I’ve always been drawn to birth and babies—what started as childhood curiosity grew into a calling after the birth of my first child. In 2020, I became a certified birth doula, and today I serve families across the Dallas/Fort Worth area with personalized support through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Whether you’re planning a hospital, home, or surrogacy journey, my role is to support your choices and vision—offering practical help, emotional encouragement, and steady, grounded advocacy when it matters most. What makes my care unique is that I’ve experienced birth from multiple sides—I’ve given birth naturally with a midwife and have also served as a surrogate, helping bring a long-awaited baby into the arms of hopeful parents. These experiences give me a deep respect for how personal and sacred birth truly is. When I’m not supporting families, you’ll usually find me baking sourdough, doing something hands-on and “crunchy,” or creating alongside my kids—but at the heart of it all, birth work isn’t just what I do, it’s part of who I am.

Katie at Little Lilacs Birth Services was absolutely incredible! From the very beginning of my pregnancy, she was there to guide me through every step, patiently answering my million questions and offering expert advice that always made me feel supported and confident. She helped us revisit and refresh all the birth techniques we had learned before, giving us the tools and reassurance we needed to achieve another unmedicated birth with confidence. During labor and birth, Katie was calm, attentive, and completely present. Her support went beyond just guidance—she anticipated our needs, encouraged us when we felt unsure, and helped create a birth experience that felt empowering and safe. Beyond her professional expertise, Katie has a warmth and kindness that makes her feel like a lifelong friend. She truly cares about the families she works with and goes above and beyond to make the journey from pregnancy to birth as smooth and joyful as possible. I can’t recommend Katie and Little Lilacs Birth Services enough to anyone looking for a doula who combines knowledge, compassion, and genuine friendship.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Heidi and the role she played in bringing our sweet Mila into the world! Our story with Heidi actually began during a previous pregnancy that unfortunately did not work out. Heidi was incredibly kind and compassionate through that experience and refunded the money we had paid her. We told her that when we were lucky enough to become pregnant again, we would be back; and although it took us a while to get there, we kept that promise. Throughout my pregnancy with Mila, Heidi was informative, supportive, and involved. She held classes with us, came to our home several times, and truly took the time to get to know us. By delivery day, she felt like someone we knew and completely trusted. During labor, Heidi was incredible. I was especially nervous about the epidural, and she stayed right beside me, keeping me calm and reassuring me. She used different techniques, positions, and comfort measures to help relieve pain and stress, and when we were faced with decisions, having her there to help us understand our options was invaluable. One of the most meaningful moments for my husband came right after Mila was born. Heidi guided him to go be with Mila while she stayed with me. In such an overwhelming moment, he wouldn’t have known what to do otherwise. Because of her, he was able to be there for those first moments with our daughter while knowing I wasn’t alone. After everything it took for us to finally welcome Mila, having Heidi by our side made the experience even more special. We will always be grateful that she is part of Mila’s birth story and could not recommend her enough!

My husband and I were highly recommended and referred to Kathleen when we found out we had conceived our beautiful baby boy, and we are so incredibly grateful that we found her. She supported us from start to finish and was such a steady, reassuring presence throughout our entire pregnancy and birth journey. Kathleen is an absolutely lovely human — extremely educated, knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. She is incredibly respectful of personal values, beliefs and choices, and we always felt heard, supported and completely cared for in her presence. We were especially grateful that Kathleen was able to be there for the birth of our baby boy recently. She truly was an absolute earth angel to have in the room. I remember looking over at her a couple of times during labour just for that little bit of guidance and reassurance, and her calm, safe energy was exactly what I needed in those moments. I would wholeheartedly trust Kathleen with any of my births and babies and would recommend her to anyone looking for someone who is knowledgeable, compassionate, respectful and genuinely invested in the families she supports. From an early age, Rophe was drawn to birth work and the beauty of the experience. Rophe is passionate about advocating for couples and giving them the education they need to make informed decisions to take charge of their births. She believes strongly in the beauty and strength of a women's body and its intended design for birth. Melissa’s earliest memory of delighting in the birth process was as a child visiting the Science Museum. She remembers watching videos, one of a mother dancing in her labor room, another surrounded by her young family, while another escaped into a birthing pool to focus inwardly. It was not until Melissa became a mother herself that she realized just how empowering the birth space can be.

