I’m Carmen, a Birth-Agnostic doula living in Arlington, TX with my husband and two amazing kiddos. Bringing more compassion, humanity, respect and nurturing to birth work in the U.S. has been a passion of mine since I first began my motherhood journey over ten years ago. Birth is an experience unlike any other in a birth giver’s life, culminating not only in the birth of a brand new life, but also a new version of the birth giver. During the sacred window leading up to the birth and continuing on through the postpartum period, it is crucial that all birth givers have the physical, mental and spiritual support they need to navigate this journey wholly— with confidence and without fear. This is my goal with Mama Nurture.

Empower Birth Doula Package

Includes the following: Free 30-minute consultation (2) prenatal visits (virtual or in-home) Comprehensive labor, birth and postpartum information packets Assistance with preparing your birth preferences Unlimited phone/email support. On call 24/7 two weeks prior to due date Unlimited continuous labor and birth support* (2) hours immediate postpartum support (1) postpartum care home visit (approx. 2 hours, includes breastfeeding/pumping/ emotional support, light infant care, (1) prepared meal or gift card provided) Unlimited phone/text/email support for up to (6) weeks postpartum *Unlimited continuous labor and birth support begins at the onset of “active labor” as determined by the doula in consultation with the client(s).

Custom Postpartum Doula Offering

I provide custom postpartum doula offerings at a flat hourly rate, with both daytime and overnight shifts available. While my service offerings are tailored to fit each individual family, below is an overview of ways I can support your family’s postpartum journey. Evidence-based education - My role as your postpartum doula is to ensure you have access to all the information you need to make the best decisions for your family. From infant care to mama care, and yes, even family care during this sacred period, I will help connect you to evidence-based informational resources for any and everything you need. Mama Nurture - The importance of ensuring the new mama is deeply nurtured physically, mentally and emotionally during the postpartum period cannot be overstated. Her wellbeing during this sacred time sets the tone of the experience for the entire family. My role as your postpartum doula is to help assist with the physical aspects of recovery, while also providing companionship and nonjudgmental support as you find your footing as a new mama, whether it’s your first or fourth time around. Feeding Support - Whether breastfeeding/chestfeeding, bottle feeding and/or pumping, I am here to support your feeding journey in any way you need. If you need assistance with getting (and keeping!) the perfect latch, or ensuring there’s a steady supply of clean bottles or pump parts, I’m your extra set of knowledgeable hands. Newborn Care - For brand new parents, having an experienced guide to help you navigate the new reality of life with a newborn can be life-changing. As your postpartum doula, I can assist with modeling/teaching you the basics of caring for your newborn. This includes: soothing techniques, reading your baby’s cues, and how to provide/encourage opportunities for your baby to meet their growth and developmental milestones. Family Support - While the new mama and baby are undeniably the stars of the postpartum show, this journey will inevitably impact the entire household. A crucial role I will play as your postpartum doula is supporting the entire family’s adjustment to the new normal, including partners, siblings, other family members, and even pets. Helping ensure the household continues to run smoothly is just one way I can help relieve some of the mental and physical load, so you can focus on what matters—enjoying this beautiful time as a family.

Being a first time mom and living away from family it was very important to have some support my first few weeks of being home with my newborn. As soon as I met Carmen I immediately knew she would be a good fit for my postpartum doula! She was friendly, welcoming, and supportive. During the night I felt comfortable and at ease with her taking care of our newborn and my husband and I getting much needed rest and our little one as well. I am a first time mom who wanted to ensure I had a someone to coach and advocate for me through labor. If you are looking for a competent and compassionate coach I highly recommend, Carmen. My birth story had so many pivots and bumps and she showed us compassion and support the whole way. She also is a one stop shop and offers encapsulation in addition to doula services.
