our team is here to help you feel supported, rested, and confident along the way. Rested Parents. Thriving Babies.

I cannot recommend Blissful Sleep enough! We have used them twice now, and their timeliness and reliability really stood out compared to other services we’ve tried. The doulas are natural at soothing and caring for babies, and they were incredibly helpful with establishing routines. Beyond just childcare, they did dishes, washed bottles and pump parts, and helped with other chores, which gave us more time for sleep. We appreciated how flexible they were. They always adjusted to whatever we needed that specific morning—some days that meant letting the baby sleep as long as possible, and other days they had her changed and fed so she was ready for our morning rush to school/ work. If our baby didn't need anything in the morning they would brew coffee and read to the older kiddos. They go above and beyond to support the whole family.

My midwife story began with the home births of my own children. They inspired me to share the transformative experience of owning my birth, finding my own path, and becoming Me. I began my home birth midwifery journey through traditional apprenticeship, where I was more or less self taught. I embarked on a journey which took me halfway across the world to a charity birth clinic in the Philippines. Then I returned again to my mini-farm in Connecticut where I raised and home schooled my three children and ran a small community practice. Over a span of 15 years, my experiences included solo practice, busy group practice, and birth center, blending of traditional midwifery with formalized education. In 2025, I graduated from Midwives College of Utah and earned my credential as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). Currently I work in solo practice, supporting families in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and eastern Connecticut with holistic, personalized pregnancy care, home birth, postpartum and newborn care with all visits in your own home.

When I was looking for a midwife for my second pregnancy and first home birth, I wasn’t sure what to look for. After interviewing a few midwives, Cynthia really stood out to me. From the beginning, I felt like she genuinely wanted to get to know me and understand my previous birth experience. She made me feel heard and supported right away. I especially appreciated that she offered a FaceTime meeting so I could see her beforehand, and I loved how she included my daughter in that first interaction. Having a three-year-old, it made such a difference that Cynthia offered home visits, it took away the stress of bringing a child to appointments. I knew I wanted a home birth, but I had never truly envisioned what that would look like. Cynthia was incredibly patient and helped guide me in creating the birth experience I wanted. She supported me in having the kind of pregnancy and birth that felt right for me. She is very knowledgeable and was always available to answer questions or just talk things through. One of my favorite parts was how she included my daughter in every appointment, letting her help, listen to the baby’s heartbeat, and taking the time to talk and play with her. It made the experience so special for our whole family. When it came time for my birth, I had a “go with the flow” mindset, and Cynthia fully supported me in that. I felt safe, respected, and cared for the entire time. I also truly appreciated the postpartum care. It was personal, calming, and far more attentive than the standard six-week follow-up. Cynthia made sure both baby and I were doing well with multiple visits after the birth. I had such a wonderful experience with Cynthia. I would highly recommend her to anyone considering a home birth, and I will absolutely be using her again in the future.

Ranee helped me give birth to my son a week ago. I began this pregnancy receiving prenatal care from a hospital local to me. During my time with the hospital, they made me feel scared about my birth due to my age, and history of high blood pressure in my first pregnancy. Each appointment was very short and I never felt like I mattered to the provider. The final straw of me leaving the medical model was the doctor pushing the rhogam shot on me even after I explained that my husband and I both have negative blood types so we don’t need the shot. The doctors reply was to ask me if I am sure the baby is my husbands and then pushed third trimester ultrasounds on me to see if my placenta was old, the fluid too little or the baby too big, none of which has evidence based benefit to get a late term ultrasound. I left my final appointment feeling insulted and that I wasn’t listened to. This is when I found Ranee. From the very beginning of our interaction, she gave me evidence based options and made me feel confident in my ability to birth my baby naturally. She made sure to monitor my blood pressure, levels in my blood and my glucose levels. Each prenatal appointment, she spoke to me as someone she cared about and was very thorough to look into my diet and water intake and solve problems before they develop. I enjoyed the hands on approach as she felt my baby’s position, could estimate the fluid levels and heard the heart beat of my son as he moved to ensure the placenta was working as it should. The one difficult part about this model of care is the need for the mother to be understanding of Ranee’s changing schedule. Ranee has clients in all different stages of care and when someone is dealing with pregnancy loss, giving birth or other emotional factors in their life, Ranee is there with them providing care. This is both a negative and a positive because it means when you are dealing with something difficult, she will be there for you too. When it came time that I was in labor, we were set up with everything we needed. My husband was able to make a beautiful sacred space with candle light, incense and Gregorian chants in the background. It was so beautiful and relaxing. When I was ready to give birth, Ranee was there helping me to relax and reassuring me that I could do it. I gave birth to my son in a birthing pool with my midwife standing by watching over me and providing hands on help as needed. Between the two models, I would choose to give birth at the house with Ranee standing by every time. I know if she tells me I need to transfer to the hospital it would be for good reason and not because my birth became inconvenient for her. The birth of my son is a moment I will remember forever with fondness.