Andrea supported us for the birth of our first child, and I was able to have the unmedicated birth I hoped for. She was available leading up to the birth for emotional preparation, and helped me labor through the night at home so I arrived at the hospital already in active labor — a real accomplishment for me. She was in our room minutes after we checked in, interfaced beautifully with my medical team, and paid close attention to my cues, offering well-timed suggestions that kept me calm and progressing. When we hit a few unexpected bumps, she helped me stay steady rather than anxious. I'd recommend her without hesitation — she was kind, respectful of my birth preferences, and easy to trust during such a vulnerable time.

I’m Adele (she/her), birth and postpartum doula, perinatal educator, Evidence Based Birth Instructor, owner of The Hive Doula Services, RMT, mom to an 18 year old, and born in Ontario but lived in Calgary for almost 21 years. You can find me obsessing over birth photos and placentas, sending birthing videos to my bestie, and dreaming about the birth room. Birth is such a beautiful and empowering moment that we all get to witness. Your birth team should support and honour you, as this is your birth, your body, your baby. As your doula I offer evidence based information and resources. I 100% believe in you and your ability to go through this journey and into parenthood. And will low key throw some throat punches if needed (I’m mostly joking). I truly feel that everyone deserves a doula ♥️. Let’s connect and see if we are a fit.

I wasn't sure what to expect with working with a doula, and I had a lot of anxiety about pregnancy and birth before and during my pregnancy. Adele was immediately compassionate and kind. She came to our home for an introduction and let us know what to expect. She was patient and answered all of our questions. I immediately felt heard and respected. During my labour, she was a literal angel. She helped me with pain management and made me feel supported through an almost 48-hour labour. Without her, I would not have know about all the supports available to me. Unfortunately, my birth had some complications. I would not have gotten through it without Adele. She held my hand through it all and made sure I was informed and knew someone was there for me. Post-partum, she helped me with the physical and emotional toll of birth and helped me to learn to breastfeed. Most inportantly, she taught me to advocate for myself with my care team in order to access much needed medication for my complications. If you're looking for a doula, go with Adele. She was my saving grace through my first-time mom journey and she is so kind and compassionate. 100% recommend.

I combine decades of hands-on experience with evidence-based newborn care and parent education, with the goal of supporting healthy sleep while helping parents feel confident caring for their baby.

As a first-time mom and someone who really does not function well without sleep, postpartum was probably what I was most nervous about... (especially after having a necessary C-section!) I interviewed a couple different postpartum care teams and found the Newborn Dream Team immediately made me feel at ease. The first few weeks after giving birth were honestly a lot. Between recovering from my C-section, figuring out life with a newborn, and not having family in town, I was much more anxious and overwhelmed than I expected to be. I cannot thank Danielle, Pamela and Abbey enough for being there for us during that time. They were so helpful in those early weeks, not only with the baby, but with helping us figure out what worked for our family. They answered all of my questions, gave me reassurance when I needed it, and helped me feel more relaxed and confident as a new mom without ever making me feel like I didn't know what I was doing. I was breastfeeding, and they were so supportive of that while also helping us introduce a bottle. They always let us lead with what we felt most comfortable with and never made us feel pressured to do things a certain way. And honestly, being able to get some much-needed sleep knowing our baby was safe and in such good hands was *priceless.* They also helped us establish a really great routine and healthy sleep habits, and our baby was sleeping through the night by five weeks! We will miss Danielle and Pamela SO much, but it makes me so happy knowing they're always in our corner. I truly cannot recommend Newborn Dream Team enough. They made those first few weeks so much easier and more enjoyable, and I am so grateful we found them. 🤍

