I am a mother to 5 beautiful daughters, and a “Mimi” to the most precious grand baby I had the honor of “catching” at home. Born and raised in San Diego, CA and before moving to Dallas in 2019 I lived in Joshua Tree for 12 years. I moved to Waxahachie for a few years but knew my heart belonged back in Old East Dallas. When not at a birth I'm spending time with my family, sleeping in, teaching student midwives and researching everything birth with my midwife partner Elizabeth! Sundays are my favorite attending services at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, finding a new brunch spot with my family and strolling the Dallas farmers market! I love traveling anywhere with a tropical beach and taking cruises to the Caribbean. I am continuously humbled as midwife, every client teaches me something new. Traci Santangelo MSN APRN CNM: Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University and started my career working in a local Labor & Delivery Unit. I then married a Yankee (don’t hold it against me), and he moved me to Detroit, Michigan, then to Miami, Florida, and finally to Chicago, Illinois—all for his exciting career. It was at the University of Illinois at Chicago that I received my Master’s in Nursing with a Midwifery designation and developed a deep desire to move back to the Lone Star State. I was tired of being cold! During that time away, I had two children (who have my heart completely), worked in some incredible hospitals as a Labor Nurse, and really developed a desire to serve women. Birth has always been my passion. I love every part of it! From the first positive pregnancy test, to watching a mother hear her baby’s heartbeat for the first time, to hearing that same baby cry at birth—I find all of it exciting and am in constant awe of how perfectly we are made to carry and birth a baby. I am a complete geek when it comes to the physiology of human development and can’t help but talk about developmental milestones because they are fascinating. She moved to Texas to pursue her Biology degree at the University of Dallas, where she also played volleyball. She received her BSN from Texas Woman’s University and worked in Labor & Delivery at Parkland before getting her Master’s in Nursing from Texas Tech University and becoming a CNM. She is married to her wonderful husband, Logan, and they have two daughters, Julie and Helen. Theresa has had the privilege of previously working in a NaProTechnology office, where she gained valuable insights into the remarkable benefits of Fertility Awareness-Based Methods (FABMs) for so many women. Through her experience, she has seen how these methods empower women to understand and manage their reproductive health. At BirthPointe, Theresa is dedicated to continuing her mission of educating others about FABMs, promoting awareness, and supporting women in making informed choices about their fertility.

The wellness center was founded by Cheryl Edinbyrd, PhD, LPC, LCDC, CYT, LMT, Health & Fitness Coach and Licensed Midwife. Dr. Edinbyrd has been counseling individuals, couples and families since 2010 and providing midwifery care since 2017. During this time, she has collaborated with other therapists, healthcare providers and treatment facilities to understand the needs within the community. She has also obtained certification as a yoga, massage therapist as well as a health and fitness coach to include more of a holistic approach to working with clients.

