If I could give Adele more than five stars, I would! She is truly phenomenal. Going into my first pregnancy, I wasn’t sure if I needed a doula, I thought I was emotionally strong enough to handle it on my own. But wow, was I mistaken! Adele was an absolute lifesaver throughout the entire process. From the moment we called her during my unexpected induction, she sensed my stress and was by my side instantly. She helped me formulate a birth plan and knew it inside out, advocating for me when things got intense. When labor kicked in, she arrived armed with her magical "Mary Poppins" bag filled with incredible remedies for every discomfort imaginable. Thanks to her, I was able to manage contractions for hours, something my husband and I credit entirely to her unwavering support. Adele was invaluable in pushing back against unnecessary medical interventions, ensuring my voice was heard. Her familiarity with the hospital and staff meant she was constantly getting us everything we needed such as popsicles, juice, fresh gowns, you name it, she had it handled. Once I got the epidural, she created such a calming atmosphere, making the entire experience feel like we were simply hanging out with a close friend. When it was time to push, Adele advocated for me to try different positions, which helped me deliver our baby much faster. She somehow managed to cheer me on while also capturing the most precious photos of my husband and me, truly multitasking at a level I didn’t think was humanly possible! After birth, she stayed with us for as long as we needed, ensuring we were comfortable and cared for. She continued checking in on us, visiting often and even sharing more helpful goodies for postpartum recovery. If you’re debating whether to hire a doula, don’t hesitate! Adele is a true gem, and I have recommended her to every expecting friend I know. Without a doubt, I’ll be calling her again for my next pregnancy!

Adele is AMAZING! We have twin girls who have just turned 1. Adele has been working with us since they were around 3 months. We refer to her as “the girls’ best friend”. They absolutely light up when they see her and they have so much fun with her! In the early days, she helped us with both nights and daytimes so we could get some rest. She also made it possible for us to have date nights over the last few months! She is fantastic with babies, and handled both of them with ease. My wife and I hired Adele to help us through our first journey into parenthood. Our first meeting with her was really great, she answered all of our questions, gave us good book recommendations, and just made us feel comfortable. We instantly knew we wanted to hire her as our doula. The months leading up to the delivery were made easier knowing we were able to reach out to Adele with any questions or concerns, and she was always quick to respond. The day of the delivery was pretty crazy as our baby decided to come 4 weeks early, but Adele rushed to the hospital to meet us, made it before our midwives did and proceeded to coach my wife through the delivery. She stayed with us after the delivery, made home visits to help with breastfeeding and support, and continued to check in with us afterwards. We cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible support Adele provided. As this was our first child, there were many unknowns for us. Adele's knowledge and years of experience were so important in helping us navigate our birth journey. Our labor was long and challenging, lasting 24 hours at home, followed by an emergency c-section. When we found out I was expecting, there was a mix of fear and excitement. Giving birth was my biggest fear and I knew I wanted to find a doula to help me through that emotional aspect of being afraid. We met with Adele online to see if we were a match and my husband and I really liked her positive energy and how knowledgeable she was. In our prenatal appointments, she always addressed our questions and concerns and sent evidence based information to help us really learn along the way. She knows her stuff! When it came to the birth, plans changed a little, as they do, and Adele was always in touch and met us at the hospital as things progressed. She was always very calm, shared funny stories (I wanted a positive and humorous vibe and I definitely experience that) and was perfectly hands on when she needed to be. She really encouraged me when, after 4.5 hours of pushing I was feeling like I couldn't keep going and the doctors suggested further interventions. She kept me focused and had me changing positions and I was able to push out my boy with no assistance (also something I was very afraid of). After the birth, Adele came to our house, helped with breastfeeding and even brought a warm baked apple loaf (it was a cold snowy day and it really was such a kind gesture). She was always available via text and I really appreciated her wealth of knowledge. She was such a great advocate at the hospital as well and made sure our voices were heard and acknowledged. I would very highly recommend Adele! I know she was a huge part of why my birth experience was so positive and I would definitely want to work with her again!