I have always had a passion for working with children and families. I grew up on a small island in the heart of the Florida Keys. From an early age, I began babysitting and nannying. Once I graduated from high school, I decided to major in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Psychology. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and returned to the Keys to teach elementary school. For 10 years, I worked with many families and children of different ages and abilities, including those with special needs. During this time, I also began practicing yoga and as cliché as it may sound, yoga changed my life. It has provided me with an outlet to focus the mind, control the breath, and explore and appreciate the body. I decided that I wanted to share the powerful and lasting benefits of this practice with others. I have studied hatha, vinyasa, yoga philosophy, meditation, standup paddleboard yoga, and pregnancy + postnatal yoga. It was during my pregnancy + postnatal yoga training that I became interested in becoming a doula. I felt compelled to find a way to provide much needed support for individuals and families before, during, and after birth. I decided then, to pursue a new life and career path. I trained through DONA International to become a certified birth and postpartum doula. I have taken various additional trainings such as Body Ready Method®, Spinning Babies® workshops, rebozo techniques, LGBTQ+ family equality, Spinning Babies® certified parent education, basics of breastfeeding, and infant first aid and CPR. I am committed to using my experience, knowledge, and ability to hold space to provide unbiased informational, emotional, and physical support that empowers you to make the right choices for yourself and your family.

I cannot express how much Shaina helped me in my pregnancy and birth experience. This was my first time giving birth. For our initial virtual visit, she shared so much information on different types of stretches, movements, and hospital jargon that was very beneficial beforehand. I ended up being induced due to a medical reason, and I don't think I could have given birth without Shaina. She help me with contractions by using a tens machine, she used pressure points, massaged my shoulders while I was in pain, reminded me to relax and how to breathe. When you're in a high stress moment like birth, you forget all of the things you learned, ex. Breathing/moving, so it was helpful to have someone to remind you of the helpful tools! Most importantly, she was an amazing advocate. I consulted her when it came to making decisions during labor. She was so knowledgeable, she would often advocate on my behalf to the nurses to get me what I needed! She didn't take no for an answer! I was so grateful to have her be part of my birth experience, and I would highly recommend her to any woman who wants to feel supported in birth!

Hello! I'm Kaytalyn Winston, Certified Birth, and Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Support Educator, Childbirth Educator, and Newborn Sleep Consultant. My passion for birth began through my own motherhood journey. I am the mother of two beautiful children, my daughter was  born at a birth center and my son was born at home. Experiencing the power, beauty, and transformation of physiological birth firsthand deeply shaped my view of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. My experience of being fully held and supported by a doula myself ignited a love and drive for supporting women as they navigate their own journeys into motherhood. In addition to my personal birth experiences, I have also had the unique honor and privilege of serving as a surrogate for a close friend. Walking through pregnancy and birth from both the perspective of a mother and a gestational carrier has given me a profound appreciation for the many different paths families take to welcome a child. I believe that every mother deserves to feel seen, supported, informed, and honored throughout each stage of motherhood. Birth is not simply about bringing a baby into the world, it is a transformational rite of passage for a woman and her family. My role is to provide compassionate guidance, evidence-based education, emotional support, and practical care so that families can make informed decisions and approach birth with confidence. My birth philosophy centers on trusting the innate wisdom of the mother and the physiological design of the body while ensuring families have the knowledge and support needed to navigate birth in the way that feels right for them. I strive to create a space where women feel empowered to use their voice, trust their intuition, release all fears and tension, and make decisions aligned with their values and goals. I support families across a variety of birth settings, including home births, birth centers, and hospitals. I have a special passion for supporting physiological birth, VBACs, water births, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and helping families establish healthy newborn feeding and sleep rhythms. Where do I begin? Kaytalyn is more than amazing. She started as my doula and quickly became my friend, support system, cheer leader, and advocate as well. She is always so quick to respond with any question or concern, addressing any fears you have and working through them (while being a shoulder to cry on) and celebrating every win along the way. I love everything about her!! My husband and I attribute both of our beautiful births- first in hospital and second in home, to Kaytalyn’s incredible guidance and help. We love her and I highly recommend her to any woman I find out is expecting!

I am a birth doula, childbirth educator and international board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC). I am hiring for VBAC clients and moms having their second, third, ect. babies.

Recent review

I made the decision to go with a doula late in my pregnancy. Having previously had multiple abdominal surgeries, including a cesarean, I decided to do everything possible to prevent another one. That’s where Sara came in. Sara provided me with resources and positivity right away. She was very supportive of my wish to have a VBAC, and she never once doubted my ability to do so. Little did I know that I would be diagnosed with severe preeclampsia at 35wks, shortly after meeting Sara in person. It became clear that I needed to deliver right away. I was given the choice to either have a repeat cesarean or be induced for a VBAC. Sara provided me with helpful information so that I was able to make informed choices. I decided to go for the VBAC, and Sara was there to support me every step of the way. Despite requiring many medical interventions, I view my daughter’s birth as a positive experience. I know that a big part of that is because I had Sara’s expertise and steady reassurance. Not only did she help us with labor and delivery, but she also provided postpartum and lactation support in the NICU and at home. I couldn’t have asked for a better doula. Our family is very grateful to have had Sara on our team.

