Earlier in my life, I was an ER charge nurse in AL. After moving to GA, I worked in several critical care aspects of the hospital system. After facing health issues as a family in 2014, I left the more "western" mindset of medicine and began teaching classes on nutrition, emotional health, and holistic medicine. After taking childbirth classes and having 4 natural births myself, I developed a passion for birth and desire to protect the sacred physical and emotional aspects of it. I am completing a doula certification with DONA this fall as well as teaching childbirth education classes in the Acworth, Kennesaw, Dallas areas. Darcy found her calling in doula work through her own journey into motherhood. Initially supporting families as a birth doula, and eventually postpartum care, recognizing its critical role in family well-being. Darcy believes not only is a baby being born but a mother and father. Darcy believes you have the most powerful voice in the room and is passionate about supporting families in their desires, helping birth partners (whether that's husband, boyfriend, best friend, etc) best support you by education tools and guidance, and discuss any fears you have and address them one by one. Her approach to postpartum care centers on three essentials: sleep, food, and presence. She helps families get the rest they need by taking on night duties, assists with meal prep to ensure proper nourishment, and provides a comforting presence for support and guidance.
