About Shaina

I have always had a passion for working with children and families. I grew up on a small island in the heart of the Florida Keys. From an early age, I began babysitting and nannying. Once I graduated from high school, I decided to major in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Psychology. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and returned to the Keys to teach elementary school. For 10 years, I worked with many families and children of different ages and abilities, including those with special needs. During this time, I also began practicing yoga and as cliché as it may sound, yoga changed my life. It has provided me with an outlet to focus the mind, control the breath, and explore and appreciate the body. I decided that I wanted to share the powerful and lasting benefits of this practice with others. I have studied hatha, vinyasa, yoga philosophy, meditation, standup paddleboard yoga, and pregnancy + postnatal yoga. It was during my pregnancy + postnatal yoga training that I became interested in becoming a doula. I felt compelled to find a way to provide much needed support for individuals and families before, during, and after birth. I decided then, to pursue a new life and career path. I trained through DONA International to become a certified birth and postpartum doula. I have taken various additional trainings such as Body Ready Method®, Spinning Babies® workshops, rebozo techniques, LGBTQ+ family equality, Spinning Babies® certified parent education, basics of breastfeeding, and infant first aid and CPR. I am committed to using my experience, knowledge, and ability to hold space to provide unbiased informational, emotional, and physical support that empowers you to make the right choices for yourself and your family.

I cannot express how much Shaina helped me in my pregnancy and birth experience. This was my first time giving birth. For our initial virtual visit, she shared so much information on different types of stretches, movements, and hospital jargon that was very beneficial beforehand. I ended up being induced due to a medical reason, and I don't think I could have given birth without Shaina. She help me with contractions by using a tens machine, she used pressure points, massaged my shoulders while I was in pain, reminded me to relax and how to breathe. When you're in a high stress moment like birth, you forget all of the things you learned, ex. Breathing/moving, so it was helpful to have someone to remind you of the helpful tools! Most importantly, she was an amazing advocate. I consulted her when it came to making decisions during labor. She was so knowledgeable, she would often advocate on my behalf to the nurses to get me what I needed! She didn't take no for an answer! I was so grateful to have her be part of my birth experience, and I would highly recommend her to any woman who wants to feel supported in birth!

I wasn’t even sure I needed a labor doula with my third baby, but since my insurance covered it, I decided I’d give it a try. I’m SO happy I did!! We hired Shaina for labor and postpartum support. Labor support really blew me away. I truly think my birth and recovery went so much more smoothly because she was there. The nurses were trying to move everything along quickly but Shaina helped advocate for me to wait until my body felt ready. Her postpartum support was also invaluable. Having a newborn with two little kids means things pile up exponentially faster. After rough nights, Shaina would take the baby so I could get some rest, help with dishes, laundry, and other household tasks, and helped make it feel like our whole house wasn’t falling apart! It should be mentioned that a doula sees you during very vulnerable and raw moments of life, and Shaina never judged. As someone who doesn’t sit still or rest well, she helpfully reminded me I had just had a baby, and should take it easy! Every growing family could benefit from having Shaina’s support. She made such a huge difference in our lives and we (my husband included) are eternally grateful for everything she did for our family.

We chose Shaina based on her previous reviews and were especially drawn to those that mentioned her expertise with difficult births and her ability to slow things down and success avoiding C sections with healthy births. We delivered our IVF pregnancy on April 2026 and remain so grateful Shaina was part of our journey and birthing team. She was available for all questions both before and during the birth. She was the expert in our corner for all medical decisions going into our 39 week induction and made us feel 100% confident in the decisions we were making. During the birth, I could not be more grateful for the focus and support Shaina provided. Once things got going, she immediately told us she was the only voice we needed to focus on and she would translate and pass along everything the medical team was saying or asking. She kept my wife so focused and calm the medical team had to come running because labor moved along so much faster and efficently than any on the team expected. I strongly believe Shaina made pushing and active labor so manageable our healthy baby came many hours earlier than all predictions. She is the calming voice and empathetic expert you need in the room and I would highly recomend Shaina to anyone on a pregnancy journey.