First, as a sister and a friend, then as a mother myself, I have seen the medical system sew fear and doubt into women regarding their body's capability to achieve what it was intended to. The truth is, childbirth is both natural and miraculous. I believe that every woman has the right to decide what interventions she wants to use in childbirth without the use of fear, but instead through true informed consent. I continue learning daily how best to help each new mama, both through lived experiences and through research, and will gladly share my knowledge. I also believe that every woman should be supported through the most vulnerable and powerful moment of her life. In a system that pushes women away from their natural state, I am here to be that calming support and fierce advocate.

I am SO grateful to Barbara! She was a trusted guide and resource from the moment she joined my birth team. Barbara advocated for me throughout my hospital birth labor and I ended up with the best birth experience. Barbara's encouragement and her hands-on assistance during delivery gave me the birth experience I had truly prayed for. Barbara provided me and husband confidence and peace of mind throughout my pregnancy and during labor. Barbara literally held me up during the pushing phase! She provided security to me in her advocacy. Barbara empowered me throughout my pregnancy and birth. To have Barbara with you during your pregnancy and birth is truly a gift. I am forever grateful for Barbara. If I am blessed with another pregnancy, I will be asking Barbara to be my doula again. I am full of gratitude for everything Barbara did for me and my family.

I practice trauma informed, perinatal, birth, and postpartum support for all birthing bodies, couples, single and single by choice parents, adoptive parents, and families on their surrogacy journeys. My support is queer competent, weight inclusive and intersectional, and it is always my priority to support people getting the care that helps them feel safe and seen, essential to the health and wellness of both baby and family. I know first hand how beautiful, challenging and exhausting childbirth and parenting is, and I come with a wealth of personal and professional experience to share with you.

Melanie Guymon is a superb CFSD. She spent nights with our little bub for 2+months, she gave us a reprieve and support during the difficult newborn days hard. We had a colicliky baby and Melanie not only helped us advocate to our doctors that our baby might have reflux, but she also gave us superb tips on how to help ease her discomfort at night and during the day. During her time with us Melabie also helped us prepare our baby to move out of the swaddle, and due to her tips, our baby seamlessly transitioned from her Snoo + bassinet and into her crib and a sleep sack. She continued to support us with sleep coaching as well, helping us with our babies sleep schedule, which has allowed our baby to sleep better than all of our other baby friends in a similar age range. We had Melanie start with us around the 6 week mark due to our postpartum schedule, and she was with us until just under 4 months. We could not have done this journey without her.