I am Shanna Hinrichs, and my story of community birth began over 20 years ago when I began supporting families as a doula, lactation consultant, and now midwife. I have known I was called to help women bring their babies earthside since I was a young child. I didn't know what that would look like, but I was fortunate to witness the intimate and precious home birth of a dear friend. That experience revealed my path as a birth worker and ignited my desire to serve women and their families in their most powerful and vulnerable moments. I am fulfilled by serving my incredible clients as their families grow. Attending births builds my trust over and over in women's bodies and their ability to transform and heal. I respect the responsibility of being a midwife and recognize the privilege of facilitating an experience that best supports my client's wishes. I believe that educated, informed choice is the best way for families to become empowered and make the best decisions for their pregnancy. That belief has afforded me the privilege to serve on the board of different cesarean awareness groups to help provide evidence-based information so families can make the appropriate choice for themselves and their current pregnancy. I am also a strong advocate for Vaginal Birth after Cesarean (VBAC) when it is the most appropriate choice. I was born and raised in Garland but have had the privilege to live in a few different states. I am married and have given birth to 9 children, each with their own distinct story. Having experienced 9 very different births and breastfeeding journeys, I have lots of hands-on personal experience to offer to you.​ When not engrossed in the birth world, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our 4 school-age kids still at home, and our dog and cats, as well as playing in the great outdoors, eating delicious food, and making our home in Rowlett as peaceful as a home with 4 kids (still living at home), a dog, and 2 cats can be. Hello! My name is Tab’itha, better known as Tabby, and I’m a passionate certified professional midwife currently residing in Mesquite, Texas. I was born and raised in the Stop 6 area of Fort Worth, TX, and I am a proud mother of three teenage girls. From a young age, I always wanted to be a "baby doctor." My grandmother would often say, "You will be a doctor, and your sister will be a lawyer." Although I encountered quite a few roadblocks and detours along the way, I eventually found my way back to what my grandmother had always believed in, but in a way that resonates with me even more—becoming a midwife. I later discovered that midwifery was in my blood; my great-grandmother was a trusted midwife in her small community in Mississippi, which further inspired my journey. I graduated from Southwest Tech with an associate degree in Health Science and Midwifery in December 2024 and passed my NARM exam in April 2025, becoming fully licensed as a midwife in Texas. I am currently finishing up my Bachelor’s in Nursing at Arizona College, further enhancing my skills and knowledge in healthcare. My journey into birth work began in 2018 when I trained as a birth doula through DONA. As a doula, I have attended over 150 in-hospital and out-of-hospital births. When COVID peaked, I was fortunate enough to continue support in the hospital. It was during this time that I realized I needed to acquire the education and skills to become a community midwife sooner than I had originally planned. During my schooling, I attended an additional 95 births and worked with several well-respected midwives and OB-GYNs in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, gaining invaluable experience. I have also acquired skills and experience as a bereavement and cesarean/VBAC support specialist, allowing me to provide comprehensive care to families during significant moments in their lives. I believe in the power of compassionate care and informed choices, striving to create a safe and nurturing environment for my clients. My end goal is to become a certified nurse midwife and nurse practitioner, bringing holistic and woman-centered care to communities that lack representation, including the area where I grew up. As an avid homeschooler, I enjoy engaging with my daughters in their education while also finding joy in my hobbies such as sewing, crafts, hosting workshops for young girls, and assisting in the offices I hold in my church. My goal is to continue growing in my practice while providing exceptional care to those I serve.

I was born and raised in DFW. My family and friends mean the world to me. Having a sense of community is so important. My favorite people in the world call me Aunt Dani! In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, practicing hot yoga, working out, going to church, and sewing. My faith has definitely helped shape me as a midwife. Hallowed means regarded as holy or sacred. To me birth is a very sacred experience that should be treated as such. Before stepping into the role of a midwife, I spent nearly three years as a labor and delivery nurse in a hospital setting. It provided me with a solid foundation and invaluable experience, but I slowly came to realize that my values did not align with the hospital culture. When I moved to San Diego in 2018 I decided to leave the hospital and pursue my dream of becoming a midwife. During my training I truly fell in love with home birth. Witnessing a baby enter this world in the very place they will grow up is an incredibly special and sacred experience that deeply touches my heart. During my midwifery training, I made the decision to move back to Texas, wanting to be closer to my family and friends. ​ After completing my midwifery education I began working at a birth center. Jennifer Mozeke, better known as Mozeke, is a native of Dallas but grew up in Louisiana. She is a Licensed Midwife in Texas and has attended more than 300 births. Mozeke is a graduate of Mercy In Action College of Midwifery where she obtained a Bachelors of Science in Midwifery degree. She also has a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and a Masters of Arts in Arts, Entertainment and Media Management from Columbia College Chicago. Her journey to midwifery began years ago after the birth of her first child. The experience left her with an intense passion for reproductive justice, birth equity and postpartum wellness. The calling was undeniable and soon after the birth of her second child in 2017, she was able to answer that call. Mozeke believes that midwifery care should be an affordable and easily accessible option for any pregnant person who desires holistic, evidence-based, family centered care where pregnancy is not viewed as an illness but rather a unique and normal process of life. Hi, I’m Andrea Carter—founder of It Takes a Village, midwife, mother, and passionate birth advocate. Originally from Gary, Indiana, I made Dallas my home in 2015.
