About Jennifer

I am a mother to 5 beautiful daughters, and a “Mimi” to the most precious grand baby I had the honor of “catching” at home. Born and raised in San Diego, CA and before moving to Dallas in 2019 I lived in Joshua Tree for 12 years. I moved to Waxahachie for a few years but knew my heart belonged back in Old East Dallas. When not at a birth I'm spending time with my family, sleeping in, teaching student midwives and researching everything birth with my midwife partner Elizabeth! Sundays are my favorite attending services at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, finding a new brunch spot with my family and strolling the Dallas farmers market! I love traveling anywhere with a tropical beach and taking cruises to the Caribbean. I am continuously humbled as midwife, every client teaches me something new. Midwifery care to me has always been about a trusting relationship and shared decision making. My clients trust my recommendations based off evidence and experience. I trust their decisions, even when different than mine. This is their body, their baby and their birthing experience. I love getting to know not just them but their family and even their parenting styles, it’s so much more than birth. As midwives we all love when Dad or even an older sibling wants to help catch but honestly my favorite is when my client catches her baby. Absolutely magical! I am often asked how many births I have attended. I stopped counting at 700!

Frequently asked questions

Are labs included?

Labs are included in our standard midwifery care packages. To keep our fees affordable we encourage clients to use their insurance if lab coverage is included in their plan. Labs are not included for our access program participants. We can bill Medicaid and we offer at cost prices for cash pay.

Are ultrasounds included?

We do not offer in house sonograms. We can refer you to our consulting physician who offers a discounted cash rate and accepts insurance. We can refer you to a radiology center if you have Medicaid.

Do you do VBAC’s?

Yes*! If you are otherwise low risk, have had one previous cesarean, with a low transverse scar and your due date is a minimum of 18 months apart from your last birth. Or if you have had a VBAC since your last cesarean. All other VBAC candidates on a case by case bases.

Do you attend twins or breech births?

Yes*! For otherwise low risk candidates. On a case by case basis at our birth center only for established clients. Late transfers may be considered if not referred to another midwife within the community.
