In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, practicing hot yoga, working out, going to church, and sewing. My faith has definitely helped shape me as a midwife. Hallowed means regarded as holy or sacred. To me birth is a very sacred experience that should be treated as such. Before stepping into the role of a midwife, I spent nearly three years as a labor and delivery nurse in a hospital setting. It provided me with a solid foundation and invaluable experience, but I slowly came to realize that my values did not align with the hospital culture. When I moved to San Diego in 2018 I decided to leave the hospital and pursue my dream of becoming a midwife. During my training I truly fell in love with home birth. Witnessing a baby enter this world in the very place they will grow up is an incredibly special and sacred experience that deeply touches my heart. During my midwifery training, I made the decision to move back to Texas, wanting to be closer to my family and friends. ​ After completing my midwifery education I began working at a birth center. The birth center was an amazing experience, but I am thrilled to embark on this next chapter of my career, returning to home births and reconnecting with families. Mozeke is a graduate of Mercy In Action College of Midwifery where she obtained a Bachelors of Science in Midwifery degree. She also has a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and a Masters of Arts in Arts, Entertainment and Media Management from Columbia College Chicago. Her journey to midwifery began years ago after the birth of her first child. The experience left her with an intense passion for reproductive justice, birth equity and postpartum wellness. The calling was undeniable and soon after the birth of her second child in 2017, she was able to answer that call.