Nikki Avila Popular: among the most-viewed doulas in California, last 60 days

Hi, I’m Nikki Avila—Certified Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Cofounder of Three Moons Doula Collective. My work is rooted in the belief that birth is sacred, transformative, and deeply personal. As a Latina birth worker, I’ve spent the last 16 years walking alongside families during one of life’s most vulnerable and powerful seasons—offering care grounded in compassion, cultural wisdom, and advocacy. Three Moons Doula Collective is not just a training program—it’s a movement. A space where doulas of color rise in their power, find their voice, and reclaim the knowledge that lives in their lineage. Our mission is to ensure that Black, Indigenous, and Latino families have access to skilled, culturally conscious birth support—because our communities deserve nothing less. Birth work has always lived in my spirit. Even before I had the language for it, I was holding space for pregnant friends as a teenager—offering a supportive hand to hold and an open heart to listen. That calling was modeled by my mother, who was a constant presence of strength and care in our family and community. I learned early on that showing up for others is powerful—and that’s where my passion was born. In 2018, I began formal training with Doula Trainings International and went on to earn certifications through Cornerstone Doula Training in birth and postpartum care. In 2021, I became a Certified Hypnobabies Instructor and Hypno-Doula, offering tools for calm, confident birthing experiences rooted in the power of the mind-body connection. My continued education reflects a deep commitment to both evidence-based care and ancestral wisdom. In 2022, I began training with H.E.R.B.A.L. Doula. In 2023, I trained with La Mujer de Tierra in Ceremony of Birth, deepening my connection to traditional and ceremonial practices. In 2024, I trained in Spinning Babies® with Midwife Tema, expanding my knowledge of physiological birth and body-based support. In 2025, I continued my holistic path by training in Reiki for birth with Mitra, integrating energetic support into my care. From belly binding to energy work, my approach is holistic and intentional—honoring the entire person, not just the process. In 2019, I founded the Bakersfield Doula Circle to unite birth workers in sisterhood and solidarity through monthly gatherings where doulas come together to share, learn, and lead with collective wisdom. I actively collaborate with community partners like Save a Mom, Save a Family, Inc., and since 2024, I have been part of the Maternal Healthcare Committee in Kern County, contributing to local efforts that aim to improve maternal health outcomes and expand access to culturally responsive care. In May 2024, I traveled to Ecuador with Wombs of the World, where I had the honor of sitting under and learning from Parteras Mama Mila and Partera Martha, a powerful mother-daughter duo. Their teachings deepened my understanding of birth as sacred lineage, passed down through generations, and strengthened my commitment to honoring traditional wisdom in my work. In February 2026, I continued this journey in Mexico City and Oaxaca, Mexico, where I sat with and witnessed the work of traditional midwives and healers—Doña Queta, Partera Paula, Partera Yuu, Curandera Norma, Partera Rosa of Valenzuela, and Partera Mariela. These experiences further shaped my understanding of birth as ceremony, community, and ancestral remembrance. I am deeply grateful for the work and mission of Wombs of the World and for Charlotte’s leadership in creating these transformative spaces. In 2025, through Three Moons Doula Collective, we trained our first cohort of doulas—many of whom are now actively working with managed care plans, providing essential support to mothers throughout Kern County. As of 2026, my colleagues and I continue to expand this work by training Native American Indigenous birth workers, strengthening culturally rooted care within our communities. As a Certified VBAC Link Educator and Medi-Cal Doula, I’ve supported over 130 births, including more than 28 Medi-Cal births in 2024 alone. Each one is a powerful reminder of how informed, respectful care can transform outcomes and empower families. In June 2026, I will be releasing The Wisdom of Waiting Birth Method™, a childbirth education course designed to guide families back to trust, knowledge, and the innate power of birth. Through Three Moons Doula Collective, I’m committed to shifting the paradigm. This work is about more than teaching skills—it’s about nurturing leaders. Doulas who are deeply rooted in their culture, confident in their knowledge, and ready to create generational change. I hope every person who trains with us feels seen, held, and empowered—and that every birthing person they support feels the same. This is the legacy I’m building: one of advocacy, ancestral remembering, and powerful community care. We are creating a future where birth is safer, more just, and deeply sacred. I am here to support you, IN THE WAITING, Nikki Avila

The one thing I regret is not hiring Nikki earlier!! I reached out to her when I was 36 weeks pregnant and I am so lucky she was willing to take me on so late in my pregnancy. Nikki not only helped me prepare as best as I could in the short time frame we had before I gave birth, but she also connected me with the women in her team who were incredible resources as well. When it came to my L&D, Nikki was with me in the hospital for a complete 24 hours. She helped me navigate challenges to my birth preferences, consider tough decisions, and advocate for me when dealing with some difficult healthcare professionals. I truthfully think my birth experience would have taken a horrible turn if i did not have the support I received from Nikki. After I was released from the hospital, My son had difficulty with his latch, and i had a hard time with pumping. I shared my issues with Nikki, and she quickly put me in touch with her lactation consultant in her group, and they were able to counsel me that same day. I truthfully believe if it wasn't for this help, i would have given up on my breast feeding journey prematurely. Although I reached out to Nikki late only because i found out my insurance would cover a doula, My husband and I both have determined if we no longer could hire Nikki through our insurance, we would budget for her services if we decide to have another baby in the near future. Nikki is kind but also direct, gentle but also strong, informative but not condescending, and she is patient but not avoidant. She is sensitive to the needs of the individual client, and accepting to all walks of life.