My boyfriend and I met Adele at a coffee shop for a meet and greet after we came across her profile on here. I forget how many weeks I was when we all met, but hiring a Doula was a bit of an afterthought when suggested by our midwives. We had coffee with Adele and instantly clicked. I remember going home and thinking yep, she's great! We got the process going and had a few prenatal meetings before the big day. Once things started Adele was at the hospital to meet us right away and I must say she made the whole experience so much better than I would have ever imagined. This was our first so I have nothing to compare it to, but she just did her thing and helped keep me as calm & relaxed as I could be. She helped with guided pushing, was always there to lend a helping hand and gave us advice in the moment to help us advocate for ourselves when needed. I can't even sum up all the incredible ways she made the labour and delivery process so memorable. She was such a huge help afterwards too when I had to go back to the hospital after we got home because I had a serious hemorrhage - she came to the rescue and helped my boyfriend so he wasn't all alone with our little guy, brought formula which was such a big help because in that moment everything just kind of flipped upside down briefly. Adele was truly amazing. With my first baby I had to be induced in the hospital, so having my second baby at home seemed like a far-off dream. I didn’t have a doula for my first so all those anxious thoughts and questions were battled alone. With this second birth, I was determined to hire a doula even if we ended up in hospital again. I wanted a team by my side that I loved, and who would support me and my decisions. I had attended a “meet your doula” event locally in hopes that I would find someone I connected with. I met some lovely women who would have been amazing as a doula for my birth but the moment that Adele sat down beside me, I instantly felt at peace. My wife and I were fortunate to find Adele in supporting us through the birth of our first child. During our initial meeting, we all clicked and was comfortable with Adele in terms of her demeanor, experience, and knowledge. Adele is methodical and very detail oriented in how she supports her clients to realize their wants, preferences, and goals of childbirth. She uses an evidence-based approach and focuses on educating so that we as new parents can make the most informed decision according to our birth plan. Adele also shared helpful resources and referred us to beneficial paramedical practitioners like an acupuncturist and pelvic floor specialist. Adele is a very approachable, knowledgeable, resourceful, and compassionate person. Her personal touches made the whole birthing experience very positive. For instance, she decorated the L&D room that made the environment conducive and calming. We appreciated and were grateful for the little things Adele did for us during active labour like putting chap stick on my wife because her lips were dry, or when she offered me a coffee when I was running on little sleep. She also made sure my wife was well hydrated and reminded me to get a nap in whenever possible. After our delivery, Adele swung by to visit us at the hospital, and at home to ensure we had the support that we needed. This lady is a gem who goes above and beyond. Adele was incredibly supportive through the whole process. She was able to answer all our pre and postpartum questions being first time parents. If you are thinking about adding a doula to your birth/postpartum team, I would 1000000% recommend Adele. She has the best vibes, is incredibly knowledgeable and is so supportive in all aspects - from prenatal care and labour, to helping me navigate postpartum with my new babe, I couldn’t have done it without her. During prenatal home visits, we connected and it felt like she had become apart of the family. She helped me stick to my at home water birth plan which I am so grateful for. She was my cheerleader through labour - keeping me calm and reminding me 100 times over that I could do it. She also took the most beautiful photos so I can look back on this special day forever. After the birth she helped clean up and stuck around to make sure I was ok and that breastfeeding was going well. She came to visit after the birth and helped with laundry and made us food. I am so grateful for that as I was incredibly sleep deprived at that point and was so emotional. We were also having some issues with breastfeeding and she came to our house very late at night and coached me through it. I would highly recommend Adele's services for your birth and postpartum care. We first contacted Adele two weeks before our son was due. This was unusually close to the potential date of birth. I was a bit apprehensive about this as people usually work with a Doula much further in advance to support them through pregnancy and establish a rapport. However, Adele responded quickly to our emails and arranged to come over and meet us a few days later on her birthday, despite the short-notice. It was a long birth process but Adele was there from start to finish on the evening of Thanksgiving, a 36 hour experience. Although Adele had said that she would be there throughout the birth, this was a far longer period of support than I had ever expected or hoped would be provided. Adele was an invaluable resource during the birth for both myself and my husband. Although we had done a lot of preparation ourselves it was a huge relief to have someone present who knew our wishes, had extensive experience, and was there to support us in discussions with the hospital birthing team. It would have been a far more stressful experience without Adele and I could not recommend her services more highly. Adele is very generous with her time and resources, going above and beyond to ensure she provides the support her clients need. Adele also provided postpartum support to us following the birth, visiting us at the hospital and at home a number of times, providing both knowledge and emotional support during recovery. As we don't have family close by we also requested that Adele provide postpartum support in the form of a few hours a week looking after my son. This gave me some time to myself and meant we could access her expertise for a longer period after the birth. Adele is now the trusted resource for childcare for our family.

So grateful to have connected with Adele for birth doula support! She helped us welcome our first child in December 2023. She was knowledgeable, professional, and also fun and easygoing throughout the whole process. We’re very happy we found Adele to support the birth of our little girl. When we met we could sense her caring nature and felt she was a great fit for us. She shared so much insight about birthing options and provided us with great resources. In a time when FaceTime and zoom can save provider’s both time and money, we actually really appreciated that Adele had no issues coming out to Strathmore for face to face meetings despite the extra distance. My husband and I couldn't be more thankful for Adele and everything she has done for us. Our baby girl was born at 26 weeks via emergency c section and Adele was there for the entire process. Postpartum is another story, but she will be with you until you can fully recover on your own. She knows exactly what you need without even the need to ask her. At one time, I didn’t know I needed something(s) until she just offered them to me. She is someone you would want to have around months leading to your childbirth and after. You simply will love her vibes and energy. =)