I can’t say enough good things about Becca! From the very beginning, she was there to help me prepare both physically and emotionally. She’s not only incredibly knowledgeable but also so fun and kind, which made the whole process feel a lot less overwhelming. Becca helped me build muscle memory for key movements that would be useful during labor. But she made sure I was not overwhelmed with too much information to be able to stay in “laborland” as she calls. She guided me in identifying and addressing my fears before birth. Acknowledging those fears ahead of time gave me a sense of peace I didn’t even realize I needed. She also helped me create a value-based birth plan, ensuring it was respected by the hospital team (which was not standard care in the hospital!) During labor, Becca was absolutely incredible. She stayed with us for 24 hours straight (or maybe more? I lost track of time after a while lol), supporting not just me but my husband too by helping him to help me. Her positive energy made a huge impact. She created a calm, cozy space with her electric candles and soft voice where I felt safe and protected. She moved with me and held space. When a doctor dismissed my needs and concerns, Becca was right there to advocate for me and made sure my voice was heard. Her advice on pushing positions and paced pushing helped turn my baby, who was in a side position, allowing me to give birth vaginally without tearing!- which was one of my fears. Even after labor, when I felt completely drained and defeated, Becca was there with her positive, reassuring words. She kept reminding me of how strong I had been, especially when I stood up for myself when some of the providers weren’t as responsive as they should’ve been. It helped me to rewrite my birth story and made it a story of empowerment! Becca’s kindness, fun personality, and ability to create such a positive environment gave me the confidence to believe in myself. I truly don’t know how I would have gotten through the experience without her, and I’ll always be so grateful for the positive impact she had on me and my birth!

Marissa helped us get ready for the arrival of our first baby. We had two meetings before our girl arrived a little earlier then expected. The first meeting was getting to know each other and Marissa gave us tons informative videos we were able to watch and a few social media accounts to follow with very helpful exercises, stretches, and general partner bonding. Marissa encouraged me through the ending of my pregnancy to stay active and hydrated also to practice breath work whenever I had a moment! Marissa was always quick to respond to me or my husband's text messages or calls Even when we had the silliest of questions! She recommended a wonderful book for my husband so that he was as supportive as possible in the delivery room. Our second meeting we went over some of the best positions to be in during labor and my Birth plan. The day that I was induced, Marissa was Incredibly supportive via text message until she was able to get to the hospital. She made sure that we were asking the right questions to our providers to make sure that we were getting all the info we needed to make informed decisions. During labor Marissa was very Helpful in reminding me to breathe and counting for me during contractions. She captured some of the most beautiful photos for my husband and I during this time as well! My birth felt easier because of the suggestions Marissa gave us and the reminds in option I had in each stage of labor and birth!

Ranee was my midwife back in 2020, and I have been in close contact with her ever since. The moment I met her I felt safe and comfortable, and like she truly cared about me and my baby. I loved that she explained things thoroughly, encouraged me to learn and take charge of my pregnancy and birth experience, and was supportive of my choices. She was easily available to ask her questions and ease my mind. If you’re looking for a prayer fueled, loving, and smart midwife you need Ranee!

Her passion shines through every step of the way!
