As a woman and a mother of seven, my approach is a simple golden rule care model - I give women the care and experience that I would want as a patient. My role is to partner with and empower women with the tools and personalized care they need to improve their health and well being.

I am a grateful wife and mother of seven children who helped introduce me to the world of giving birth. I have born them all naturally, some in the hospital and later in the homebirth setting. I have been a Nurse for over 40 years and have worked in the hospital in Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery and Postpartum care. I have also followed 'out-of-hospital' midwives since I was 25 years old. Recently I became a Certified Professional Midwife who specializes in out-of-hospital (OOH) birthing. We opened My Family Birth Center in Ogden, Utah to give women the opportunity to birth in their own way. We are the largest Birth Center in Utah and Nationally Accredited with the Commission of Accrediting Birth Centers (CABC). We are within 3 blocks of a Ogden Regional Medical Center. We've been open for 4 1/2 years and have helped over 250 couples. I believe in natural birth and know that it has helped many women to experience a quiet, normal, positive birth experience. In my spare time I enjoy bike riding, snowboarding and being with family.

We have 60 mins for new patient visits and 30 min for return patients- this is for both GYN and pregnancy visits. This extra time allows you to have all your questions and concerns addressed without feeling the pressure of an overly booked provider. I attend births at Missouri Baptist Medical Center and have a fabulous collaborating OBGYN for any patients with complications out of my scope of practice or those needing surgical intervention. I have a background in home birth and birth center birth where I practiced for 4 years- I give that same warm, friendly, present care in the hospital owned practice setting!