Adele was the most amazing addition to our birth experience. We are first time parents and couldn’t imagine doing this without her. She made a couple prenatal appointments with us to get a feel for what we wanted for our labour/ birth and got to know us better. Then during the early parts of labour she checked on us continuously and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. Once I was in enough pain we called her to the house in which she proceeded to labour with me for another 17 hours! She supported me completely and helped calm my husband. She was a rock for us mentally. I’m sure she massaged my back for 10 hours total!! Her and my midwife worked flawlessly together throughout the entire process. Postpartum she did multiple home visits to support us, and also checked in through text to ensure we were doing well. I can see how passionate she is about this career and how much of herself she pours into her clients. She has such a beautiful soul and works selflessly to exceed her clients needs. We are FOREVER grateful and will definitely be hiring her again for our next child.

I was honoured to have Adele as my doula during my home birth. Honestly, I don’t think I would have been able to do it without her. Her support and encouragement during labour were what kept me focused and strong and reminded me of all the techniques I learned to cope with the pain. She also had the intuition to ask me: “What is holding you back?” when I started pushing which helped me to move past my fear. She held my hand the entire labour and knew again intuitively that I needed her there without me having to say a word. Her support and encouragement, when I initially struggled with breastfeeding, was also invaluable and kept me mentally strong. Adele came to our rescue. My husband and I were evacuated from Yellowknife to Calgary when I was 40 weeks pregnant and our doula wasn't evacuated to the same place; so we were pretty much stuck alone without the guidance we thought we'd have for my labour, in a healthcare system we weren't familiar with. Adele came through for us at the eleventh hour and volunteered to step in as our doula. She was very knowledgeable of the system, provided so much support both during labour and postpartum, and went the extra mile to reach out to her community for donations of baby stuff since we were only allowed to evacuate with a carry-on and therefore had very few things. We will forever be grateful to Adele for being there for us, her support was amazing.

Hiring Adele was the single best decision we made on the journey of having our first baby. She has been beyond generous in giving her time and attentiveness to meet our needs as they arose and also providing relevant resources and practical tools. Adele’s passion for her clients and the wholistic birthing journey is a defining element of everything she does as a doula. She was a life line for me as we navigated a million decisions that came with an induced unmedicated delivery. She met us at home after discharge from the hospital and brought a wave of reassurance and support with lactation cookies, homemade nipple cream and hours of hands on support in the crucial first hours of breastfeeding. Adele continued to be a try lifeline as we encountered challenges with nursing in the first week. She did not hesitate to come to our house with arm loads of tools, resources and a can do attitude. Adele has an ability to offer ideas and guidance without being overbearing or intrusive. I don’t know what we have done without her! I honestly feel so humbled and taken back by the level of support she has given us and couldn’t be more grateful for the genuine care we have received.

This review is super late but our feeling about our experience with Adele haven’t changed. We felt loved, supported and cared for our entire pregnancy, all 58 hours of labour and postpartum. Knowledgeable, comforting, and empowering, Adele's skills were priceless to have by my side when we welcomed our daughter into the world. I can not thank her enough. Excellent price considering she held my sacrum and hips for 6 hours, gave me aftercare, herbs, reading material, and lactation advice that helped me when my milk didn't come in. Every birth story is different, but Adele gave me the tools to and empowerment to put me in tune with my body so I could have the easiest and quickest birth. she even advocated for my requests when speaking with doctors and nurses about my request to be drug free. ?? I have met Adel in 2011 when I needed a massage work done because I was injured at my work. After the first massage appointment I nicknamed her the steamroller because well she was unbelievable. Anyway very soon after I was having a kid in 2012 and my wife at the time wanted a Doula and Adel was doing that Doula work. When I found out how much it was it was pretty shocked that it was so affordable. Anyway we did the planning and she was very organized in the planning stage I was pretty shocked because this girl worked four jobs at the time and was a single mom. I thought it was pretty amazing that she was able to find time to be a Doula lol. So during the Day that Maylin was born she was there right on time and helped with every detail. It made my life so much easier being the father as you could imagine I was super nervous and didn't really know what to do lol. She helped me doing the right thing and was massaging Mandi helping her through her contractions. I was really blown away how easy she made it for us. Now it's been 10 Years later and she is still in mine and my daughters life which I find amazing and she's a good friend but this is how we met. You will never find a better Doula and Adele. This I know because she is such an amazing person, a natural giver, so hard working. And is always good for her word. ps. Thank you Adele so much for being there for me and maylin through my up and downs. You rock girl and anyone who take you on as their Doula Will obviously feel the same way. ??
